I saw the Sweet live in 1975, at Festival Hall in Brisbane Australia. They were at their peak and had a huge fan following Down Under. Their music is timeless. I don’t care how Steve looks, his legacy, as well as Brian, Andy and Mick’s is eternal. I’m so great full to have had the experience to hear the music live and the excitement it created at the time.

How great it is to listen to Steve and also, like it was 100 years ago, but some memories are like yesterday. I think it has been a crazy time, years, 1968-1978, lots of hits, success, mess also, fights, more pop, mor rock, crazy nights and in the end, tired of everything but not music. Those 4 members of Sweet were really bull headed and strong persons, so it was obvious, it can´t last forever. But we still can hear their music, which lives on and on and it´s the never ending story of the great rock n roll music. Thanx Steve, Thanx Andy.

So sad to hear about the death of Steve Priest. Absolutely loved Sweet when I was growing up in the 70's and remember always looking forward to seeing them on "Top Of The Pops" on a Thursday night. At the time they were considered quite outrageous, but it was always Steve that you wanted to see. Looking back now, you can see that he loved what he was doing and really relished camping it up and not taking himself too seriously. He was a brilliant bass player, but also had an amazing voice, with the ability to reach the really high notes on their songs that Brian possibly couldn't. It's a shame that Sweet were always considered to be a bit of a joke because of the whole Glam thing, because they deserve to be remembered as a truly great band. R.I.P. Steve.

Everybody who shocked by Steve's look - he is only old rocker and his name is Steve Priest not Dorian Gray.
By the way Sweet has song with that title ;)

The fast lane in the 70's was a dangerous place, I'm surprised any of them made it through. Great interview

Side two of Desolation Boulevard always blows me away in every way. Andy's guitar playing is scorching, Mick's drumming is just spectacular, Steve's bass and vocals so rich, Brian's vocals unique and soaring, and the production so concussive and clear. Sweet were great musicians and singers that didn't receive enough credit. They could be a bit gimmicky at times but still amazing musicians. I thought Queen copped a lot from them any many ways , but I like Sweet better.

I discovered this album recently and was gobsmacked to see what a great rock band they were and you are right about Queen stealing their act

It's so true what he said about the music being timeless. I'm 59 and believe it or not just heard Ballroom Blitz for the first time and I could not believe it was an old song. Sweet was such an amazing band!!

I truly admire Steve Priest for his work with SWEET. They were the heroes of my youth. Having said this, I must confess that I am in sorrow to see in what bad shape he is today.

Humble man. Thank you Steve, and ( Brian, mick, Andy) for sharing your lives and music with us. Timeless music! Introduced my gr. Kids to “ballroom blitz” and it’s one of their favorites!!! As well as “ love is like oxygen “, and all the rest of the fabulous songs. Im jealous of the person who got to interview Steve. 💕💕
