Hey fellow space explorers, just fyi there’s a Hope Tech piece I don’t see a lot of people using that can connect two parallel habitat modules in place of a companion way. It’s only sold at the hope town landing platform as far as I can tell, it’s under habitat modules it’s called a cross brace I think and without testing it you might not realize it has an interior space. It’s a nice plain tunnel going from port to starboard with no ladder in the middle. I use it for my main battleship where I have to have a gap in the middle to fit the giant class C reactors and grav drives - I like to conceal them inside and in between habs but I still like being able to go from port side or starboard side without having to go to a bow or stern companion way.
@@nerdoutreachprogram5358 yes, the Hopetech spine I believe also has a tunnel in it, it is the same shape as their cockpit and so I think it is meant to be used as an access tunnel
I’m obsessed with building the ultimate battle ship and this was super helpful. It’s gonna be massive, with a full crew, giant bridge, and just loads of missiles (unfortunately at the expense of ballistic weapons but whatever missiles are more powerful)
Three critical areas I wish to see included as an update or as a mod 1. Being able to purchase licenses from the manufacturers to increase the amount of parts, maybe varying levels of licenses so you can see the unique parts in your settlement/outposts. 2. Being able to salvage/transfer parts from your own or captured/damaged ships, possibly requiring repair before being able to use. 3. Custom connections for ship building, it shouldn't be hard to implement a sort of ghost/xray view as a step to drag/toggle nodes as connections in the ship builder.
It's rather unfortunate that we can't transfer parts from one ship to another or even a chance to collect parts from destroyed ships. A rather missed opportunity to allow players to hunt down specific factions and farm or capture their ships for weapons or systems unique to their faction, like in Microsofts Freelancer in which there were several unique weapons you could farm ships for in the starting system.
Really wish you had a "garage" or something you could send old parts to instead of selling them or crudely attaching them to your ship while you fly from staryard to staryard to collect all the parts you want lol

My favorites are Deimos and Stroud ship components. I have a large storage chest in almost all compartments using a combination of those two. Came out happy with a black Star Destroyer instead of buying a ship.
I think my biggest issue with the ship building so far has been the waste of time and money required to get ship modules setup the way you want. It's always build the ship, pay and leave, back out of the menus, go to the ship, load in it, run around in it. Realize that you have to go through the armory an the infirmary to get to the living area, leave the ship, load in, go back to the ship builder, rearrange the habs, repeat. Then, if you have the setup you like, but find a different manufacturer that makes ones that look better on your ship(some have top/middle/bottom options), their habs may totally change the doors used.... Meaning, you do it alllllll over. An option to tell it which area gets the door would remedy this entirely.
@@Varloth it is helpful for seeing how the habs have to be oriented to have them attach to the doorway I want, But it doesn't let me make a hab use a specific point with the orientation I want, Thanks for this either way. Great video! You did a fantastic job of explaining the pros and cons of each ship part vendor and dealer. I’m looking forward to building my own ship with your guidance.
A tip for anyone that’s not using it - the Navigation console that comes in some hab modules and in the XL Deimos bridge can be used to fast travel even faster if you’re in a rush. You can be sitting on the New Atlantis landing pad, use the navigation console and choose to go to Cydonia or anywhere you like and fast travel there after a single load screen. Don’t have to go to space and spool up your grav drive if you don’t have time. Although I don’t use it all the time because I like the immersion of takeoff and grav drive spooling, the Nav console is handy when you need it.
As someone already said it, you can just do that from the Star Map lol You don't even have to be near your ship if you're on foot, just don't be encumbered.

Where the hell you can get the crimson ship equopment when u chooses the UC side ? i reworked a ship and lost thos parts. i never got them back only when i use another savegame. any chance to get them per ID code or something ?
Thank you, this is really useful. Can you make a guide on how to find space battles? (not for leveling up piloting, but for fun and loot) I jump around a lot between the Space pirate and Varuun systems, but this method feels awkward, surely there are better ways.
@@kidgyro Thank you, but i know about those, but that method is even more awkward. I mean currently at least i jump in between a few systems without landing. But the bounty boards would require me to land and walk to reach them, then launch into space again.
@@nbandit2k9So to realistically do this, you need to fly all over and buy a part here and there, add it to the ship, save ship, go to the next vendor? What was waste of time. that is terrible game design.
Keep in mind, building more then one signal jammer doesn’t work. It’s 50% with the top end jammer plus shielded cargo hold. Your skill will make up the rest. You can have a lot of shielded cargo holds for storage, but it’s effect doesn’t stack.
Larger is supposed to be better though for your shielded cargo hold. Something about the extra space offsetting the value of contraband in the internal formula used by the game to calculate detection rates.
So if I want to build a ship at Deimos but want a HopeTech captains quarters do I have to build it then take it to HopeTech and swap out the parts I want?
so do I just need to build a ship with the parts I want and thats it? do I just need to but the parts once, becuase ive found that some habs or landing gears can only be used so many times.
It would also be nice if when you changed your home ship, it didn't dump all of the captain's safe into the main cargo hold. So much time spent restocking that safe.
Great vid, not sure why everyone adds an extra letter to Deimos tho, (people always say Deimios or Demios and now that I have noticed I can't un-hear it)
Do you have to go to each of these locations first for the ship parts to show up at your outpost shipyard? Or do they all automatically show up when you build the shipyard at the outpost?
They have ive seen it on UA-cam but due to the lack of similar shape parts its not great looking. I've also seen the Millennium Falcon and the razor crest
Among MANY Failures and Shortcomings in Starfield, one HUGE let-down is the inability to see what the interior of any ship part or ship itself looks like BEFORE you buy it. There really needs to be a way to explore the interior details in some visual way otherwise, it's a shot in the dark and a waste of a ton of credits, especially when so many modules look exactly the same from the outside.

good stuff mate
@6:43 this guy is listing lazily to the right, he knows some moves!
Thanks Peter.. I mean Han!
Where the hell you can get the crimson ship equopment when u chooses the UC side ? i reworked a ship and lost thos parts. i never got them back only when i use another savegame. any chance to get them per ID code or something ?
They should just have it so you can buy any part from any vendor you've visted in your outpost shipyard.
Stroud is the only one I’ve seen sell elbow pieces to make sure certain doors don’t spawn
What level do you have to be to unlock the aes bridge with the 6 conect points and stairs?
Thank you, this is really useful. Can you make a guide on how to find space battles? (not for leveling up piloting, but for fun and loot) I jump around a lot between the Space pirate and Varuun systems, but this method feels awkward, surely there are better ways.
Pick up bounty missions from the mission terminals. Easy one to find are Cydonia on Mars and New Atlantis on Jemison. Usually at a bar.
@@kidgyro Thank you, but i know about those, but that method is even more awkward. I mean currently at least i jump in between a few systems without landing. But the bounty boards would require me to land and walk to reach them, then launch into space again.
You neglected to mention some unique parts, I noticed the hopetech landing gear but I wonder what else you left out.
How do I actually buy the pieces I want? So that I can use them later at my outpost shipbuilder.
How do I add these to my list of ship parts to use on the builder??
Whats the level my character has to have to get all parts available for purchase?
i'm 51 and i can't get all the parts.
so once you visit you have acces to all their things at the outpost ship builder?
nope i ahve gone to them multiple times and some paryts i still dont have back at my outpost ship builder so i dunno ig u have to be level 100 or what
@@nbandit2k9So to realistically do this, you need to fly all over and buy a part here and there, add it to the ship, save ship, go to the next vendor? What was waste of time. that is terrible game design.
Keep in mind, building more then one signal jammer doesn’t work. It’s 50% with the top end jammer plus shielded cargo hold. Your skill will make up the rest. You can have a lot of shielded cargo holds for storage, but it’s effect doesn’t stack.
Larger is supposed to be better though for your shielded cargo hold. Something about the extra space offsetting the value of contraband in the internal formula used by the game to calculate detection rates.
Do I need to add it to my ship for it to be bought and unlocked, so I can create a ship using the item at my outpost ship build?
So if I want to build a ship at Deimos but want a HopeTech captains quarters do I have to build it then take it to HopeTech and swap out the parts I want?
so do I just need to build a ship with the parts I want and thats it? do I just need to but the parts once, becuase ive found that some habs or landing gears can only be used so many times.
I like.
Your video, but would you please just have a picture? That points a.to the Galaxy where they are at.
Do you have to buy the parts or do they unlock for you and your base by just going to each location?
It would also be nice if when you changed your home ship, it didn't dump all of the captain's safe into the main cargo hold. So much time spent restocking that safe.
So what level do you need to be to buy all the parts? Wondering for those needed for Dantics' ultimate ship build.
Great vid, not sure why everyone adds an extra letter to Deimos tho, (people always say Deimios or Demios and now that I have noticed I can't un-hear it)
Wish we could buy to unlock parts at all dealers it’s annoying trying to use multiple company parts but them being place specific
Do you have to go to each of these locations first for the ship parts to show up at your outpost shipyard? Or do they all automatically show up when you build the shipyard at the outpost?
The unique parts only show up in these locations and not in your outposts.
I wonder if someone has made the Normandy yet.
This is my favourite comment on the Citadel.
They have ive seen it on UA-cam but due to the lack of similar shape parts its not great looking. I've also seen the Millennium Falcon and the razor crest
How do you buy the individual pieces? I can’t seem to figure it out
I have seen videos of a walk through connector parrallel to the ship. Anyone know where to find them. (Not the same as the ones in the video)
