It looks disgusting, looks like small brains.”😢 I get now he was young (like 6YO) and came from a very wealthy white family so he probably never saw anything like litchis… but still. I felt like I was being disgusted for eating litchis. Since then I remember telling my mom to not ever pack litchies again in my lunch and I remember her finding it weird because I loved litchies.

I’m white but I absolutely love Asian food, I remember I brought left over Chinese food for lunch and I was so excited because of how good I was gonna eat. I was minding my own business enjoying my food when the table behind me started talking loud enough where I could hear them and they were making fun of me for what I was eating and asking me really dumb insensitive questions. They sat there, laughed and made comments at me while I ate my food. Needless to say I felt very embarrassed and felt like I had to put my food away so I wouldn’t be harassed.
Then you had a triumphant anti bully moment that made you popular and then had a makeover where you stopped wearing glasses and won homecoming king/queen and then got accepted to your dream college, right?
When I was in elementary, I would be constantly mocked for my kimbap and miyeokguk 🫠 Not to mention people coming up to me and saying "onion has a oh" 🤦🏻♀️
