@@avcables_ It sucks. Really steep and high skill ceiling isn't good. It's raw spam, and spam in any game sucks, specially combat, they argue it's more than that but almost everything they mention is still spam or stupidly difficult to master decently.

They just announced on the Minecraft twitter that it's a mace. Deals extra damage (plus knockback) the longer you've fallen before you hit something, and if you land a hit it'll negate fall damage. So basically a weapon that does a down-smash attack. The tweet also says it's made from a "heavy core found in trial chamber loot and a breeze rod" -- making me think the breeze will now drop rods that can be crafted into charges, to parallel blaze rods and powder.

the weapon choices in Dungeons was probably my favorite thing about it, it would be insane if even just a small bit of that variety came to the main game

Would love to see some of the weapon types from Dungeons be added into the game, but regardless I'm still happy to see Minecraft getting a new weapon type. What was the last new weapon type to be added into Minecraft and how long ago was that?

As an aside, if you play on Java and have Optifine installed, you can kinda emulate having the different Dungeons weapons with the New Default+ texture pack
Aside from neat QoL stuff like enchanted books and potions all having distinct textures from each other, there's a whole heaping host of names you can give most tools and armor via an anvil that'll change their appearance to various Dungeon weapons, or some stuff from other games if you're feeling that, like if you like the ol' Fire Emblems, naming a sword "Parallel Emblem" will give you Chrom/Lucina's sword, "Sealing Blade" for Roy's, and quite a few others
"Emulate" is the key word here, though, as the changes are purely visual and the actual function of the weapon or tool will be same as normal
Also, the majority of the names only work on anything that's Diamond or Netherite tier, though there are a handful that work on Iron like "Dungeons Sword", "Claymore", "Void Touched Blade", and so on

It's literally a hammer, it can't be a placable item since it has a 2d texture in your inventory or while your holding it, and it reminds me a lot of the shape of the hammer from Minecraft dungeons, remember when they added the alays and said that they originally came from Minecraft legends, I could see a similar thing happen where they add more items from Minecraft dungeons to fit the dungeons they're literally adding in this update
What makes you so sure that it's a hammer? It could be the grappling hook they talked about years ago because that would cause you to fall to the ground if you used it incorrectly.

wind charges are much easier to clutch because its no longer limited by placement range and the explosion radius applies the fall negation, which is much larger than 1 block
Mojang is finally doing something great with minecraft, we should appreciate for it
But we can't backdown, if we just accept a good update and act like nothing before happened, they will keep the cycle of doing bad updates until they make one for us to forget the bad ones and continue being "lazy" after.

Minecraft's combat is in need of a LOT more attention and polish than just adding a new weapon. Adding another glorified stink to whack people with wont make the gameplay any less braindead and unsatisfying.

I think it'd be really cool as a jetpack, being able to shoot a wind charge directly downwards if you double tap jump
We should be able to use wind charges to create some sort of double jump piece of equipment that allows the player to press space again midair to get a wind charge boost. Not sure how it would work, but it would be cool. Alternatively, a rare enchanted book dropped from Trial Spawners with a Breeze in the room that can be put on boots or leggings with the same effect.
The 💥 makes me think it’s a hammer which hits the ground and knocks stuff into the air

Maybe it could be both the hammer and the storage thing. You could load charges into the hammer and it could function like a bow, using the charges as ammo with the fire and wind charges having different effects

Since wolf now have variants, we need other mobs with variants like cow, sheep, goat, zombies etc. The game will be more alive with this
The zombies already kinda have variants but i like the idea of passive mob variants
also we need the wolfs to be like fish in a way that like that one coyote one like can have dif types with the others and mixed breeds like the coyote could also have a stripe one also the main one should be called spine type idk just sounds right

I think the block is like an area thing like the conduit where once it's activated you get slow falling or some potion effect that prevents fall damage
In facebook they already posted an image of the hammer that deals more dmg the more you have been falling. That sounds amazing for pvp with windcharges.

Fun weapon, fun overhaul to the chambers, so cool to see they adding more things to past features (aka, trims, pots and banners) instead of forgetting them, hope it becomes a pattern for them do add at least one new banner pattern, armor trim or pottery shard in every update
Maybe it's a landmine:
Wind charge -> placed inside block thingy = explosive landmine that actives on proximity and launches unsuspecting players into the air, causing them to die of fall damage
I'm trying not to keep my hopes high, but not gonna lie this is exciting

I think it'd be cool to add a decent damage boost for jumping 2 blocks and hitting so jump boost potions have an actual use now for PVP but anything above the range jump boost allows you to jump scales much slower to prevent it being broken

To anyone trying to say "no it isn't!!!" yes, it is. They posted on Twitter/X that it's a sledgehammer and deals extra damage the longer you're falling, and if you hit your target successfully your fall damage will cancel out.

I think they have a dedicated server for the combat snapshot pvp, not many play it though, currently feels too glass-cannon-y compared to vanilla's tankiness

The mace being added with the wind charge essentially adds market gardening
I think Mojang should make this iteration of the mace a trasure weapon, like the trident, while renaming it and add craftable maces without the fall = more damage effect in turn for something more practical like more knockback, armor penetration (the irl intended use for maces) or some type of slow/sprint restriction effect on hit.

The new weapon is the mace also does increasing damage depending on the height you fall from for example a 20 block fall can kill a iron golem(Big Guy) in one shot so yeah combined with wind charge can do quite some damage and the thing you extracted from the files is called the heavy core and when combined with the breezes new drop we get the mace

Ooo, well, it looks to be the same size as a conduit. But if you take the video of the Trail Chambers into thought and if they fell from a height. Maybe the blocks stops you from hitting the ground? It's got a meter bar on the side. So maybe you use Wind Charges to charge it, if you so happen to lose your footing when building high and fall, you'll be safe and sound. Well, until you run out of charge. (this is my guess btw)

Maybe it'll be a launcher for the wind charge. It's pretty difficult to use the wind charge to scale walls (or maybe I just have skill issues) and it could be a better way to do that.

was hoping it was gonna be a Warhammer and that we would be getting a new enchantment, like "lightning embued" and when you right click using the hammer it charges the hammer up with lightning that you can then hit your enemy with. would be truly epic! Only could use it with sky access though. One of the materials to make the hammer would need to be a lightning rod

Which is not only a Reference to Halo 2 (Microsoft IP) but it's also an achievement from Halo Reach by doing the exact same thing.
Alternatively they call it caves and crypts and you get it by landing a mace hit from build limit to bedrock as a reference to the other achievement
