    Piece of added advice-The shop that did mine replaced the valley plate with a new one as they can warp. They also used a RTV sealant used on UPS trucks that is good for a million miles (so they say). I wouldn't want to use the same sealant that went bad unless Toyota has an improved version. I still can't figure out why they just didn't use a gasket. This was on a 2011 IS-F as well. And all the injector clips will need to be replaced. Great Video-thank You.

    Thank so much for this video I bought my ISF last year and I notice my heater would get cold when it’s at idle during the winter. I work at a Lexus dealership and my technician said it’s your valley plate and i saw forms saying $1000 to $2000 for just replacing the seal but I haven’t seen any major coolant leaks but I do check on it but again Thank You because you’re literally the only person that has made a video for this.

    Probably the first and only complete video covering one of the two most common problems on the ISF (the other issue being a cracked manifold).
    Thank you so much for posting this!

    Just a piece of advice, the fuel injectors will and can crack upon removal and installation. More on the driver side
    each injector is around 350 at the dealer (US) a rebuilt injector is a waste of time they will crack just plugging them in or trying to
    remove the pigtail. BE extremely careful, I have done a few the last one I did takes the cake. Under that intake is a motherload of heat that fries everything. The other part of this video I did not have to pull the starter wire I hung the harness over to the driver side with a tie.

    You are the first tech I've seen to actually spread the silicon (FIPG) around on both sides, using your finger, which I absolutely love. Do you follow spreading it on both sides with a single bead all the way around the top or was that thick looking FIPG just the large amount you spread with your finger? Note, this is for the 3UR-FE in my LX570. I only want to have to do this repair one time. Thanks in advance! Awesome video.😎.

      @@alltsab Lucky for you the 1UR-FSE has the same problem! I put mine back together today only to realize that the valley plate did not seal, coolant all over the ground. Not sure where I went wrong, I'm wondering if I accidentally over-torqued the bolts causing the FIPG to squish out too far..?
      I should have tested it prior... but It did only happen after the coolant system was under pressure.

    • @alltsab
      @alltsab  3 роки тому +1

      @@1OMEGA111 I gave everyone warning about leak test before closing everything in my video. Check the 2 o-ring you may accidentally twist it while you install.

      @1OMEGA111 3 роки тому

      @@alltsab Ah no, I found this video today while trying to find why it leaked. I should have tested it, but was under the impression that It would need to be leak tested while the engine was running. Though it did only seem to start leaking after it was under pressure... I Did not realize it was possible to test while the intake was off.
      I was thinking that as well, though I dipped the o-rings in coolant to act as something of a lubricant during install. So I dont think they'd be twisted, but maybe pushed out of the groove? Though the orings are my guess for the leak as the only issue I can think of with the plate would be that it was over-torqued, I set my torque wrench to 15ftlbs but could have tightened a few bolts a few ftlbs over, though I cant imagine the difference of a few ftlbs would have caused that much of a leak.

    • @1OMEGA111
      @1OMEGA111 3 роки тому

      @@stevekalesia3922 I pinched the oring on the large pipe that connects the plate to the pump. It got caught and rolled backwards when I put it in so it was just spewing coolant
      Replaced it and more carefully installed the plate, on a side-note, I just took it apart again for a different reason and the seal has held (I used permatex "the right stuff" rtv)

The reason I’m asking you as it’s very tight space at the fire wall. I removed the wire harness, and the fuel line hose and still had difficulty aligning the plate with out touching the sealant

    My recomendation for you is to post those part numbers in your video description as well
    My 2nd recomendation is to set up accounts with Amazon, Walmart etc to do "drop shipping" account and add the link into your descriptionfor these parts this way you get a small percentage and people can just click link to go straight to part.

    This leak is an issue on many is f's not just the odd one or two
    The gasket fails because it deteriorates with age. It is an inferior material not able to stand up to heat and pressure.
    This should be a warranty issue
