Cool video. Would be nice to see some more prints or compare the print quality to other printers. This printer is a good 5,000+ more than the average 3D printer.

Thank you for an Informative video. One big difference is that, I don’t think S7 is metal printing compatible (yet)

You are correct! Thank you for pointing that out. As of now, the Metal Expansion Kit is not compatible with the S7. The reason actually has nothing to do with the material itself. The S7 is fully capable of printing the same materials as the S5. The difference is that, when printing with the metal material, the entire glass build plate is supposed to be submerged in water to safely remove the print from the build plate. The flexible PEI build plate on the S7 is not supposed to be submerged in water, so that's why it's not currently compatible. Ultimaker is doing ongoing testing, and we hope to hear about an S7-specific metal kit soon, but at the moment it has been deemed not compatible.

Will Ultimaker be offering any upgrades to the S5 to support the new build plate that is available on the S7

Unfortunately, there are no plans to make any changes to the S5 other than ongoing firmware updates. However, 3D Universe will soon be offering a 3rd party solution. We will have flexible magnetic PEI build sheets sized specifically for the Ultimaker S3 and S5 available soon! We've been testing these build plates for the past several months, and they definitely offer an improved user experience. Stay tuned to shop3duniverse.com/ and subscribe to our newsletter to get notified when they're available.

Not usefull no comparison to other 3D Printers. Let alone telling us a price of this absurdity.
