I love that cockpit, even though it makes my ship feel wider than I typically like. It's hilarious to me that the first thing we want to do in a game where BGS finally has working ladders is to get rid of all the ladders.
@@veldin25I boost pack to the next level. It’s just high enough to grapple. Even with the sort of broken grappling it’s better than BGS’ attempt at ladders 😂
They made things slow that needed to be fast. Slow, clunky animation for mounting the ladder. No way to increase climbing speed. Can you imagine if we couldn't use boost packs inside ships? It would be infuriating. Honestly they should include a toggle that just teleports you to the floor above when you click a ladder.
My ship has 13,000 cargo, almost 400 particle damage, every module and can beat the UC fleet 25-1 and give me a 90,000 bounty at Atlantis. Plus 1000 fuel, max jump range . . . I also dislike ladders and made it one level.
One of my ships was purposefully designed to be a sluggish battleship with 3 different types of automatically-firing turrets (for a total of 12 turrets). It has a Mobility score of like…6. yes, SIX. Haha. I spent way too much time adding greebling lol. In a fight, I basically just offload the Engine/Grav Drive power into the three turret types and let them melt anything that dares approach. I’ve got turrets of every type covering above/below/each side/rear of the vessel, so I can just meander into the middle of a pack of ships and let the turrets do the rest. Doesn’t matter where they try to run, the turrets vaporize them haha. I feel a bit like I’m roleplaying as a Borg Cube, but I’m fine with that. (The ship does not actually look like a cube, it’s loosely-modeled after a mini Star Destroyer).
Been looking at a lot of ship builds, this one is hands down the cleanest and best looking. The flow of the interior is what I wanted the most, and you nailed it.
@@SimplestUsername There's a little arrow on attachment points which indicate possible ladder/doorways. The bigger issue is that we have no way to set a priority on which path is used without building in a particular order.
I got all the engines and I'm at level 51. I just need the grav drive and reactor. I have the ones that are just below the ones used, but I wouldn't mind stepping up.
Or just being able to set connection points, like in the same way we can place view ports. They should add an interior view, with the ability to edit these connections and ladders. Obviously if there's only one connection point, then it can't change. But when you have two habs side-by-side or on top of each other, then you should be able to modify or have multiple.
@@RotGodKing you are though. Depending on your Commerce skill (I think that is what it's called), you will lose credits selling it back after you confirm changes. While you're in the editor/builder mode, no you won't lose anything changing a part you didn't like. Just don't save until you're ready. Also, not sure if it's just me or if it's on purpose, but gather all the ammo you have inside the armory on display. If you save build changes, even if you don't touch or alter the armory, you'll lose it all. The main ship storage and some of the containers are safe but the cases and wall rack will disappear.
I've built this as you did, but with just one or two mods. I swapped the shielded cargo, and the hatch around, then moved the whole lot aft one frame. This A) stops you having to walk around the ship and B) brings you into the ship in the control room, right next to the bridge. But this is just a personal preference of mine - Love this build, it's gorgeous and just as good as you say!
This is exactly what I was planning on doing when I attempt this. Glad it worked out! I like not having a long walk if I don't hit to enter the cockpit every time.
I did somerhing similar. Moved the landing bay to the front and docking right above it. No more ladders or having to walk to reach bridge. I dont really like ladders and having to walk around in the ship in like a maze.
Just because it's been requested a few times, Parts: you can get all parts from Titan in the Sol System, hopetown, and your outpost shipbuilder. Locations here ua-cam.com/video/lLoKs-wNuOI/v-deo.html Cost: ~250,000 though significantly less if you use a cheaper parts. Class: C but you can use B or even A reactor. Just lower the quality of weapons, shields, grav drives relative to the decrease in class. You can build this frame very early on and slowly upgrade when you get the skills. Skills needed: Piloting 4 and Starship design 4 and level ~60. Though you can simply reduce the quality of the reactor like mentioned and it still is a great design. If you don't see a part, most likely you aren't the right level yet so use one below it.
Thank you! Amazing ship and I started with Razorleaf as the base, just got my first set of bandits running away with the voice lines. Makes you really feel like the next Mantis upgrading your ship like the last one.
@@jordayne4463 outposts are the way to level the fastest as far as I can tell. You use outposts to craft a bunch of small things for 1xp each, you just craft thousands at a time so thousands of xp at a time
There’s no possible way it’s only 250k. The reactor (76k) and grav drive (98k) alone are 175k. Shield generator 45k. Engines and weapons are expensive. This build is probably 600k minimum
My tip for a completly ladderless ship: use one of full size top dockers that are flippable so you can put it on the bottom. Connect whatever cockpit or bridge you're using to a hab at least 2x1 big. Put any of the bays with a top connection, like deimos or nova, facing forward connected to hab, then put your full size bottom docker behind it. This gives you two floor hatches next to each other, one for landing, one for docking in a perfect little embarkation area. Technically you can put this anywhere you want in relation to the bridge, facing any direction, but I like it the way I described. Minimises the walk from the pilot seat to either of the exits. And because ships always land on a pad, outpost or city, with the cockpit facing the entrance, having the bay as close to directly under the cockpit as possible minimises walking distance any time you can't or don't want to fast travel directly into the ship interior. It looks especially great with the Nova bridge. Your ship can be two interior decks with zero ladders, and the embarkation room is directly outside the stairs down on the bridge. Yes, the bay has a ladder, but I'm not counting that because 1 it's not in the ship interior, and 2 you never actually climb it, it works like any other area transition door.
I don't get it, so I need a docker that goes on the bottom, and a bay that goes on top, but they're next to each other and there aren't any ladders? wouldn't there be a ladder that goes to the top of the ship where the bay is? or am I being retarded. I just don't understand what's supposed to go on the bottom and what's supposed to go on top. edit: nvm I think I get it, nothing on goes top. The whole idea is to just have the landing bay and the docker adjacent to each other on the same level, on the bottom of the ship
@@UlfMTG Both go on the bottom. You want a bay where the top of the bay attach to the ship interior, like the one on the starter ship. Then you take one of the regular size dockers, again like the one on the starter ship, but you flip it (default key z) so the docking port face the ground. In the starting ship interior you get a floor hatch to the bay, and a ladder to the docker. If you flip the docker and put it next to the bay you just get a second floor hatch, and no ladder taking up space. Note that for some reason not every brand of full size docker (ie same size as a 1x1 hab piece) can be flipped to have the docking port facing down. Nova Galactic can't, but you can do it with a Deimos one.
holy cow this ship is a beast. Took all my credits to build and even though I couldn't match the weapons, it shreds ships. Forget about taking over ships with those auto turrets. Thank you for posting this. First ship build for me and taught me a lot.
Love the guide and your beautiful creation! Quick tip I found in the builder is if you double click on a piece it will select all pieces that are attached to the piece you double clicked. Just a litter quicker than Ctrl clicking all the pieces.
Screenshot at 1:03 shows Starfield's biggest weakness. The Boy Scout morally perfect companions that hate everything you do. I just want some more morally ambiguous or devious companions so I can fully embrace the pirate-bounty hunter roleplay I'm going for.
The ship builder is definitely quirky and strange in what it decides to do, can't wait for a mod that lets us choose where doors/ladders end up, as I nearly have lost my mind with how random the placement can get.
The thing annoying me the most is that the ship building preview of connection points tells white lies: habs have preferred connection points, a preferred NUMBER of connections, and a preferred FLOW of connections total (what I mean is that a hab chain will not allow an open circle and will instead prefer a closed line). If they would just TELL me some of these things, I'd be fine tinkering, but no preview and quite hefty costs due to warnings make it REALLY tedious to get right and test. Genuinely the first moment in this game that gave me "requires mods" vibes.
I have a medium sized ship with three levels. I built it hoping to get just 1 ladder straight up from the landing bay, but never got it to do that. The ladders were all random, and changed every time I've swapped out a hab for a different one. This last time I experimented, it actually gave me the single, centralized ladder. I am not touching those core three habs ever again xD
This is such an awesome design! thank you for this. Since I havent dove much into the main story yet, I did not have access to the 2 power engine. So I used the Titans. they give much more power and now I'm at 100. I switched around the landing bay to the front as i hate having to walk all the way around my ship. I also got rid of the two control stations and just swapped for a 2x2 battle stations instead. now i pop up right into the control center which is attached to the bridge when i enter the ship. I added a 3x1 berth and 3x1 living quarters to the wings instead and attached a Taiyo and Daimos 3x1 engineering bay below them just to add a bit of "engine room realism" to the ship and i'm still at 100 mobility. Will upload a screenshot soon!
This is a REALLY nice looking ship! I think that's one of this game's few weak points - the look of the ships involved. Mostly they're blocky hulks. THIS one is a really nice one. Well done, sir!
I agree. I don't mind that there are blocky ships, and they fit well with many models of ships... but it would be nice to have sleeker options, like more trim that makes things look less modular.
Agreed. Although, I think that Murasame, from Gagarin, is an exception. It really has a sleek design to the ship, and also great stats for a B class, even topping a lot of C class ships.
I just loathe that there are so many components that do NOTHING. Like the 'structural' components that can be huge, heavy, and cosmetic... yet do utterly nothing FOR the ship. These are SPACE ships, where room is at a premium. Every cubic centimeter should have a purpose, even if it's just cargo space.
This may be a little extreme for others. For me while I'm on my first playthrough, I've taken alotta pride in preserving the 'lineage' of my ship. What I mean is that I have a ship for every previous iteration of my currently updated ship. For example, the frontier was my Mark 1, a purchased ship was my Mark 2, the Mantis was my Mark 3 and finally, the ship my family gifted me is my Mark 4 in all its glory. Its been SO much fun going about it in this way, having models of my previous designs. Whether I look at em to reminisce or pull inspiration from them for future designs I dont regret the time or money spent preserving them!
@@PeteNice29 Of course it sounds ridiculous now, but you're not seeing the forest through the trees. 2 or 3 years down the road when I'm max lvl or even 10 years from now when I'm taking a stroll down memory lane I'll be thanking my past self for this. Its worth it to me, thats reason enough.
I dig it. For mine I'm adding things so it looks like it's been duct taped together. Structural braces and mismatching parts and it's a bit asymmetrical. I'm not saving iterations but its evolution is visible. A Railstar that's become rather chimeric.
I made a version of this today, but swapped out the rear Bay for a front Bay (don’t like running to the front of the ship when parked), and it looks awesome, like it has a mouth. The bay ladder goes straight into the control room and I did away with the companion ways at the rear. I didn’t add the wings though because I’m still on class B parts so not enough power yet.
lol same, when i made it and realized how much i have to run everytime, i said fuck it and put it in the front makes it easier to get on , and go to cockpit or the workshops. This also removes a opening right under the docking bay
So I built this ship and I really like it! Only at Lvl 28 at the moment so I can't get all the best engines, grav drives and power generators, but I have 30 power, two of the turrets, and the gauss and laser installed. It's a very maneuverable ship and even with just the two turrets, it's very capable in combat! It very much can get finnicky with the order things are assembled though that's for sure. Hilarious where it decided to place doors. I am SO GLAD to be done with ladders. Thanks for the step-by-step!
I think this is a beautiful ship, thanks a lot! :) The only thing I changed is move the entrance from all the back to all the front (as most landing spots force you do walk around the entire ship else).
For people trying to follow this build, there are a few bits locked behind a story mission you run with Walter. Namely with SAL-6380 and SA-4330 engines. Also don't have the top level grav drive, reactor, and gauss gun unlocked at level 50 - I'll have to track those down. Props for the great build and the coherent breakdown of the build order.
you can put a 2x2 battle station in the position of the control center and all in one berth at the front and it still works. i also put a 3x1 + hull structure for one wing, and two 2x1s for the other that have two hab cross braces each and it forms a perfect loop around the ship through the wings instead of just one path to the cockpit on the right. makes it so i have a reason to travel to the wings and its cool i can get to anywhere in the ship no matter the direction i go
Looks great I’ll use parts of it to make an improved Millennium Falcon. Or a FireFly. I’m still trying to figure out all the rules for the builds. Thanks a lot for this. It’s helped me figure out some of my problems with getting everything together.
Great build! I'm going to use many of the ideas in this design for my own ship. One suggestion I would make would be to use a different docker to eliminate the ladder in the aft companionway. There are top mounted dockers that have the appearance of a 1x1 hab, and place a docking ladder on the hab below them. They have all the same side connections as a 1x1 companionway, but they do not make any side entryways. You can't actually enter the docker space. You wouldn't need to climb a ladder to get to your boarding dock. Your boarding dock port exit would be right above your landing bay entrance, on the same level. It would also save a few tons of mass without having to finesse the fussy automatic door placement system.
This has to be my favorite ship build so far and it’ll really take something amazing to top it. Good job sir. Green is my color too, so you get extra cool points for that. Thank you for this build and this tutorial.
I kind of stumbled upon your video while looking for something else but am glad I did. The look and layout of this ship is simply amazing and it works so well! I made two slight modifications to mine because I hate having to run through a ship when boarding/unboarding so I put the ramp in the front, and the docking ring in the space behind the armory. It helps things move just a bit faster for me. I moved the shielded cargo to the rear and added another cargo hold to have more room to accommodate the changes. My grab drive and reactor are both one step down from yours because that's what I had available, but they still work great. Thank you for this!
Nice ship. May have to try this one later today. Well explained video too. Thank you. Pro tip: When you have an assembly of parts not connected to the main ship, double click selects all of the pieces at once for easy moving.
Want to say thanks for this tutorial, it help me take the Razorleaf apart and make it a badass class ship c. Using this help me learn about ship building. I used a lot of what you did but made some changes plus tried to keep some of the original ships part now renamed Razorleaf II
Access to 2 separate levels of the ship from the bridge is an absolute game changer in ship design. I stole one of these 2 nights ago and in no time had a version of it that fit my needs and then some. The 3 laser turrets are absolutely beastly and fire with and hard with just 1 pip of power or 2. I used 2 Taiyo modules top section to round off the top. Then added my preference modules of engineering, science, workshop, all in one berth, computer core, ship stations. Rounded shielded cargo to the sides with gear for support. It’s not my favorite “looking” but for ease of access it beats out my favorite Kepler R hands down.
For anyone wondering, there are numerous engines and starship items that are hidden until you hit a certain character level, I have max piloting and max starship design, but was missing a lot of these items, I farmed to level 40 and some of them are showing up now, so just bear that in mind when you're going after some of these high level gravs and reactors etc.
@@jabbypants788I'm level 58 by chance and attempting to build this ship. The guy above you said level 57 is all you need and he is clearly wrong as I don't have over half the parts available at my outpost ship builder, there's something somewhere hindering the progress. My ship design etc is all maxed too, as are experimental designs and parts so it's not that either. The game doesn't give clear instructions on what you need to do or where you need to go to unlock all upgrade availability at your outpost and it's shit.
Thanks, this kind of design is what I've been working towards. Mostly single level without ladders and all the necessary components for a big crew....and it looks slick....Perfect!
Just a heads up to anyone like this that will spend hours carefully moving part after part to find the perfect layout- Don't waste your time trying to hide your essential systems in the center of the ship. I know it makes sense logically to put the nonessential systems on the outside and insulate things like the reactor or grav drive, but unfortunately you're thinking harder about ship design than Bethesda ever did. Regardless of how you position your systems the enemy can always target whatever they want from every angle. For example, I have a ship with the grav drive near the nose of the ship but an enemy ship directly behind me was able to knock it out. I'm 100% there was was no conceivable angle they could have seen my grav drive from behind me, they would have either had to shoot through multiple habs or the landing gear. Unperturbed by that basic reality, they just teleported their lasers directly to my grav drive anyways. So just stick them wherever they fit easily or look good to you, mechanically there's no difference between having 30' worth of armor around your grav drive and having it completely exposed from all sides.
The same for us when I shoot enemy ship. What's being targeted that's what get destroyed or temporarily disabled, unless they use ship parts. Yes, enemy can use ship parts. I mean ship repair kit*.
Or you could be like the guy who built a cubic frame ship. The game mechanics make enemies shoot the centre of your ship, hence making enemies miss 100% of the time because it passes straight through lol
I built roughly this ship from a donor class C I captured from some spacers. I found that getting the exact same engines is both critical for the high mobility as well as the looks. The donor engines only got me mid-50's mobility. Also make sure those auto turrets are all facing forward when you snap them in position, if not they don't fire. I also fitted some manual laser weapons. In the final battle to finish off the Crimson Fleet, there are some defensive turrets at the Key that the auto turrets do not fire at, so you need something manually operated. But this build absolutely shreds spacers, ecliptic and fleet enemies, and holds a reasonable amount of cargo for something targeting battle. It also looks very nice.
This is a really nice design, just made a couple small changes (hate running around the ship to back landing bay). I swapped the shielded cargo with the landing bay and changed the slim docker for the 110DP Deimos top docker, it creates big door in the control station (changed it to Stroud one) to cockpit, has ladder to exit and 2 small doors to workshop and all-in-one berth. The big top docker (not just the attachment to companionway) removes one ladder for boarding.
As a former EVE online player.. im rebuilding the glorious Minmatar Rifter .. hehe. You did an awesome job on the build of your ship man.. i am inspired!!! 07
@@jarriddavis875 curious where you posted it, I would really like to have it :) does it by any chance also include all the levels & skills needed to follow the build? :) Thank you very much in advance!
This ship is bad ass! I had to run around and find some engines and weapons but once it came together this thing is a beast. I put two lasers and ballistics on it instead of one of each. And this thing just shreds through anything.
One thing you can do to get rid of one of the unsightly ladders, is use one of the dockers that takes up the space of a 1x1, to my knowledge those are just extra thicc and the ladder should at least be in line with the landing bay ladder, and you won’t have to deal with the extra companionway. I hope someone eventually makes a mod so that the docker and bay ladders face the same direction as the other ladders (or better yet add stairs/navy ship style ladders
Yeah but then it has to be on the outer edge of your ship, so say goodbye to any structure models you want to flank your ship, like the wings on this one.
At first I thought this was clickbait... prefect ship ... yeah right. But you started explaining the build and how it all fit together and you cracked it ... this ship looks really awesome ... I'm looking forward to building and playing around with different things with it. Well-done ✔️
Really nice vid on ship building. I love the no ladder approach and got a lot a great ideas from your design. I'm looking forward to leveling up Piloting and getting more into ship building as I progress in the game. Ship building seems almost like a game within a game and the more I tinker with it the more I like it :)
I used this guide to rebuild the Kepler-R. I picked up the Cabot cockpit and then reused the weapons, engines, 3 of the fuel tanks, the shield, grav drive, some of the habs, and stuck the storage on either side of the upper middle habs. The only thing I bought was a better reactor. I'll upgrade the rest as I go but it makes a very capable ship out of the maze that is the stock Kepler-R!
Nice design. Lots of parts. I was able to do it by travelling around and picking some things here and there. I started with a Narwhal as a base and modified it. Comes with a solid reactor.
I watched this before playing. Weeks ago. Now I have 2 class C ships and wanted to properly. And I've been searching for this video again because every setup I look at makes me really want to find this again. Truly amazing now that I've stolen/owned many ships and understand the frustrations involved with most ships.
I've built a slightly similar ship using the "no stairs" method and that cockpit - definitely loving it. I previously was using the monster Diemos cockpit, which I prefer the interior of, but don't like the chair animation. I have way more unnecessary stuff on my ship but I'm happy to have like 2 massive mess halls just for kicks and fly like a boat if it means my crew can be a little extra rambunctious during off hours. Loving your videos, cheers!
Great ship design! I love that you have areas that can kinda be made into anything. I definitely like having living quarters, and having living quarters on the wing sounds cool. I might steal this and tweak it some for my own liking. Really cool idea.
A little late to the party, but i found out the same thing at 6:47 works for making the doors line up with a nova galactic 2x1 All-in-one-berthB, so the second variation. I stumbled on your build and was glad to see someone else found this out with another hab :), nice build btw!
It's a great build. I wasn't aware of that cockpit and am definitely redoing my ship with it as the foundation. The one big drawback with this design (well, in my book) is the rear-facing boarding module. I did that at first because it makes a ton of sense, but that means you always have to run around the ship to enter it in spaceports. The ship always lands front-forward. I just wanted that part more streamlined so have to put it in the front. I know, also, there's at least one such module that loads straight into the ship with a door which can be nice. I currently use this exact landing module as used in the video though, just mounted forward with a different cockpit.
Totally agree with your point about rear facing boarding modules. Beth needs to make landing position based on the boarding module and not the cockpit (or at least give you the choice through a settings toggle). I haven't yet attempted this build, but I am thinking of trying a side entry boarding once my design is rank 4.
Started with just a little over 300k credits, could barely afford to create the whole thing from scratch....even had to stop to get more.... beautiful masterpiece
Love this template, I modified it a good bit between hab choices, with the exception of the captains quarters, I took out the mainly cosmetic habs for functionality crew slots & passenger capacity. Switched out the engines for 5 SAL's heavy yes, but fantastic maneuver thrusting, added more stroud cowlings to round out up top to cover cargo, and cracks in middle where I could see the grav & reactor. Added a forward sendor in the middle top for asthetic with a taiyo break behind it, shield & docking are unaffected. Got rid of the pipes & added another couple control and living quarters which increased the wingspan adding more equipment slots to cheese more crew slots with com spikes & conductor grids, for every two I got an ectra crew slot. Added extra deimos wing blades inverted on the inside for giggles until I realized I actually liked the look, also again more slots with less modules. I opted for the obliterator weaponry, with the Aneutronic fusion perk you can squeeze an extra 5 power out of that 40 reactor. 3 oblit alphas, 2 oblit turrets, and 2 helion alphas. I just cut off the turrets when I'm trying to board varun ships to sell. Also swapped out the fuel tanks for the larger 250 ones to put on each side of the ship inside the wingspan. Mass is at 4k but the maneuvering at 69 isn't bad, could get back to 81 with a 6th engine, but I'd have to remove the back wing spikes, and build breaks or caps to fill the middle gap for symmetry.
So glad I started following you. You provided tremendous Starfield insight. This ship is sweet. I love that bridge. Two things that I never can seem to find it and build videos. Number one is how much does it cost. It would be a bummer to start a project and then not have enough money. And number two how do you build from a blank slate or do you need to start with the cheapest ship just to get into the ship builder?
switch the bay (flip it so it faces the front of the ship) and that front cargo container; you get an extra 1x1 of space on the bottom where you can put a docker (because the front of the bay is 1 unit offset forwards), now there are ACTUALLY no ladders - the bay door (to outside) and the docking door (to other ships) are both on the floor of that first hopetech control station. You also don't' need all those 1x1s in the back and can shorten the ship by a section.
Bethesda should make a separate minigame "starfield shibuilder" where you have access to all parts and can customize the ships as you want, and easily see a list of parts used and requirements for each of them
Awesome build its sleek, deadly and has more room than anything I’ve seen that size. I’d love to see a couple more build ideas for maybe a cargo freighter or a compact fighter
This is an excellent video, and I used it to make my own version. There are a couple of good items that I have that are missing from this video build. They are the ComSpike and Conduction Grid. [spoiler alert]. These very useful items can only be found at the Key at a certain point in the Crimson Fleet missions. You will add them to a ship for a specific mission. However, once you do that, you can add them to any ship. I recommend you do that for as many ships in your inventory as possible, then you can use them for the basis of building a new ship, thus preserving both items. But be warned, if the Key is taken over by the UC, you cannot ever access these parts again from any dealer, even shady ones like the Red Mile.
I freaking LOVE this ship design!! I only wish it had 100 mobility and 150 speed... but I guess it is close enough. I may play around with things when I go to re-create this. Thanks for sharing this detailed tutorial!!
14:30 The center engine you're going with has the best power to thrust ratio in the game, so on a ship with as many of each of those engines, the engines you're using has more thrust. Be careful when building with the Slayton Aerospace ones though, cause max thrust costs you 390000 credits
Where do you get the Slayton Aerospace engines? I went and watched his "all ship parts video" and it wasn't mentioned. I'm building at my outpost and have all other parts, so I'm not sure what I missed along the way.
I've kinda just started playing, I'm at Constellation HQ now, but I can't wait to make my own ship. Yours is so incredible, I think I'm definitely gonna have to try to make one just like it as soon as I can afford to. Also, I LOLed when I saw the ship is named PlanetEspresso instead of Planet Express.
Go to a planet such as kurtz (jemison moon) and there u can find a parked ship you can just steal or u can also go to bandit outposts and there u might find parked ships
Took like 6 rebuild and hoping around A LOT to the specific shipyards but eventually I turned my Razor Leaf into something based on the core of your ship. I went way more into cargo but the base habs and cockpit were based on your design, so you earned a sub today! Now I get a killer cargo ship that handles oddly well and has the razor leaf bonus perk as well! Was worth the 2 hours or so it took jumping around and rebuilding it a bunch of times just slapping on parts until I had everything from each vendor, now I just need to level up more to get a better reactor but these auto turrets SHRED lol
@@SchwettyBawls spacers and crimson will recognize you in random encounters and either try to flee or give up the fight after a few of them die, and with auto turrets there's always one dead before I even get my manual weapon on them lol. You can then pick them off one by one if they don't jump away or whatever. When you go to the key they recognize you and swarm on you so that makes it fun too, no running away at the key I would suggest keeping one weapon for manual, you need something for disabling and boarding, and you gotta shutdown the turrets or you'll just kill everything lol
My particularly favourite ship setup is the stronghold. 2 extra engines to make it 4 in total. 2 atlatl 270C missile launchers, 2 PBO-300 auto alpha turrets, 2 disruptor 3340A auto alpha turrets, added cargo space to make it 4000 mass of cargo space and the most amount of points from a reactor (40 points plus an extra 5 from the skill in the science tree)
You seem to have overlooked that the grav drive has a STORY animation linked to it, so hiding it is like buying a cool pair of shoes and putting them inside bags, when you wear them. Cockpit - 1x1 room - entry/docking area and I don't do cool decoration rooms as the ship designer reset all items when changing a ship, so a cool armory get emptied every time you decide to change the colour of the ship, making it rather useless. Unless they change that somehow, houses is really the best place for armories. You will update your ship until you reach the "end" design and every time you do a universe reset (aka NG+). So first time players need to start in a A ship that slowly morbs over time into the "end" ship, but you also need to remake it after ever NG+ reset and while you make money the ship again "evolves" over time, so many annoying item resets. You really don't end up flying around in a "finished" ship much. Pro Tip, use the Mantis ship as the box you make the ship in, it get a cool buff, even if you erase the entire ship and build a new design, it's the "ID" that get the buff.
@@dark_praetor spacers will recognize that the ship belings to the mantis and run away. I don't think it works for eclectic, va'ruun, or crimson fleet tho. Could be wrong about that last part, I haven't tested it much.
Thanks man, I built this today. it worked perfect. I decided to take it a bit further and was just playing around with some different ideas and accidentally turned it into a frog. '
Looks more like a Minerva or Artemis class Battlestar than a bird of prey imo. Looks amazing and I love it! I will probably make the pods more round and put a second connection point to the main hull and call it the Minerva.
@@VielofDarkness Well I did it, and it is GLORIOUS. HIGHTLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend purchasing the ShieldBreaker and converting that because of the super super powerful Class B reactor and turrets. Makes for a super efficient start.
Thanks a lot for the build mate. Took be some time to build it but finally made it. Ive been driving 2 C class ships so far and they're absolute crap compared to this one. Its an absolute monster with auto lasers/turrets and face tanked all the pirates in the crimson systems that would've usually obliterate me in 10 seconds. Just one thing to add up for clarity as Ive struggled with this part as a non-experienced player and didn't knew how to actually buy the ship modules separately and take them with me. Done that bt modifying a cheap ship - buying and connecting the captain dock, 2 lower habs and the habs that connects the wings. The Cabbot C4 bridge, hope tech control station and the deimos hubs are bought from the hopetech vendor, the connecting hub structure that connects the wings, from a different vendor. Then you can go to your outpost where you can find the rest, except the engines that you can replace with others, based on your level. In the video he has access to better modules/engines because he has a higher level and not showing for lower levels. Hope that helps some new players like me. Also, anyone has any idea how to take some worthy pirate ships bounty missions or where I can find stronger ships foe better credits earning? Haven't found any solid info on this Appreciate it in advance
I'm pretty sure you can just use any low-level ship to access the editor and erase all the parts. Or even better capture a large ship that shares a lot of these components to keep final costs down.
The key is, you need to know who the main seller, buy from there for the parts, yes you can start with similar starter ship or buy cheap available to a bare minimum, the upgrade or replace the parts, then go back and forth to the main seller to get the unique parts. You can spend hours to get those, including finding where your preferred stairs connection, if needed. Google is your best search to find those seller if you new or have not find them all.
I wish we could have all parts available at any shipyard . Going to one specific vendor for 1 part is annoying. Hopefully in the future DLC we can get a HAB that has built in ramps / stairs Think Pillar Of Autumn level from Halo 1.
if you build a hanger on your outpost it gives you access to every ship part in the game (except for some of the unique parts like the cockpit in the video)
@@deimmortales No it doesn. I have 4 ranks in flying and design and i still only see two types of landing gear i can put on my ships i build there. Not all cargo space are there. the big 2x2x2 reactor with 29 power aint there either. and many other parts i normally can see at any other vendor. But it does have a big selection of other parts. I been to all locations selling shipparts , since i was told it would update my hanger shop in outpost. It does not ! :(
@@brianburns1420 Not exactly. I think I started with a class C ship from Tayo that had the cockpit, then bought the shady stuff from Red Mile, then I went to my outpost and stripped everything but the cockpit, grav and reactor, and built this ship. That initial cost at the outpost was ca. 250k. with some good temporary engines. Later I flew to Hopetech to get the proper connection with the wings so they are connected with walkways, and lastly I got the correct engines on Neon after I had completed the side quest from Walter without killing the other CEO.
I am a big fan of the ecliptic rapier layout, just changed the habs to more useful things. So jumped on the chance to commandeer an ecliptic claymore when I saw one, especially because it has this cockpit…but the layout was horrid. Ladders everywhere when a door would work. Found this video looking for ways to fix it. I made a very similar version to your ship from my claymore with zero ladders but it took a lot of placing one hab at a time. Let me know if you want more details. Love your idea. Mine looks more scorpion like because the body is shorter and my wings are forward. When I put them mid, it messed up the pathing and made it more Batman than I wanted. Once again, great video, took lots of inspiration for my build from this and it’s my favorite, practical ship build.
Forgot to add, one of my main improvements from your ship is that I moved the reactor and grave drive up one level, covered the bottom with cargo storage boxes that looked good, and the top with stroud fairings. No visible way to see/hit the reactor or grav drive.
I would love to figure out the rhyme or reasoning behind what connection point turns into a door and what one doesn't so I can actually plan a route through my ship. The complete maze like randomness is mind boggling at times.
I stole an Ecliptic Claymore and then used your video to get it very close to yours. I was too cheap to toss the engines so I had to mod it a bit differently. In addition, I didn't have access to some of the 2x1 modules you used but it turned out great. Oh yeah, I didn't add the wings so it looks live a wedge but no crazy ladders so yeah I really like it. Thumb up from me.
Hey man, i built the ship with just a couple changes. If you do away with the slim docker and the companionway it's connected to, and swap it for a 1x1 docking module, it makes it look seamless. Just a exit in the floor, a docking hatch in the ceiling, and la ladder connecting the two. No mishmash of 2 different ladders. Check it out man.
Ok so I have built this as a core of my design and I have used my magical reverse engineering powers to divine, based on YOUR blood sweat, tears and efforts. Thank you for this minimalist, efficient design for me to build on. I’ll post a video when I’m done. So far zero ladders minus the docker which is at the back of the control center where the area is basically blank walls anyways.
I just watched this for hours and made the best version i can at level 47. I have made similar wings using the freeranger turkey hawk ship (which is really good too i must say. Now I am going to make this my own. Thanks for the video!
I basically followed this build exactly and really liked it. I did make some changes over time to the weapons and made all the engines the Slayton Aerospace SAL-6830 Engines.
I used your basic wing design to modify the Razorleaf into a dogfighter. I’m still pretty early in my first play though- but I was able to adapt the basic design to Class C pretty easily. The wings give you a ton of weapon mounts but keep a very sleek profile. The T/Y Wing style can really be adapted to most of the cockpits/bridges with nice results. Key parts are the cross passageways from Nova (Titan) and HopeTech (Polvo) The HopeTech has extra top/bottom mount points the Nova doesn’t. I don’t have any ladders except for the docking hatch. Trimmed it down to three functional habs and still have most of the modules tucked safely away. Easily hit max speed/maneuverability without needing to level up Starship Building. The passageways are better than doors/adjacent modules imo because it’s less cramped.
finally someone made it. I saw that cockpit in one of the videos. I still can not fly C Class. I do something similar. all the functional blocks are right after the cockpit. other stuff that you do not use are below behind the landing bay. Excellent...

@@jarriddavis875 You did a great job listing all of those parts. Appreciate all the hard work you put into it for us!
I love that cockpit, even though it makes my ship feel wider than I typically like. It's hilarious to me that the first thing we want to do in a game where BGS finally has working ladders is to get rid of all the ladders.
In our defense, they aren't very good ladders.
@@wyattthealchemistIf you could sprint up the ladder, or slide down the ladder it'd be a lot better.
@@juuljitsuI do that mostly or just hit R to go straight to the cockpit.

Is the ship named "Chocolate Rain"?
Been looking at a lot of ship builds, this one is hands down the cleanest and best looking. The flow of the interior is what I wanted the most, and you nailed it.
It reminds me a lot of Banjo Kazooie on the 360 with the way it builds for some reason
The Batman ship is pretty slick
This game makes it's so difficult to build a coherent interior. I wish they at least showed where Habs are capable of connecting via doors.
@@SimplestUsername There's a little arrow on attachment points which indicate possible ladder/doorways. The bigger issue is that we have no way to set a priority on which path is used without building in a particular order.

Think it's crazy that we can't tour the inside of our ships before confirming the build
On god
Or just being able to set connection points, like in the same way we can place view ports.
They should add an interior view, with the ability to edit these connections and ladders.
Obviously if there's only one connection point, then it can't change. But when you have two habs side-by-side or on top of each other, then you should be able to modify or have multiple.
At least you aren't penalized for buying and selling ship parts so you can build it and change stuff after you walk through it.
If you zoom in into the modules you can clip and see the insides.
I like this idea, what do you mean by whole loft aft one frame?
The whole lot, not loft. As in move the hatch towards the aft, and everything else shuffles back once.
Just because it's been requested a few times,
Parts: you can get all parts from Titan in the Sol System, hopetown, and your outpost shipbuilder. Locations here ua-cam.com/video/lLoKs-wNuOI/v-deo.html
Cost: ~250,000 though significantly less if you use a cheaper parts.

I did a parts list below if you wanna pin that or copy/paste it here as well. It's below
Perfect addition, I love it, thank you!
Nova Bridge? thought I had found all the different bridges not seen that one I don't think

It would be so much better if we could choose the ladder and door locations.
@@nextgen3ric the shipbuilder mods will truly be glorious. I'm hoping I can incorporate those huge roof windows from the Den into my mess halls.

I think that's the point of NASA punk
I agree. I don't mind that there are blocky ships, and they fit well with many models of ships... but it would be nice to have sleeker options, like more trim that makes things look less modular.
@@coolhandpaulnewmani think that kind of defeats the design asthetic they were going for.
Thanks for the info on the ship. Just switched up a few Bays and had the ramp at the front of the ship. Appreciate the layout.
Reminisce from a week ago LOL
@@PeteNice29 Of course it sounds ridiculous now, but you're not seeing the forest through the trees. 2 or 3 years down the road when I'm max lvl or even 10 years from now when I'm taking a stroll down memory lane I'll be thanking my past self for this. Its worth it to me, thats reason enough.
I dig it. For mine I'm adding things so it looks like it's been duct taped together. Structural braces and mismatching parts and it's a bit asymmetrical. I'm not saving iterations but its evolution is visible. A Railstar that's become rather chimeric.

Subscribed. I followed this build, added a few tweaks and now have my favorite ship yet. I really like this layout. Made my day.
I did this too and it looks like a snake mouth

I was not always creative for building. its good people like you exist for us average consumer. Your doing Sactum Universums work!
Now that I have access to that bridge I love it. Way better than the other cockpits and easier to get around the ship.
I can't find this bridge, can you tell me how to get it?
@Shallenberger go to Sol, Ship Services Technician (New Homestead). New Homestead is on Tiatan around Saturn.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot Brian for the tip! You really didn't have to. I make these for fun. Hope it helped 🙏
Thanks I was wondering if I needed to be higher level for this or if this was something I can make early on. This comment by you needs to be pinned.
I believe the max level is 60, from what I could tell online from people who have hit the level@@aykazielenokk4022
I was looking, and it looks like to get all the parts you have to be level 57.
Am level 140 and all parts not available to me.
Before putting the wings on, it kinda reminds me of the Thunderbird 2 from the old show. Nice build!
@@-Yogo I am totally planning a borg cube design, when I get brave enough to start building one =)
Awesome build! It'd be _really_ nice if you had a complete parts list link or posted it in the summary ;)
This please
And total cost.
I did go through and make a list and posted it for ya!
@@jarriddavis875 curious where you posted it, I would really like to have it :) does it by any chance also include all the levels & skills needed to follow the build? :) Thank you very much in advance!
@@EzioSebilet me know if you got this?!?
@@kraven2144 ah yeah true the dockers are definitely finicky to work with, but I’m excited to see what mods and new dlc can add
some of the dockers can be flipped upside down too. those ones dont have ladders on them! so yay! :D
Or ladders on the side of the wall instead of the middle of the room.
The whole point of the ladders being in different directions is that one goes up and the other goes down.
Im hoping they either add staircase modules or someone makes a mod for it, ladders just get on my nerves
Loving your videos, cheers!
is the chair animation longer on the Deimos cockpit?
Ok, I LOVE this. I get lost un the bigger ships, the simplicity speaks to me and makes things SO much easier
It's a solid build! Though I prefer my own ship with gigantic cargo space and no mobility at all xD
I built one of those. Named it the Haulin Hog.
Only way to truly start from scratch is to buy or own a ship and just delete everything manually, but you can do it
switch the bay (flip it so it faces the front of the ship) and that front cargo container; you get an extra 1x1 of space on the bottom where you can put a docker (because the front of the bay is 1 unit offset forwards), now there are ACTUALLY no ladders - the bay door (to outside) and the docking door (to other ships) are both on the floor of that first hopetech control station. You also don't' need all those 1x1s in the back and can shorten the ship by a section.
Killing it bro!!!! These guides will be so useful once I get the game
Really wish they'll add an option to share ships with the community. I'd love this badboy.
Give it time lol...they'll add something I bet
I freaking LOVE this ship design!! I only wish it had 100 mobility and 150 speed... but I guess it is close enough. I may play around with things when I go to re-create this. Thanks for sharing this detailed tutorial!!
That's the thing, just put on better engines and bam, 100 mob and 150 speed.
Yeah, but looks matter too! 😂

What is the Razor Leaf bonus?
@@SchwettyBawls spacers and crimson will recognize you in random encounters and either try to flee or give up the fight after a few of them die, and with auto turrets there's always one dead before I even get my manual weapon on them lol. You can then pick them off one by one if they don't jump away or whatever. When you go to the key they recognize you and swarm on you so that makes it fun too, no running away at the key
I would suggest keeping one weapon for manual, you need something for disabling and boarding, and you gotta shutdown the turrets or you'll just kill everything lol
Pro Tip, use the Mantis ship as the box you make the ship in, it get a cool buff, even if you erase the entire ship and build a new design, it's the "ID" that get the buff.
what unique buff does the Mantis' Razorleaf ship get?
This was my thought too... Looks way more like a Battlestar.
Haven't found any solid info on this
Appreciate it in advance
Do you remember what starter ship you used for this? Is there a way to just build a new ship from scratch?
exactly... this guy shows us the ship AFTER ITS BEEN BUILT!!! BRO YOU GOTTA SHOW US HOW TO MAKE IT....DUHHHHHH
EM a pirate ship, dock, steal, register, retrofit.
You can use any starter ship, when you buy a class c reactor it becomes a class c ship.
1:08 You had me at Klingon Bird of Prey ❤
I wish we could have all parts available at any shipyard . Going to one specific vendor for 1 part is annoying.
Hopefully in the future DLC we can get a HAB that has built in ramps / stairs

Do you have an idea of what the approximate cost was?
I build it without the wings r a 420k idk how much the vendor has at the start
@@brianburns1420 Not exactly. I think I started with a class C ship from Tayo that had the cockpit, then bought the shady stuff from Red Mile, then I went to my outpost and stripped everything but the cockpit, grav and reactor, and built this ship. That initial cost at the outpost was ca. 250k. with some good temporary engines.
Later I flew to Hopetech to get the proper connection with the wings so they are connected with walkways, and lastly I got the correct engines on Neon after I had completed the side quest from Walter without killing the other CEO.
I hate building videos that does even tour the inside but this guy actually give us a tour congrats
That is the best-looking ship I've seen so far excellent work🤩
I am a big fan of the ecliptic rapier layout, just changed the habs to more useful things.
What’s the build cost?
Thanks so much for no spoilers on where to acquire some of the parts. I like figuring it out myself best.
I don't wanna build the perfect ship. I wanna build the deathstar 😅
This is the coolest ship I’ve ever seen somebody build!
A UA-camr named pixels byte ripped off your design for her how to video
Giving off thunderbird 2 vibes...
I've used this as a good inspiration. Awesome ship... Great job
You got infirmary perfectly fine. But I'm gonna need to hear you say aluminum a couple more times. Loved it lol. Solid ship bro.
Key parts are the cross passageways from Nova (Titan) and HopeTech (Polvo)
The HopeTech has extra top/bottom mount points the Nova doesn’t.
