      Still waiting on shop to diagnose it. If my code is PO299 does that mean I need to replace complete Turbo or could be a part only in there that needs replacing like how your doing the waist gate or be something else. I know you said send to you and you could fix it. What are your thoughts on this? Really appreciate your help. Is it difficult to take off the turbo?

    I used your video as a guide and successfully fixed mine! Mine wasnt throwing the P0299 fault but the rattle was driving me insane! Only difference is when assembly, I installed it with alot of silver anti-seize in the wastegate bushing and the arm where the rod meets the arm!

    All you had to do was set the bushing in the hole and then run the drill bit through. That would have put the notch in the bushing precisely where it belongs. And you would not have to fight alignment.

    it would have been smarter to pop the cylinder in then drill once in place again to make the groove for the push-pin.

  • @darrellroireau4061
    @darrellroireau4061 Рік тому +1

    Hi thx for great content.
    Question: If the wastegate arm is tight do you think it could typically still be a loose and worn flapper inside?
    My Obdeleven graph showed making boost on full throttle but then losing boost short after. It even made zig zag patterns which is puzzling to me
    Any advice appreciated thanks 🙏

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  Рік тому +1

      the only real way to tell is disconnect the linkage which is very difficult or impossible. Remove and inspect the n75 for torn diaphragm and replace it if its torn. Make sure there are no boost leaks.

    I have this same code but mine doesn't have any play from the outside it seems. Thinking next step should be to replace the bypass valve. 130,000km on mine.

    • @CoolAirVw
      @CoolAirVw  3 роки тому

      Yeah, I probably should have shown that in the diagnosis. Pull the bypass valve and see if it is a early style or if there is a rip in the diaphragm. But sometimes the actuator can be stuck also. Plus it can be hard to see the slop.

    • @MrDutch1e
      @MrDutch1e 3 роки тому

      @@CoolAirVw bugs me because I had a brass rebuild kit I had for my gti but then I traded it in and sold the kit lol. I don't think it's my actuator as its in closed position. If it was a stuck actuator causing the code it would have to be stuck open wouldn't it?

      I think coincidentally while using the torch I tempered the roll pin. I had heated the turbo, then let it cool slowly, as I was interrupted, then it drilled relatively easily when got back to it later.
