Sure had me concerned when the rotors spun backwards. Then the pilot called out Aerostar and I settled down. I prefer American made aircraft; Bell helicopters are my preference. Still, good crew usage and a fine mission. These three men are heroes for what they do daily. God bless them and keep 'em safe.
Thank you for the video and for what u do u n your bird are angels without you all n the bird lives would not be saved please make a video showing the back
Dirtman707 I wish I could! I have “retired” from being a firefighter and a flight paramedic. I am now a professional pilot, so unfortunately I no longer ride on the helicopter.
Runway Ryan you could ask your boss if you could video your flights and tell them it would be for training purposes and upload them to UA-cam for other pilots to watch
I miss the A star as a Flight Nurse/Paramedic. I currently work on the 407. I've worked on 407s in the past and there are things I like about it, but the A star is superior in just about every way for doing the job, when comparing smaller helicopters.
stewart baker thanks for the comment! I no longer work at the helicopter, and we were a VFR only program. That being said, I do currently fly MEDEVAC on a Learjet as a pilot this time. I know it’s not as cool as rotor wing, but I am investigating the legality of filming these flights, and considering if that is something I want to do.
@@TheRunwayRyan no investigation necessary. It’s 100% legal. There’s nothing in the reg’s stopping us. Just don’t video the patient and you don’t have to worry about HIPAA.
Hey thanks! Check out some of my other videos and check back in the future. I should be putting some more videos up before too long. Should be a mix of fixed wing and helicopter flying with ATC, so I’m sure you’ll be on more.
Currently going through Lake Superior College, should be graduated by the end of the year. The college portion has been pretty good, though they are going through a bit of an admin shuffle. The flight training (which is through Lake Superior Helicopters) has been great though. The instructors are awesome and know their shit. The school is in Duluth, MN so the winters can be rough, but the city and surrounding areas are amazing! Lots of national parks to hike, ski hills, and (my personal favorite) lots of breweries and distilleries.
Everyone is so desperate for pilots these days you don’t even need to worry with wasting time in college or the military. Just get your ticket at a local flight school and instruct for a year afterward then you can pretty much pick your dream job.
We did not use a callsign, just flew with the tail number which was N350BH. If we were on the way to a call or had a patient on board we said "Medevac" first. So "Medevac 350BH" or "Medevac Helicopter 350BH".
need more helicopter videos like this on youtube
Medical Helicopters help to save lives on a daily basis and that is a blessing.
That start up was amazing
I agree, there is not much better than the sound of a turbine engine starting up!
@@TheRunwayRyan dude, you should try hooking up with a chick sometime and I bet you change your opinion.😉😂🤣✌️
Absolutely! That sound right when you introduce fuel is the sweetest sound. 👍

Once you hear it you cannot un-hear it. lol
Rode on A-Stars for Care Flight in Reno. Always loved the whine.
Me too! Such a great sound!
Greatest Helio approach yet and thank you for what you and your Flight team does every to save lives
Hell yea Ryan! That has to be such a fun job.

Best. Job. Ever!
Shoulder belts are required when equipped…
Great video! What are cable are you using to record the atc audio?
Nflightcam’s gopro audio adapter
@@TheRunwayRyan thanks:)
The same cable he’s using to record the intercom audio. 😉

The day job.... love it
Not anymore unfortunately! I took an "early retirement" and left being a Firefighter/Flight Paramedic. Now I fly full time!
@@TheRunwayRyan Even better!
Thx for the ride along
Looks like a bumpy ride
Who was the flight crew
Thanks for sharing.
You bet
After I saw a couple of your videos I tried watching a couple others those guys are so self-centered they don't even have videos of flying LOL
If you watch and listen closely, you can see and hear ETL on take off

Kinda looks like 350BH. I miss that bird.
Very close! This was 911ES, our backup. 350BH was the primary though.
You need to get footage in the new bird. I have taken photos of the old bird.
Can I use this for a film I'm making? Great work!
