The Brady Bunch House Under Construction - Today Show 2/7/19

Natalie Morales is a lucky Brady Bunch fan and she knows it, because she gets to hang out with the grown actors who portrayed the Brady kids. And she gets to do it in the real* Brady Bunch house during production of HGTV's unprecedented series.
*In 2018, HGTV paid 3.5 million dollars for the "real" Brady Bunch house located in Studio City, California. Day and night exteriors of the house were used to match the fictional interiors filmed on stage 5 at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
If you study the real exterior and the fake interior you'll notice that the 2nd story or split level do not match. That's not stopping HGTV, who says they plan to remodel the house in Studio City so that the interior, which looks nothing like it's fictional counterpart, matches the sets as close as possible. They are going to need a lot of wood paneling and burnt orange Formica!
The real excitement is that HGTV reunited all 6 Brady "kids" for their new show, A Very Brady Renovation. This latest Brady Bunch incarnation will premier in September 2019 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the original Brady Bunch show's debut.
I've heard talk that HGTV plans to give the house to a super Brady Bunch fan that will have to win it in some kind of competition. Perhaps that is the climax of A Very Brady Renovation or it could be a 2nd series where Brady super fans compete for the house. We will have to stay tuned.
I plan to update progress on construction monthly until it is completed. Who knows, maybe I'll run into one of the Bradys?
