Thanks for the great information! One suggestion to other viewers. Remove newly purchased battery from rear hatch area before disconnecting old battery. Rear hatch won’t open without a battery…
Honestly this was so succinct and fantastically informative and exactly what to do without the nonsense of chitchat I don't know if it's going to help me but if anything can help me this would be it thank you wish me luck
Really helpful video. For some reason, my positive terminal cable is loose even though I have the nut as tight as it will go. I don’t like driving with it this way. In fact, it lost contact when my wife was parked and I had to go wiggle it to reengage contact with the terminal. Not great.
You will need “battery terminal caps” unscrew cable that’s you have loose put on battery terminal cap , put cable back on and tighten it up It looks like this : www.mechanicsurplus.com/products/640487284?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp4nk4rGFggMVgSitBh0hYAEKEAQYCiABEgL0f_D_BwE This is expensive… you can buy it on Amazon for cheape
@kpmac1 I had the same experience as you while tightening the nut…at first. The solution was simply to press down kinda hard on the terminal connector while tightening the nut; then it tightened up just fine. Happened with both terminals, lol.
You could but life of battery will be shorted and also if you have start/stop function it might throw it off … newer cars have agm batteries because of all tech features … so point yes you could but you will be replacing that battery very often and looking at long run and shit can cause wrong , just go with agm 😁
I'm so pissed my battery went at 42K and warranty goes to 36K, so typical! These batteries are so expensive, but thanks for showing me how to replace, good video
Is it typical for these batteries-rather than _gradually_ diminishing in cranking amps-to go from seemingly “just fine” one day to “not enough oomph to crank the engine” the next? I erroneously assumed that the starter had gone bad, but checked the voltage of the battery and found it somewhat low (~11.5 volts). Charged it, and it started-but left it off the charger for 30 mins, and it wouldn’t crank. Installed a new battery with the same specs as the original, and it started just like normal! I got 7 years use (almost to the day!) out of the original battery, so I guess I shouldn’t complain.
@35geordielad (for anyone wondering about this) I swapped out the battery on my 2017 Sorento today. I probably had the battery disconnected for 10 mins total. It didn’t “forget” my radio stations.
No information whatsoever what battery types can be used. Should it only be AGM calcium based or can a normal battery be used. Not even how many Ah. I think much more important than inscrewing a few bolts and lifting heavy batteries...
When you to auto part store to buy battery for you are vehicle they will ask you what year model make… and they will give you right battery … what type is least important lol

Great, well done video. Thanks!
Thanks for the video.
if we don't have the fancy socket wrenches can we use a regular adjustable wrench in a bind?
@@tkx7 you can try idk if it works .. use just regular socket wrenches and extensions I’m using power tools just because it’s quicker
Thank you for the straight and simple video! Do you know whether I will need to reset the computer after installing a new battery?
No just change the battery you will be good
This is perfect. We are off to buy a battery and the 12mm long tool.
Great Video . Just wondering can I put a regular battery instead of a AGM battery . The AGM are very expensive . Thanks

Que especificación de batería recomiendas para sorento 2017, 2,4 gasolina?
Sorry don’t understand Spanish
Thank you for the video! What is the battery spec for Sorento 2018, 2.4 GDI 4WD?
AGM80L-DIN
What if you don’t have the fancy tools? What alternatives are there?
you don't need to use power tools like mine just use regular wrenches and wrench ... it might take you little longer but that's all
Any socket wrench set that includes metric sockets…and an extender thingy.
Thanks
My anti lock theft won’t let me start my 2020 after replacement of battery. Won’t start or go into park or let me shift

Did you use a memory saver before removing the AGM battery?
No , the only reason you could use memory savor is for programmed radio stations…

I can’t get the dang + connection to release 😢
