@@punybox volume 3 contains more than 40 issues, including quite a few double-sized issues though, and extras, so it would be feasible though

@@oxmeatpete Agreed! I cant believe DC makes so few non-Batman Omnibus! :( Doesn't Justice League sell? Even stuff like Byrne's Superman, Starman, Alan Moore's Swamp Thing,... got cancelled Omnibus andreleases in other formats. o.O
@@punybox honestly…all other non-Batman products must not… which is sad and will continue to cause these “other” titles to sparingly surface. You’d think with the release of the Snyder JLA movie this year we’d see an uptick with more JLA Omnis than what has come out. All I know is these Bronze JLA Omnis will be first day buys for be whenever they happen.

FYI: DCBS canceled some pre-order books recently because of the switch in distributors from Diamond to Penguin Random House. They have the Soule Vader and Sith omni available for pre-order right now on their site for just a slightly higher price than before. That's why they canceled the older orders. You just have to go on the site and reorder them this month if you get a cancel notice.
Got my copy of this yesterday. I remember reading all of these when they first appeared. Perfect place for this volume to end as Dick Dillan passed away soon afterwards, and George Perez stepped in to eventually be followed by Don Heck as permanent artist
DC had gone back to the old design? I quite liked my Bronze Age Doom Patrol,Joker, Robin Omnibus covers...they look like candy on the shelf. I got an artist to alter a Silver Age Doom Patrol Omni to match the design....great review.
Thanks so much for getting this for an overview. THIS is my JLA. Satellite years is my favorite run. I have all the silver age and Bronze Age omnis. It’s near impossible to get thru the silver age stuff but the JL is to me how X-men is to you. I’m hoping they do right and finish out this run because I’d love to have a full run of original jla.
I love the silver age, like the golden age and some of the Bronze age. Everything after that is "not my cup of tea". I have been hanging out for this volume ever since it was cancelled... glad to see it come out so I can finally complete my Silver Age and Bronze Age JLA Omnibus series. Red Tornado is one of my favourite DC characters.

This looks great! For me the Classic Silver/Bronze Age Justice league is better than anything Marvel ever put out (including the X-Men).
I love Bronze age books. I’m not into the newer stuff.
Nice overview, I am really excited for the Bronze Age Batman: The Brave & the Bold omnibus 3 due out in September (which like this JLA one has been solicited/cancelled a few times)

After the JLoA Archives ended, I pieced together all the issues up to the start of the Detroit era. I had most of them bound into HCs too. Such a fun run of comics. Dick Dillon's art is just awesome!

Agreed. I think they can finish it off in 2 or 3 volumes, so I hope they do.
Not a big fan of JL myself, but I did actually enjoy the Detroit years quite a bit, not as much as JLI, but definitely way more than I thought I would after reading about it 🤷♂️ I kinda think it might be in no small part due to the fact, that I never had much of an attachement to the original JL and thus could not be bothered by their absence and the shift in setting.
Looking at this now, I wonder if I should go back and get these Bronze age books, that (hopefully one day) lead directly into Detroit. Still not sure about the stories, but the art seems fantastic.

Incidentally I just got notified that Excalibur volume 2, Savage Sword of Conan volume 6 and Captain Britain omnibus books have been canceled by the publisher.
That's fantastic that it contains material from the Amazing World of DC Comics JLA issue. I loved that magazine and read it so much it fell apart finally. Can't wait to get this!!!
I only have the Swamp Thing as well Batgirl 1&2 Omnibu and I enjoyed them a great deal. Most of all though, the art in these books to me is just divine (Carmine Infantino doing Batgirl 😍👌). Never was a big fan of (classic) JL, but seeing the art in this one makes me reconsider getting these omnibu at well - love it! 👍
Well shit, I had given up on this book ever coming out. Looks like I'll have to put it on my Xmas list this year since I've already preordered like 8 Marvel omnis coming out over the next several months and don't have the money for this.
I have sp much been looking forward to this. I have always lived Giant Size comics- both the reprint kind and those with longer stories so I am pleased I will now have the end of the run of Justice League Giants. BUT Your video shows that this Omnibus is even more fantastic than that. We also have issues of the great Super Team Family comic. Supergirl rarely looked sexier than Alan Weiss's rendition of her in tgat team up. He was an artist I wish we had seen more of. I thought that was a great era for art in DC comics with artists like him and Mike Nasser/ Netzer popping up randomly.
And also we have some nice Super Spectacular coverage the great Neal Adams cover for the Worlds Greatest Superheroes with all the Justice League heroes. I remember picking that up in a newsagent near where I lived on Scotland and being so excited by that cover.
I feel a bit about golden age stories the way you do about silver age Omar so I understand where you ate coming from. I think sometimes you have to grow up with stuff.

Just got an email from dcbs that my young avengers and soule darth Vader omnibus preorders have been canceled
My fond memory when I was a kid ws turning to the first page to see who was in the "Roll Call" to see who was in the book, the same with the LoSH. It was a shame they dropped that fun feature. Damn just found out Vol #1 is OOP. Curse you DC. Will have to buy this and #2 and hope to get #1 another time. And this book #3 has lots of LoSH/JLA geeky goodness crossovers.
Should I buy this one if I don’t have the first one and second one. They are out of print.

There is so little DC gold/silver/bronze age in youtube that it hurts (everyone loves Marvel's silver age, but DC's silver age not so much) C'mon, Omar, review the pre crisis omnis for the fans (all 5 of us).

I hope it’s nothing political between them/Lunar and Marvel/Penguin. That’s my worry. That’s not an easy fix.

Dillin also drew a lot of World's Finest Comics, especially the issues where Superman teamed with other characters besides Batman. DC released a HC of some of these issues a year or two ago. I loved Dillin's art and was stunned when he died. Without the internet or much in the way of fandom, it took getting that first issue drawn by Perez to find out.
