- The legends say that BLU Scout is still asking who's on first to this day. May he find peace... and answers! ಠ_ಠ
Well, this took a while to make. This is the complete/remastered version of my old video, now with less blur and less bright, colorful eyes: • [SFM] Who's on First?
Original "Who's on First" video, script read by Nathan Vetterlein (Scout's voice actor): • TF2 Scout Voice Actor ...

Didn't expect to see such a classic joke in SFM form, I love it.
All thanks to Nathan! I'm really happy he read the script too! ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
"Who's " on first
You said it, Pal, I'm in _tears_ I tells ya.

Nice pfp lad.
The two scouts certainly had a very heated debate about baseball.
They are still debating to this day. And no, BLU Scout still don't understand the name of the players. :>
Totally just clocked that scout likes baseball and that’s why he’s in this skit
Always amazing how this kind of humor lasts decades when modern humor with needless swearing is often easily forgotten about.
The original script had "I don't give a damn" instead of "I don't care"
Yep. Some jokes are just timeless... and I'm happy on animating them on a game that's already considered timeless too. (=^ω^=)
I heard the "I don't give a damn" was only used when Abbott and Costello performed for the army. @@victoriaasenjo524
@@victoriaasenjo524that was only when they were performing for retired actors, one of whom likely said that iconic line.
Ah, Costello and Abbott... And to be honest, I actually feel that Scout would actually _enjoy_ Costello and Abbott simply because of their clever wordplay and comedy... And because his first introduction to Costello and Abbott was through "Who's on First".
I kind of picture Spy being utterly surprised that Scout actually looks up to such comedians.
True, especially because Scout is the youngest one, always bad mouthing people. Spy would be proud. 。◕‿◕。
He probably would, wouldn't he?
On a side note, I've heard it said "Abbott and Costello" so much that "Costello and Abbott" threw my eyeballs for a loop. XD
Also helps that TF2 takes place in the 60s, so Abbott and Costello for them would be like Monty Python for us.
Love that a skit that basically defined comedy for the next 80 years is still being remembered
True. Abbott and Costello probably never thought that their jokes would still be a success so many years in the future. ^^
Just goes to show that Who's On First is still a timeless skit. Damn fine animation helps, too! Great work!
A skit made almost 80 years ago still find it's way into the future generations... some things are truly timeless.
Also, thank you! I'm happy you liked it! ┗(^0^)┓
Wouldn’t be surprised if this joke outlasted baseball
It's great that there's still people making SFM at this year. Congratulations.
I feel like even if they lose their popularity, there will always be people making GMOD/SFM animations... that's what make them special. ^^
I love that people are still making "Who's on first?" jokes in the current year too
it would make more sense if u said that its great that theres still people making whos on first? jokes in this year but sfms are still popular so
This has always been my favorite Abbot and Costello bit. I'm glad to see it be brought back to life in another piece of media I love dearly.
A timeless skit that will probably outlive all of us. I'm happy you liked it that much! o(≧∇≦o)
i love the energy of this animations, they are so alive, some times i wished animators we're real
Giving life to animations gives me life! I also wish I were real. e.e
Thanks animator of this vidio :D
There's a special magic to old humor like this - no cursing, no violence, just silly word play. Love it :3
Fabulous animation work as well - you're a talented animator and I love the bouncy feel to your animation!
Just the RED/BLU Team shenanigans when the Administrator is not looking. ;3
And that's really kind, thank you! Means a lot when people like my animations. o(≧∇≦o)
The original script had "I don't give a damn" instead of "I don't care"
:3
@@victoriaasenjo524 they very rarely said that, “I don’t care” was used the most, followed by “I don’t give a DARN”, and in third place is what you claim to be the original
The Abbott and Costello gag still lives on. 👍
Almost 80 years old and it's still here to bring joy to future generations. o(≧∇≦o)

Well done Misan.
Thank you! It took a while but it's finally here! 。◕‿◕。

I love how this scene goes form dark and foreboding, like a mob boss meeting, to bright and sunny when everyone cheers for the first thing the guy said right!
There’s even a cute little rainbow in the background 🌈!
RED Scout was so proud that the whole environment changed around them. ;D
@@Misantropicoand the whole world cheered!
As they finally caught on.
this needs an ultraextended cut of the full 8 minute joke, im sobbing rn
True. I would probably animate it if Nathan read the entire script. x'D
This is absolutely fantastic. A timeless sketch dubbed by Scout and animated with exceptional attention and care.
A timeless classic animated in a timeless video game. I'm happy you liked it! 。◕‿◕。
Who’s on first was a very large part of my childhood and I’m glad to see it here.

Glad this got an extended version, these scouts conversation is like an unstoppable force meeting a unmovable object. It goes nowhere, wait it can’t go nowhere because he’s on the other team.
Nice animation btw!
Haha, true! And I feel like Scout is the perfect Merc for this skit. He looks like someone who would try his best to explain something or would just suck at trying to understand things. x'D
@@simpsitandmore2908 Yeah, with Nobody, Mii and Yu.
I love this so much. The ONLY criticism I have is that I wish it was the full sketch
Thank you! And yeah, Nathan read only these 2 and a half minutes of the script. It was probably a commission. If the original VA read all of it, I would probably have animated it's entirety. xD
@@Misantropico Well, if you ever feel like doing one for Sans and Papyrus, I was suppose to record that exact thing for a friend of mine. If you want to hear how my voices sound, I can send you the Snow/Heat Miser song I recorded doing their voices. Apparently, a small community liked it 🤷♂
the joke is so simple yet so confusing to those not in on it.
Whose on First is such a classic. No matter how many times its redone or referenced, it never gets old.
Almost 80 years since this skit was created and it keeps going strong. Some things are truly timeless. ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
1:24 Inside BLU Scouts mind: "How could this happen to me, I made my mistakes-"
"Got nowhere to run! The night goes on as I'm fading away-"
And I still feel bad for that poor BLU Scout. He is so confused!😂😂😂
He lost his cool in the end. He had incredible patience, tho. x'D

I've never been called a professional before, thanks! That's really amazing to read! o(≧∇≦o)
I don't Know Who is a really underapreciated player, hope that more people start to recognize him more
All the attentions always goes to Who, but people keep forgetting What and I don't Know Who. :

To be honest it's nice to see 2 mercs actually interacting for once. just like this video. It would be interesting to see more interactions like this.
Yeah, when they are not fighting each other, they like to spend some time together, like friends. ᶘ ᵒᴥᵒᶅ
The fact that this isnt AI voiced makes it so much more special
True. AI work is impressive, seeing how far machine learning have come, but things made by humans will always have more soul and love. ^^
@@Misantropico Watch out last time I said that non AI stuff has more soul an atheist hounded me to define what a soul is.

@@Misantropicoand even worse that that he even says « that’s the manns name" like bruh
There is something special in these sfm animations, a strange but charismatic humor at the same time and for some reason they remind me of the animations that used too see a lot in 2015 about tf2

Nathan definitely blessed us with so many good clips
True. I'm happy the voice actors seem so chill while doing these crazy skits. ^w^
@@Misantropicoglad he’s taking a mental health break
The parents named them just to troll those two scouts.
Their parents are pure evil geniuses. Poor BLU Scout is never going to understand their names. (⌐■_■)
Red Scout at the beginning says theyre all nicknames 0:06, names given by the fans. So the parents wouldnt have been the one to choose the names, theyre just nicknames and not their real/legal names.
It doesnt matter how many variations of this one i hear or how many times i hear them. Theyre always amazing.
Professionals have standards.
And you are surpassing all of them
Haha, thank you! That's awesome to read. ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
@@Misantropico I have to ask, if you don't mind, how do you work with SFM? What's your work flow, I guess I should say, when you animate characters? Do you work from the bottom up, top to bottom, side to side, do you move their start and stop points before animating the rest of their body, do you set up the camera before or after, things like that.
@@BRNG2042 I animate their whole body at once: while I animate the head, I'll also animate everything else down to the feet;
I tried doing the start to end stop point, but it just wouldn't work for me, so I animate every little move until I get the final results I want;
And for the camera, I set up it in the position the animation starts, and then I make it follow the characters.
I hope I answered your questions. :>
@@Misantropico thank you so much! It was very helpful.
Legendary comedy bit turned into a amazing SFM. Great job bro!
Thank you so much! It was pretty fun animating it! ≧(´▽`)≦
I’m so happy Scout’s VA decided to do this bit.
True! It was a blessing. ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
this is expertly animated, and just makes perfect sense that two scouts would be yelling about baseball xP it's just made even better because of the voice actor being nathan himself. i could see myself rewatching this, like rewatching Heavy is Dead
1:31. When I saw that TS2 reference, I love that you put attention to detail in the interface (and the fears are just black and white images of a cat close-up photo), hell, even the needs have references to match TF2’s humours words (I don’t know what a “Bonk” desperation would look like). The whole video is a fun to watch.
TF2🤝TS2, 2000’s icons forever!
I've played all the classic The Sims games, from 1 to 4... from my childhood to my adulthood. I really LOVE that franchise. It's just a small moment in my video, but I really liked making that reference. o(≧∇≦o)

Abbott and Costello…
Who would’ve thought they’d be so fitting for the Scout
“I Don’t Care” is the best short stop ever.
I'm sure he's a fan favorite! ლ(╹◡╹ლ)
I gotta say not only is this a classic skit, but you made the emotions perfect for the joke. Good work
Thank you! It was a blast animating this. ≧(´▽`)≦
I appreciate the End of the Line poster in the background
I really love the thought of Blu and Red Scout bonding in Boston and just becoming frienemies
Both always disputing to see who is the best. That sounds wholesome. ^^
this bit will never get old
Two and a half minutes of driving blue Scout mad.
And he did a great job. BLU Scout does not look happy. e.e
Missed opportunity to bring THE shortstop to the joke.
God that bit never gets old
This deserves aproximatly infinity more attention!
it may be an old joke at this point but it's stood the test of time so far
True. Some things are truly timeless. ^^
It’s still cool to hear the actual guy voicing the SFM, even if this is a remastered version of an old SFM.
I love how they just keep going
If this was the complete skit, they would be going for 8 minutes straight. Pure insanity. :P
The absence of "I don't know, he's on third" hurts me a little, but the stare after "Why" is mentioned makes up for it.
Yeah, Nathan didn't read the entire script... but I'm glad the parts he read are equally as funny. ^^
I absolutely love "Who's on first"!
TF2 Community: Looks like we ran out of jokes we can turn into SFM
Misan pulling a skit from 1976: Observe
The TF2 Community will always find things to make jokes/animations about... no matter HOW long in the past it has been buried. x'D
This has no right to be as good as it is.
You kept your promise and actually made it. Thank you so much
It took a (good) while. Sometimes the inspiration wouldn't come or I would just totally forget it and work on other things. But I'm happy it's finally here. :P

Abbot and Costello would be happy to know that their humor is still found funny to this day.
