When you drive up Interstate 5 in the Central Valley of California, the Blue Diamond almond orchards flank the freeway for a hundred miles. In the spring it’s all almond blossoms.
I used to know people that worked at the main plant in Sacramento 25-30 years ago. The selection in those days however was pretty plain compared to all the different added flavors they’re infusing into the nuts now a days.

Diamond has a lot of great flavors. Smoked is my favorite.
That tends to be the Northern California accent way of saying almonds. Southern Californians like myself tend to produce the L. I also noticed they tend to pronounce Sierra Nevada differently than most of the people I grew up around in San Diego.
Growing up in Chico and having almond farmers as friends, I can confirm we say it as “ammonds” locally.
My mom was from Gridley and my grandfather worked in the almond orchards. She said it the same way. @@PlantManC

I found the Cayenne/Ghost Pepper/Reaper almonds in a Walgreens of all places a couple years back and tried them out. Surprisingly, (to me at least) the cayenne pepper ones seemed the spiciest and the ghost pepper ones the least spicy. Havent see the dill ones anywhere yet. The Wasabi ones are probably my favorite.
The look on Callianne's face while sampling the dill pickle variant looked like an expression on a POW's face after a failed escape attempt.
I'm jealous. I can't have nuts. They looked great though!

I love Blue Diamond flavored almonds.......excuse me.....AAAAAAHHHHHLMONDS. ROFL

Lucky enough to live near where these are produced. There are many flavors, with my personal favorites being wasabi & soy sauce, BBQ habanero, salt n vinegar, Korean BBQ, and smokehouse.
If you're feeling adventurous, there's even blueberry, honey butter, snickerdoodle, peppermint cocoa, and elote.
I kind of like the blueberry ones. It's such an odd flavor for an almond, but I always get excited when I see them at some random truck stop out in the middle of nowhere. I'm really hoping to find those elote ones next.

The ghost pepper ones are so smoky and delicious! For non spicy, the elote ones are phenomenal!
This is so funny. I was at the grocery store the other day in the snack aisle and I saw a shelf of all of these spicy almonds and immediately thought, 'I should send these to the Try channel.' Obviously someone else had the same idea 😄
I like the Ghost Pepper almonds, and their Wasabi Soy flavor as well, because they're kind of a self-limiting snack. 🙂 You can't just sit there and munch your way through the whole can (or bag) by the handful without thinking about it, because sooner or later the spice really does kick in and makes you want to slow down and not eat so many of them in one sitting.
Oh guys you should have tried the Habenaro BBQ...so good!!!

Reason they taste like they've been on a grill or BBQ is because a great many of the packaged nut varieties tend to be smoked. This of course gives them a deeper and more robust, earthy flavor, helps them from deteriorating as swiftly and tends to soften them significantly.
I love this channel. I think Irish people are the friendliest and most attractive people in the world. Someday, I hope to be able to visit Ireland. Keep up the good work. You guys rock!
I have a lot of this brand, they don’t use preservatives that make me sick and are good snacks for diabetics. I love the dill and also the wasabi ones the most.

Love Blue Diamond Smokehouse almonds.

Classic Blue Diamond Smokehouse are still my favorite, and Almonds are fairly high in Oxalates so if you're having trouble growing your kidney stones Almonds are for you!
I enjoy those flavoured almonds, I actually have some of them right here with me, the sea salt ones. Taran ,Grainne, Cian, Sean and the wonderful Seamus seemed to enjoy them. Callyann was just her usual loud and silly self. Is Callyan in every video?
Theres been a few mix ups in the spice drawer in my life; my mom once put beef stock powder instead of sugar in her tea. My time was when I was making oatmeal for my friend and I in mason jars. I realized I used cayenne instead of cinnamon early on and told my friend id have to restart but she said it was fine so...okay, cool. Then I poured the water in and the jars shattered and there was definitely some glass in the oatmeal and my friend was still fine to eat it so I had to throw both away before she got to the kitchen cause she just did not give a damn about the cayenne and glass flavoured oatmeal XD I love her and her weirdness
Oh and the powder on the dill almonds...you're gonna find that with many of the mass produced nut varieties there will almost always be a dusty coat; with the exception of toffee covered, glazed, honey roasted etc. More often than not this dusting is a synthetic and artificial flavoring whether it be dill or otherwise, along with other finely ground spices like salt, pepper, even sugar at times

Ghost pepper is everywhere on or in many products. Fresh grown is so much better. I bought a plant last spring at the market. It actually grew in Alberta, Canada. I suggest trying fresh, not mass produced.
They should have had the Siracha flavor on here. Those are actually really good.
I didn't know it was possible to hate almonds. They are a top nut. Super healthy. Very tasty.

What were they trying, I was too busy looking at Taran.
I'm really into spicy foods, I've done the one chip challenge and some other things, and for me my 3 favorite spicy flavors are Cayenne, Chipotle, and Ghost Pepper (as long as it's near the low end of its heat range so you can taste the flavor an not get overwhelmed by the heat.) I've had the Xtremes almonds. The Carolina Reaper and the Ghost Pepper (at least to me) don't taste like the pepper they claim to be (even though they include those peppers in their ingredients.) The Carolina Reaper I didn't like at all. The Ghost Pepper was manageable heat, but didn't really taste like Ghost Pepper to me. My fave is the Cayenne, but here's the thing, I buy many different types of spicy nuts and then mix them all together. By itself it's ok, but mixed in with others it's exceptional.
Sad to not see the Wasabi and Soy Sauce ones, but the Ghost Pepper are as far as I go. They are simultaneously sweet, smokey and spicy.
Apparently CallyAnn doesn’t fancy the taste of pickled nuts, bless her heart.

IDK if i just got a defective can or something but I got one of them spicy pringles and I nearly died. I couldn't finish it. I'm generally fine with spice any other time, but damn they got me somehow.
I think Blue Diamond do a smokehouse flavour, which I really like.
The ghost pepper and carolina reaper ones are tasty... It would be awesome if someone were to be asked if they would take a whole handful and put them into their mouth and see how long they last, lol.

The reaper option is by far disappointing. I'm a chili head and eat everything hot, spicy, atomic and those are seriously weak. The ghost pepper and Wasabi Blue Diamond almonds are my favorite, along with the smoke. Very fun video, maybe when we visit in the fall, I'll bring a large California care package to drop off to ye! Love The Try Channel and all your peeps.
It's funny how they all equate pickles to McDonalds. Pickles were around at every bbq, be it sweet to dill to spicy.
