Just for info Amy. A trail race is marked and you have to follow the marked route. A fell race has check points and you have to visit them in order, but can follow your own route ( although most runners know the quickest routes). You need to be able to navigate for fell racing, although a lot of runners follow the pack.👍 . See you in the Lakes for some fell races next year 😮

Hi Amy. What a fabulous run, well done. You have some talent girl, chapeau, and it was lovely to see how much you were enjoying it, despite the horrible conditions. I used to compete here in Germany where I live, in many of what is called a "Volkslauf" or "public run". Any one can run and the routes are on the roads and woodlands around various towns and villages around Germany, usually between 10 and 20 km. You can run them as a hobby runner, or race them as a serious competitive athlete. I was a serious runner and won quite a lot of these races often in similar conditions to those you experienced on your race. It's not very comfortable to start with, but once you're into it, you just go, and keep going till you get to the finish. Props to Laura she was just amazing, you're lucky to have her as your second, and your friend. Last, but certainly not least - It hurts to see you suffering period pain, I have known female friends who have been curled up in a ball on the bed, in tears with it. It's not nice at all and my deepest sympathy goes out to you. Keep your chipper up girl, I hope it passes soon, and I look forward to seeing you in the next vid. TTFN.

I booked for release day for my wife & I to go see it. Problem was the release day I had in my head was a week later than what the release day was. I only realised on the Sunday when people on my Facebook were talking about it & I thought hang on a sec, it's not out until next Friday. Nope, I was 2 days late. So that was 4 tickets I ended up buying instead of 2! :( On the plus side the film was great. You'll love it.
For a first run of any kind that is a great time you are more built for running the cycling with the right training you will go faster defo on a flat road race , well done

Carry a couple of jelly babies for when you feel dizzy or walk them down just before you finish for extra buzz. Also get a foam roller for muscle massage far better than the battery powered things as they target the muscle area better. If it hurts it’s doing your muscle good
Gosh, I was wondering if that run should have been cancelled. Did you ever read about the Yellow River Stone Forest Marathon in China in 2021? The weather unexpectedly turned severe, with freezing rain, hail, and gale-force winds. The conditions caught the runners off guard, as they were wearing light running gear. Unfortunately, 21 runners out of 172 died from hypothermia and exposure 😢
Wunt be normal if it dint rain in the lakes.....last ATB holiday (a week) I had it rained every day, and we where camping SOGGEEEE. 'Ull' east yorkshire.
