+AnimeEveryday Mob Psycho did start off a bit slow (unlike One Punch Man which just threw you into it), but it was very surprisingly good. The fight scenes, especially in the last arc of the season, were absolutely fantastic as well. You really should give it another try.
You are definitely my favourite anime youtuber. All of your videos are so well put together and insightful that it's hard to choose whether I'd watch these or anime itself! I hope 2017 goes well for you and you never stop making these videos.
Here's my final video of the year, my 10 favourite anime from 2016. I'd love to see everyone else's favourites from the year too so post them in the comments! Thanks to everyone who has watched my videos over 2016, I appreciate ya & hope you all have a happy Christmas & New Year!

Yeah 2016 was great anime year for me 10/10 Diamond is Unbreakable 9/10 MSG Thunderbolt; Rakugo; Mob Psycho 100; Tanaka-kun, Your Name, Haikyu!! 3rd 8/10 Yuri!!! On ICE, ERASED; ReLIFE, My Hero Academia, Keijo!!!!!!!!, Flip Flappers; Gi(a)rlish Number, Drifters; First Love Monster ,Planetarian + really enjoying Poco's Udon World (didn't finish it yet) & March comes in like a lion
10/10's - None 9/10's - Saiki Kusuo 8/10s- Rakugo, Durarara x2, Re:Zero, Erased, Haikyuu 3rd Season, ReLife, Flying Witch, (Tanaka-Kun, and Shokugeki S2 - these are both candidates to drop to 7s)
I am not too sad/mad about not seeing Yuri on Ice on here, since it's not an anime but a lifetime commitment. It's clearly No. 1 in everything, let's be real. It's pure perfection and it makes me so happy *-*
well this was the golden year of anime for me, a really good year indead! Here's my list: 1. Mob Psycho 100 2. D.Gray-Man Hallow 3. Re:Zero 4. Kizumonogatari 1 and Koyomimonogatari (yet to see the second Kizu movie, including it as 1 count, due to them being in the same storyline) 5. Macross Delta 6. Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans +Thunderbolt (I'm including the 2 of them as 1 count, because a lot of MSG IBO had aired in 2015 and will air in 2017! And they are related by name but not story, so yeah) 7. Ushio To Tora Season 2 8. Jojo Part 4 9. Rakugo 10. Ajin (both seasons) thanks for the video!
I really liked original D.Gray Man but dropped Hallow after about 3 episodes because it was like 80% exposition. Does it get better later on? Does it end the story or it has typical "read manga" ending?
Felik18 I don't consider an anime using exposition as a flaw, heck 80% I don't notice it's happening! Or remember the meaning of the name! well what really put it so high for me was Kanda's arc, and enough to make it my most favourite anime, I can't say whether or not the exposition continues though, because I hardly ever notice it as a flaw!
Felik18 oh and in the way of the ending.... I wouldn't call it a read the manga ending, but it also doesn't have a proper ending, the ending was a typical shonen seasonal ending, the characters defeat an enemy and it gets a slight and nice wrap up!
For me it's the better of the year, the world would be a better place with more anime like that. Next season around the corner, and while you are at it watch Fune wo Amu also.
Kinda surprised you didn't mention Fune wo Amu. The same woman (Kumota Haruko) who created Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, is responsible for the characther designs for FwA. FwA is not as great as SGRS, but it delivers the same aspect, both talk about an industry that may seem boring on paper but it's very well flashed when you watch it. Hope you give it a watch!
It is pretty funny to me that the only anime on here I haven't seen is number 1 haha. Also what is the name of the BGM I would be down to put that on my chill playlist. See you in the next video and I hope you have a good holiday season man :)
My man Holden :) All the tracks are from Chillhop Record's winter collection: chillhop.bandcamp.com/album/chillhop-essentials-winter-2016 Hope you have a good one too man!
I don't think I have a top 10, but I did really like Concrete Revolutio, Raguko, 91 Days, Diamond if Unbreakable and Ushio to Tora. Though 2 of them are titles that started last year
Suprised no one has mentioned Space Patrol Luluco, easily one of my favourites from 2016, really reccommend it, it's Trigger at its finest and Hiroyuki Imaishi's direction is just amazing, really short but really awesome and fun as hell, if you missed it go watch it, it won't take more than 2 hours of your time.
2016 seems to be a pretty bad year for me, I can't seem to find anything other than Mob that I would say I enjoyed in the anime world. None of these in your top 10 really motivate me either. I watched episode one of Flip Flappers awhile back and it was amusing but it's so not my cup of tea, both in it's style or story. I want more intelligent, dark and unique stories to be told. Which anime so rarely does. Another Ping Pong or Flowers of Evil. Something real and powerful.
But flip flappers is intelligent, dark and unique it just isnt a deap character drama or pure edge like the two shows you mentioned and it tells its story in tiny pieces
thePANDEMlC have you not tried Ajin yet then? or 91 Days maybe? if you are wanting a serious Sports anime, All Out is airing right now! Monogatari had 2 movies and a full series that released this year which is very serious when it wants to be! Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt is very serious and heck so is Iron Blooded Orphans (not as much as Thunderbolt though) March Comes in Like a Lion does have seriousness to it! feel free to tell me what you think of all of these, and I can list even more!
Endor 66 Ping Pong is pure edge? In what universe do you exist in? Flip Flappers looks and feels like a slice of life kids cartoon. It definitely seemed smarter than your average action fantasy show but it's not even in the same ballpark as the two shows I mentioned.
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, Fune Wo Amu(Kinda like Rakugo, which surprised me, having two really good slice of life), Amanchu. They're not as good as ping pong(that kind of masterpiece anime only comes once in a while), but they are pretty great stories that focuses on the characters and themes.
The problem of mediocre art - not just anime, - is lack of purpose. Art is supposed to convey an idea, a story with a point. Most of the modern anime doesn't have a point. Most don't even bother with recognizable visuals - same designs, same colours, same bs.
Ислам Хаупшев Same fucking gradient used on all the backgrounds. Seriously, what's with this washed up shit. At least shows like Mob Psycho and others have experimented with trippy colors
Ислам Хаупшев Who fed you these lies? What is the 'purpose' of the Mona Lisa? What is the 'purpose', of a Jackson Pollock? There is no such thing as 'mediocore' art, and art does not need a 'purpose'. "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder", have you ever heard this quote before? What is art to some, isn't to others and that's fine. If you didn't like this season, that's fine. However, plaese refrain from making blanket statements on subjects that are completely subjective.
I loved 91 Days (It's definitely my style of anime) and completely forgot about Konosuba until you mentioned it. I watched Yuri on Ice, going into it with skepticism but enjoyed the style and story. Going to give some of yours a watch as well -3gatsu, DJ and Shouwa are definitely on my list to watch. I'm kind of craving something with a similar style and feel to Ergo Proxy to come out this year - I can only hope. I don't remember most of what I watched last year (in terms of new anime to be specific) aside from those two.
Kuromukuro is an underappreciated anime. I went in expecting a shallow highschoolXmech series, but it was surprisingly deep, and the cast is really likeable. The protagonist team also has a surprisingly grounded relationship given their circumstances... and it has mechs.
Really strong year. My list is still pretty much up in the air, but it'll probably look something close to this: 1. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu 2. Mob Psycho 100 3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable 4. Flip Flappers 5. 3-gatsu no Lion 6. Yuri!!! On Ice 7. Hai to Gensou no Grimgar 8. My Hero Academia 9. Flying Witch 10. Hibike! Euphonium 2
Mine would be nearly the exact same except replacing flying witch, sangatsu lion, and thunderbolt, with luluco, my hero academia, and mob psycho 100. I feel every year there are good anime out, you just gotta find them. If I were to compare my lists, I'd say they'd be pretty equal, last years being(in no order), food wars, opm, sound! euphonium, death parade, kekkai sensen, yuri kuma arashi, gakkou gurashi, osomatsu-san, rolling girls, and concrete revolutio.
Thoughts on fune wo amu? It wasn't on par with shawa genroku but did give a similar feeling and I felt it did a pretty decent job of character exploration and visual metaphor. Also I would probably give Mob Psycho 100 and Yuri on Ice a place on my list but overall I pretty much agee completely. Shawa Genroku fit a special spot with me and I loved everything about it. Can't wait for the second season. Also love your thoughts on each show and that you give a more personal reason on why you liked each show.
While I enjoyed some shows this year, including Sound! Euphonium S2, Snow White with the Red Hair S2, 91 Days, Yuri on Ice, Flying Witch, Erased, Sweetness and Lightning, Mob Psycho 100, Flip Flappers, etc... I wouldn't really call any of them one of my favorites. But far and away I would say so about Rakugo Shinjuu. That series really surprised me with how much it grabbed me. I have not gotten far enough in March Comes in Like a Lion to rank it. I felt this year, while not having too many series I would consider favorites, had a really nice variety from accessible, popcorn shows to those with a more niche audience.
I thought this was a good year for anime. I stuck with all the shows I watched until the end. Amanchu, Flip Flappers, Flying Witch, Gi@rlish Number, Kuma Miko, etc. Now I have a few more to watch thanks to this vid.
So glad to see Shouwa Genroku at #1. Truly a very unique show that was full of surprises, smooth flashbacks, and engaging characters that were complemented from the expressive medium of rakugo.
I'd liked a mention of Mob Psycho or JoJo, but these are probably just not your type of series. I can overall agree with your list, especially on Gundam Thunderbolt, Flip Flappers, Rakugo and 3-gatsu no Lion. Though I wouldn't have picked KonoSuba into it, its comedy was very hit or miss for me.
I don't remember much about *Gundam Thunderbolt*, but I remember thinking it was pretty damn amazing as an experience. The emotional core of *3-gatsu no Lion* and Rei's struggles are engaging and well-presented. I also like the lighthearted elements and I think they're relevant and necessary to the themes. However, they are, in turn, presented absolutely dreadfully. This probably comes from adapting the manga without actually "adapting" it. Calling attention to small throwaway panels and reading manga SFX, it seems, and I hate that. Good show still. I'm glad to see *Kuromukuro* here since it doesn't get much attention. It might not be a solid show by all standards, but I liked it. Something in it captivated me in a way many action shows don't. I think the best moments were mundane ones, like Yukina making gyoza with her mom while arguing or fun ones, like the gang filming a shitty movie. *Konosuba* seems to have hit the right notes better for other people than me. I did like it, but compared to other anime comedies from past years, I didn't think it was too special. For this year, it's the cream of the crop though, pretty dead year for anime comedies. I remember *91 Days* as that show where I was uncharacteristically invested in the plot, considering I tend to be drawn to characters more. Unfortunate production issues aside, I really liked it and had no qualms with the ending that seemed to divide opinions. Didn't watch *Tonkatsu DJ Agetarou*, probably the only non-sequel show from this year that I feel like I missed. Will go back to watch it some day. I wasn't very impressed with *Flying Witch*. I enjoyed watching it, but I wasn't enthralled by it, I didn't think much of the characters and overall I never particularly looked forward to the next episode. *Flip Flappers* is good. Very good. The passion and care that was poured into making it really come through and I can't wait for the final episode to air and people smarter than me analyzing it. I did like the earlier episodes more than the recent ones, though. I think the change in writer really shows in the structure and mood. I think *Amanchu!* was one of the few shows this year that nearly made me cry. No other show had as strong a grip on my mood. I was completely swept away in the atmosphere and the emotions of the characters. This is one of those shows that are truly beautiful, and I'm not just talking about aesthetics. *Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu* is the best show from this year. I loved it, but even deeper than my love for it is my appreciation for it. Thematic depth, excellent presentation, compelling drama, characters that are written for the story instead of the audience, what more can you ask for, really? Season 2 would single-handedly save Winter 2017 even if nothing else that's worthwhile aired. My favorites besides the one you mentioned: *Yuri!!! on Ice* is the most fun I've had watching anime possibly ever. It's a show I could watch forever. The ending seemed like it was altered for a sequel, which is a pretty awful move, but if that sequel does come, I'll forgive it. It's a series about love and passion and I feel like it made use of its time efficiently (with often a bit too much of a breakneck pace). It had a delightful relationship plot but as you can feel from the finale with all 6 programs shown, above all it's about figure skating. The surprisingly actually funny comedy and overall lighthearted atmosphere made it a blast to watch. The music was so damn good, too. Man, I feel like this show gets women and girls and what they want on a level that no anime I've seen has reached and it's hard not to just gush over it. *Mob Psycho 100* was visually my favorite anime from this year, and lo and behold, it also has substance behind it. I love stories about familial relationships and I was really moved by Mob's inner conflict and Mob and Ritsu's complicated relationship. Reigen is also the bestest of boys this whole year. *Re:Zero*, the other popular and questionably good time travel thriller from this year. Yeah, the whale arc dragged and in the end you feel a bit empty, like nothing was achieved, but what I remember most from it is tension and excitement, eagerly waiting for the next problem to arise, next solution to be realized, next episode to air. Some moments in Re:Zero are the best this year and sometimes that's enough.
I started watching this video yesterday and 2 mins, 10 seconds in I saw a suggestion I liked the sound of - 3-gatsu no Lion, and i'm loving it. Can't wait to un-pause this video and watch the other suggestions! lol. Going to finish the anime first though.
The moment DJ Agetaro popped up here, I knew it was something I had to watch. Love the simple art design, and hopefully I get as much from it narratively
Slightly above average. I only liked Erased that came out of the abysmal winter season. Nothing caught my eye for spring and summer, I watched a few older series that I had sitting on my shelf and one I borrowed which were meh to decent but fall has had some real gems for me that I'll love for a long time to come.
I agree almost entirely with this list, but I'm surprised to see Kuma Miko getting an honorable mention. That show started out very strong, but it devolved by the end into something truly disgusting and insulting to its own characters and world. I can honestly say I've never before seen such a relentless downward spiral.
hey, quality video as always. I was wondering on your stance on mob psycho, one of my favourites this year, with its fantastic animation, and characters.
1) Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju 2) Mob Psycho 100 3) Flying Witch 4) Konosuba 5) Jojo Part 4 6) Amanchu 7) 3 gatsu no lion 8) Sakamoto desu ka 9) 91 Days 10) Boku no Hero Academia Still need to watch most of the shows from this season. I thought Amanchu was really held back by its setting and the fact they focused too much on the technical aspects of diving with Teko. It really pales in comparison to Aria in every way, but it's still good.
I'm so glad I started Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu! It really is a splendid anime, I did not expect a 40 minute pilot episode but that's okay, because the rest was beautiful! Stunning visuals, I love the soundtrack (It's jazzy and reminds me of Durarara) and I love the character's personalities: especially Yakumo and Sukeroku! I was so surprised that the anime decided to actually exploit the comedic storytelling style of Rakugo as well within the anime, on first glance it seems as though they'll just gloss over their performances but as the story unfolds the viewer gets to watch all the skits happen and a lot of their skits are hilarious in their own right. . .Seriously, if you aspire to learn more about Japanese comedy and culture I do suggest you watch this. I'm only 5 episodes in but that's enough to say I'm thoroughly enjoying it!
I couldn't even make a top 10 anime, maybe 7 or 6 at most. So many shows just don't deserve to be recommended. Although part of the reason for not having enough shows for a top 10 is because I skipped several slice of lfe shows because I didn't feel in the mood for them, like Amanchu or Flying Witch, but I'll check them out later. It seems that this was a great year for Slice of Life anime.
1. Blood Blockade Battlefront 2. My Hero Academia 3. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K 4. Mob Psycho 100 5. Bungou Stray Dogs 6. Flip Flappers 7. Konosuba 8. Re:Zero 9. Yuri on Ice 10. 3-Gatsu no Lion
Right now my AotY is Swagamoto, followed by Udon no LotsOfKs, MP100, Amanchu and Tonkatsu. But I expect all those to soon be toppled by Shouwa and Flip Flappers once I watch them. Most other stuff I watched I found to be at best just alright, but considering the recent track record of modern anime, I'd say my list is better than I expected.
1. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu(The dark horse of 2016) 2. Jojo(Duh) 3. Fune Wo Amu(Kinda like Rakugo, which surprised me, having two really good slice of life) 4. Amanchu(Duh) 5. Space Patrol Luluco(FK YEAH TRIGGER btw cant wait for little witch academia anime) 6.. Mob Psycho 100(Liked the characters a lot and also read the web comic) 7. Re:Zero(Don't like all the edginess and plot convenience of the resets but decent enough) 8. Kuma Miko(Ending was questionable but overall good slice of life) 9. Sekkou Boys(Pure mindless fun) 10. 91 Days(Not as good as Bacanno tho) Honourable mentions: Yuri!!! on ICE(Pretty good sport Anime) amaama to inazuma(Barakamon was better) 3-gatsu no Lion(The consistent tone shifting really kills the mood) Drifters(Also bad tone shifts but done a bit better tho not much substance+lot of edge, but usually works in its favour) Boku no Hero(average shouen) Erased(It tried but was rly predictable[We all knew who the villain was] and I hate how its time travel was used as plot convenience)
This is a little late, but the reason Fune wo Amu and SGRS are similar is because the original manga for each series was created by the same author, Kumota Haruko.
i really liked: amanchu haikyu third season orange - which i was suprised you didnt mention 😅☺☺☺ days alderamin on the sky AND yuri on ice (in no particular order)
@animeveryday if you are looking for a new anime to watch . how do you do that ? do you watch anime recommandations of other people or is there a specific method that you follow?
I came back to anime this year after a 2 year hiatus so I probably have a few things to catch up on. This is a great list you have, whilst there are a few I've seen and enjoyed there are also a number I haven't seen but will now seek out to watch. Some of my fav from this year include: Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Mob Psycho 100 Yuri!!! On Ice 91 Days Haikyuu!! Boku no Hero Academia
It would help to have some background, though. Thunderbolt is an anime which showcases a lot of action and awesome mechs, but it doesn't really explore the motivations of the factions, or the reason for the war in the first place, so a little history is recommended. A quick peek at the synopsis of Gundam 0079 will do the trick. Though it is very good if you just want some mech-on-mech action.
The anime that I really watch after reading all the summaries during that time is : Genroku and I praise the anime a lot. I thought it would not be appeared in your list but I glad it took the 1st place. ")B
Might get hate for this but i really liked Keijo, it was fun and light but also gave nice characters sure its fan serves but i cared if the characters won the fights and where they are going
My top 5: (only counting new series here, so no second seasons or remakes) 5. Erased 4. ReLIFE 3. Dangan Ronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy 2. My Hero Academia 1. Re;Zero
my top 10 Anime 2016: Flip Flappers La Tortue rouge (partially an anime movie) 3-gatsu no Lion Mahoutsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito (OVA) Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu Flying Witch Sarusuberi: Miss Hokusai (anime movie) Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows Amanchu! Natsume Yuujinchou Go Anime I didn't watch yet but are probably very good: Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni (anime movie) Da Yu Hai Tang (chinese animation movie) Kimi no Na wa. (anime movie) Kubikiri Cycle (OVA) Koe no Katachi (anime movie) Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari Fune wo Amu Mob Psycho 100
I never understood dislikes on a "My opinion list" video on youtube. I bet they are the anime elitists who call you dumb for not watching a certain show or liking another lol
It`s almost unexpected to not find Mob Psycho on the list.
2016 gave me mob psycho
thank you 2016
Kizuna 2016 gave me butthurt attention seeking haters online, f*ck you Kizuna and many others!
Surprised you didn't mention Mob Psycho. Nice list though.
I watched some of Mob Psycho, I can appreciate it but it's not really my thing.
No it did.
MRCLT1994 mob and jojo
+Keyboard Jesus It literally just began to explore the ideas it presented, though. The series isn't over.
+AnimeEveryday Mob Psycho did start off a bit slow (unlike One Punch Man which just threw you into it), but it was very surprisingly good. The fight scenes, especially in the last arc of the season, were absolutely fantastic as well. You really should give it another try.

Thoughts on the latest episode? I thought the TV format hurt it since it felt a bit rushed. Really hope it nails the finale.
You are definitely my favourite anime youtuber. All of your videos are so well put together and insightful that it's hard to choose whether I'd watch these or anime itself! I hope 2017 goes well for you and you never stop making these videos.

Thanks! :)
I really liked your comments. Made this list feel not so personal, but fruit from experienced eye and sensibility.
Thank you :)

8/10s- Rakugo, Durarara x2, Re:Zero, Erased, Haikyuu 3rd Season, ReLife, Flying Witch, (Tanaka-Kun, and Shokugeki S2 - these are both candidates to drop to 7s)
I am not too sad/mad about not seeing Yuri on Ice on here, since it's not an anime but a lifetime commitment. It's clearly No. 1 in everything, let's be real. It's pure perfection and it makes me so happy *-*
I agree 100% what you said about Rakugo! It's pleasant to hear "bigger" anitubers talking about rakugo and promoting it. Nice list man ;)
Just realised I haven't seen a single 2016 show yet... been watching older ones for the whole year, so this video surely helps me.
Love that you mentioned Flip Flappers!! That was my #3 pick for the year as well and I feel it does not get talked about enough.
well this was the golden year of anime for me, a really good year indead! Here's my list:
1. Mob Psycho 100
2. D.Gray-Man Hallow
3. Re:Zero
4. Kizumonogatari 1 and Koyomimonogatari (yet to see the second Kizu movie, including it as 1 count, due to them being in the same storyline)
5. Macross Delta
6. Mobile Suit Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans +Thunderbolt (I'm including the 2 of them as 1 count, because a lot of MSG IBO had aired in 2015 and will air in 2017! And they are related by name but not story, so yeah)
7. Ushio To Tora Season 2
8. Jojo Part 4
9. Rakugo
10. Ajin (both seasons)
thanks for the video!
I guess by now I should finally watch Shouwa Genroku ^^
Great Video btw.
You definitely should!
Thanks :)
Rakugo is a really great series, when you're able to get into it.
For me it's the better of the year, the world would be a better place with more anime like that.
Next season around the corner, and while you are at it watch Fune wo Amu also.
It's getting a second season in the winter so you need to finish it quick to catch up!
Sylenca watch it
were is keijo tho
keijo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
indeed my friend, indeed!
My man Holden :) All the tracks are from Chillhop Record's winter collection: chillhop.bandcamp.com/album/chillhop-essentials-winter-2016
Hope you have a good one too man!
AnimeEveryday Thank you for the early Christmas Present my dude ^_~
_____ this show had such a profound affect on me. it was such a surprise, what it was able to do in just 13 episodes blew me away.
Cool list, mine is:
5 - Erased
4 - Mob Psycho 100
3 - 91 Days
2 - Boku no Hero
1 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
this has been my first year of seasonal anime viewing and its been pretty great
I don't think I have a top 10, but I did really like
Concrete Revolutio, Raguko, 91 Days, Diamond if Unbreakable and Ushio to Tora. Though 2 of them are titles that started last year
You've like, perfectly pinned down the reason why gangster anime isn't as widespread. Kudos!
Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt is very serious and heck so is Iron Blooded Orphans (not as much as Thunderbolt though)
March Comes in Like a Lion does have seriousness to it!
feel free to tell me what you think of all of these, and I can list even more!
They're not as good as ping pong(that kind of masterpiece anime only comes once in a while), but they are pretty great stories that focuses on the characters and themes.
thePANDEMlC wow you clearly not watched any anime, plenty of dark stuff this year.
Nice to see Kuromukuro in this list!! It's one of my favorites from this year tbh :) Thanks for mentioning it!
Great music behind the video. Chillhop Essentials has some great albums. Good taste!
Great to see Kuromukuro mentioned. Loved that show.
At least shows like Mob Psycho and others have experimented with trippy colors
jmiquelmb ikr. And when that shit shows up in a GHOST IN THE SHELL OVA ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Yeah, good old anime like Project A-ko clearly had an idea to convey...
NykowPalalum I never said that old shows are better or much different just because they're older, if that's what you're implying.
My list is still pretty much up in the air, but it'll probably look something close to this:
1. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
2. Mob Psycho 100
3. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable
4. Flip Flappers
5. 3-gatsu no Lion
6. Yuri!!! On Ice
7. Hai to Gensou no Grimgar
8. My Hero Academia
9. Flying Witch
10. Hibike!
I am curious what editing program do you use for your videos ? It always looks so smooth and professional.
Could do a top ten of 2016 with none of these .. Oh the magic of anime...
My top 10 of the year:
1. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
2. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable
3. Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky
4. Mob Psycho 100
5. Ajin
6. Orange
7. 91 Days
8. Sakamoto desu ga?
9. Flying Witch
10. Konosuba
My favorites besides the one you mentioned:
*Yuri!!! on Ice* is the most fun I've had watching anime possibly ever.
I've started watching anime since the start of spring 2014, but I must agree, 2016 is a good year
yo great job with commenting on this video, love the smooth music while keeping it simple
Mob Psycho, Rakugo and Hibike Euphonium are my favs of the year
Rakugo Shinju is indeed miles away from all of its competition last year. Even S2 right now is killing it. Such a great show.
Rakugo and Lupin III were by far and away my favorites.
man I'm gonna miss flip flappers and flying witch
cant wait for thunderbolt part 2 though!
Agreed :)
YAAASS I've been waiting for this, I predicted your number #1 :)
damn man your back with a vengeance! keep it up
My top 10:
1. Natsume Yuujinchou Go
2. Flip Flappers
3. Tanaka-kun is Always Listless
4. Flying Witch
5. Space Patrol Luluco
6. New Game!
7. Mob Psycho 100
8. 3-gatsu no Lion
9. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
10. Amanchu!
Nice list, I still need to check out the new Natsume Yuujinchou. Really enjoyed the previous seasons.
Enjoy it! It's a treat
Thank you, and Thanks for the recommendations
Very good list. I'm especially happy about 91 days, amanchu and shouwa genroku. :)
Slightly above average. I only liked Erased that came out of the abysmal winter season. Nothing caught my eye for spring and summer, I watched a few older series that I had sitting on my shelf and one I borrowed which were meh to decent but fall has had some real gems for me that I'll love for a long time to come.
Didn't watched the video, but I saw Rakugo on the cover so I agree with whatever you say.
Happy Christimas.
I watched all the shows in your list except showa , the board player one and mafia one
I loved 2016 and thanks for the video , a good watch
Everyone of your videos reminds me why I'm subscribed to you ;)
I agree almost entirely with this list, but I'm surprised to see Kuma Miko getting an honorable mention.
1. Re:Zero
2. Konosuba
3. ReLIFE
4. Boku no Hero
5. Saiki K
2016 was a fun year for me 👐
This is my list for 2016~
Konosuba
Aokana
Re zero
Flying witch
Mob physco 100
Izetta the last witch !
1) Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinju
2) Mob Psycho 100
3) Flying Witch
4) Konosuba
5) Jojo Part 4
6) Amanchu
7) 3 gatsu no lion
8) Sakamoto desu ka
9) 91 Days
10) Boku no Hero Academia
Still need to watch most of the shows from this season. I thought Amanchu was really held back by its setting and the fact they focused too much on the technical aspects of diving with Teko. It really pales in comparison to Aria in every way, but it's still good.
Loved this video, you mentioned several anime shows I haven't seen and I'm so excited to watch them :D. Keep up the awesome videos my dude!
hey man really like your videos .keep up the good work
I'm so glad I started Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu!
1. Blood Blockade Battlefront
2. My Hero Academia
3. The Disastrous Life of Saiki K
4. Mob Psycho 100
5. Bungou Stray Dogs
6. Flip Flappers
7. Konosuba
8. Re:Zero
9. Yuri on Ice
10. 3-Gatsu no Lion
You're going the be the first original host of "Inside the Anime Studio". :D
Showa definitely tops all the shows this year, once you get past the long first episode. Has some of the best directing, voice work, and music
1. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu(The dark horse of 2016)
2. Jojo(Duh)
3. Fune Wo Amu(Kinda like Rakugo, which surprised me, having two really good slice of life)
4. Amanchu(Duh)
5. Space Patrol Luluco(FK YEAH TRIGGER btw cant wait for little witch academia anime)
6.. Mob Psycho 100(Liked the characters a lot and also read the web comic)
7. Re:Zero(Don't like all the edginess and plot convenience of the resets but decent enough)
8. Kuma Miko(Ending was questionable but overall good slice of life)
9. Sekkou Boys(Pure mindless fun)
10. 91 Days(Not as good as Bacanno tho)
Honourable mentions:
Yuri!!! on ICE(Pretty good sport Anime)
amaama to inazuma(Barakamon was better)
3-gatsu no Lion(The consistent tone shifting really kills the mood)
Drifters(Also bad tone shifts but done a bit better tho not much substance+lot of edge, but usually works in its favour)
Boku no Hero(average shouen)
Erased(It tried but was rly predictable[We all knew who the villain was] and I hate how its time travel was used as plot convenience)
This is a little late, but the reason Fune wo Amu and SGRS are similar is because the original manga for each series was created by the same author, Kumota Haruko.
Gintama imo was the best anime this year.
i really liked:
amanchu
haikyu third season
orange - which i was suprised you didnt mention 😅☺☺☺
days
alderamin on the sky AND
yuri on ice
(in no particular order)
Here's my favorites of the year:
1. Re:Zero
2. Kiss Him Not Me
3. Jojo: DiU
4. Erased
5. Mob Psycho 100
Rakugo Shinjuu was my favourite of last year with Re:Zero second
@animeveryday
if you are looking for a new anime to watch .
how do you do that ?
do you watch anime recommandations of other people or is there a specific method that you follow?
I came back to anime this year after a 2 year hiatus so I probably have a few things to catch up on. This is a great list you have, whilst there are a few I've seen and enjoyed there are also a number I haven't seen but will now seek out to watch.
Some of my fav from this year include:
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
Mob Psycho 100
Yuri!!! On Ice
91 Days
Haikyuu!!
Boku no Hero Academia
Some of my favourite include JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Mob Psycho 100, and, of course, Yuri!!! On Ice!
1. sangatsu
2. keijo
3. shouwa
4. konosuba
5. Mob psycho
That's my top 5 (excluding sequels) for 2016.
Barely anyone watched thunderbolt fantasy but it is such a good show
Great video yet again!
Fune wo Amu? Did you watch it? It's my favorite anime this year.
Love the background music
:)
This year has been overloaded with 6-7/10s
I fall asleep watching flying witch
Can I jump in to gundam thunderbolt without watching anything from the universal century timeline?
Yup :)
AnimeEveryday thanks will check out soon!!
Indeed it was a great year!
10.Flip Flappers
9. Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!!
8. 91 Days
7. Drifters
6. KonoSuba
5. Ajin
4.Re: Zero
3. Food Wars!
2. Mob Psycho 100
1. JoJo: Diamond Is Unbreakable
Might get hate for this but i really liked Keijo, it was fun and light but also gave nice characters sure its fan serves but i cared if the characters won the fights and where they are going
My top 5: (only counting new series here, so no second seasons or remakes)
5. Erased
4. ReLIFE
3. Dangan Ronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak Academy
2. My Hero Academia
1. Re;Zero
Honestly, save for Danganronpa and BnHA I agree with 3 shows you have up there. Needs more 91Days and Rakugo.
my top 10 Anime 2016:
Flip Flappers
La Tortue rouge (partially an anime movie)
3-gatsu no Lion
Mahoutsukai no Yome: Hoshi Matsu Hito (OVA)
Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
Flying Witch
Sarusuberi: Miss Hokusai (anime movie)
Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows
Amanchu!
Natsume Yuujinchou Go
Anime I didn't watch yet but are probably very good:
Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni (anime movie)
Da Yu Hai Tang (chinese animation movie)
Kimi no Na wa. (anime movie)
Kubikiri Cycle (OVA)
Koe no Katachi (anime movie)
Udon no Kuni no Kiniro Kemari
Fune wo Amu
Mob Psycho 100
that background music though man
You should come back in 2020
I never understood dislikes on a "My opinion list" video on youtube. I bet they are the anime elitists who call you dumb for not watching a certain show or liking another lol
2016 gave me re:zero so it was pretty great
Surprised kuma miko got a mention
I haven't really watched too many anime this year, unfortunately.
1. Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu
2. Diamond is Unbreakable
3. Mob Psycho 100
4. Flip Flappers
5. Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt
6. Amanchu!
7. Orange
8. Kuromukuro
9. Sakamoto desu ga?
10. Flying Witch
Honourable mentions • 91 Days; Konosuba, 3-gatsu no Lion, Tanaka-kun, Space Patrol Luluco.
