thanks for the great info. this helps allot that you gave the reasoning and basic strategies behind the roles. things like dropping squad leaders behind enemy lines etc are great tidbits of info for new player slike me playing during the free week

Yeah luckily i have a nearly full squad of regular players. Really enjoying the two different styles of squad leading depending what side your on. A little more careful as a US squad leader but you can be a lot more aggressive on the VC side.
Oh sweet a regular team is always better! yeah i think i enjoy the VC side more since when i die i don't feel bad for the rest of my squad especially since i like to play really aggressively being the first into a fight
Ive had to learn to be very passive for US. Im the same as yourself usually im an aggressive player and like to push the caps. Ive gotten used to hanging back and marking targets more so at least they have a spawn point
Yeah it feels so wrong hanging back trying to ping heads so i try and avoid being a US leader if i can by giving the role to my mate but he always gives it back again :( just happy that you get points for spawning your team mates and assists from artillery!

I hope someone sees and asnwer this: I am the commander and let's say I see 5 marks in total (one of them is mine, the rest are from the squad leaders) I want to use napalm on the location that squad leader 2 has marked. How do I choose that? shoud I click on his mark before hitting napalm button or what? This part is really confusing for me

I think its 5 or 6 key on keyboard? One of them. Otherwise just check the key bindings
Do you prefer Vietnamese or American Squad Leader when playing? and why?
I prefer playing the Vietnamese since you can respawn on your own tunnel so you can be a bit riskier with your play style and go for more kills. However with the US I feel I can make more of a difference, but the pressure of having to stay alive makes it a bit more stressful and having to not be aggressive goes against my instincts
I get what you mean, I prefer the Vietnamese on most maps. Especially on supremacy maps when the placement of your tunnel can benefit your team tremendously. The only map where I prefer playing a US SL is Hue City because of all the cover, making awesome flanks and pushes into points way easier. Also the Vietnamese are awesome because they're so hard to spot in the jungle, sneaking up on G.I.'s is a lot of fun and because of the squad tunnel you're able to do that without too much risk!
Yeah Hue City is a great map to play as the US, the close quarters urban fighting that goes through a lot of the map is really fun for an aggressive attacking player. Haha fun for everyone except the G.I.'s. But yeah that's exactly what I mean, playing as the Vietnamese gives you the opportunity to strike out and risk your neck on fun little skirmishes
Letting your team know when your calling in support fire abilities.......great idea......yet of course youll still have those who run into the area anyway like morons. Most the time they at least acknowledge and forgive you, but you do get the ones who dont time to time....which makes me wonder, wtf is the CO suppose to do? Send a freakin singing telegram to your house irl to inform you of a strike?
0:38 At times it can be incredibly hard to understand what you say, even with context. Articulate more, you buthcer some words left and right. Slower, more articulated. Advice, take it as you wish.
