But someone once said to me that "Batman is just an angry rich kid that beats up poor drug addicts to inflate his own self worth." And that kind of hit me pretty hard.

I’m sure a part of what Batman does is driven by notices related to his guilt and self worth. Ultimately though, I think he’s a man that is willing to sacrifice himself to protect others.

He wants to be with them again. But if you do wrong, and have an unworthy death, that won't happen. I know these ideals are somewhat antiquated, but Bruce Wayne is a character of the late 1930s, when these would be prominent beliefs. So, in turn, becoming a martyr. Doing good and sacrificing yourself for good, would lead to a good or worthy death. Allowing him to be with his parents again.

Conversely, the marvel comics are no where near comparable. I really feel like I can relate to Bruce and his everyday struggles emotionally and his psyche. Such a great video!

I’ve always wondered about Tyler Durden in Fight Club and where he sits on the spectrum of introversion and extroversion. I guess Ed Norton was the introvert version of the extroverted Tyler perhaps.

I don't think Batman is a good idol. Realistically speaking, he's an extremely self righteous and egotistical individual. We should all learn to consider whether what we do is right or wrong before we do it. Not justify everything we do as the right thing. Like Batman does.
That’s an interesting observation, thanks for sharing. I think we can learn some great things from Batman but agree that not everything he does is worth emulating. I think that goes for pretty much everyone and any character as no one is perfect, Batman certainly isn’t! Although what is considered right and wrong can often be subjective.
