if you connrct the wires to the distributor cap in the wrong order will it cause the car to not be able to start. i 5hink my neighbor did and now car wont start
the rotor is going to point wherever it's set to point when you popped the cap, you should notate that when you first remove the cap if your just doing a normal replacement. In this video, I point out every plug and what it's placement is on the motor... the rotor "should" only go back on one way unless yours is stripped. If so, the only other option is to manually crank the #1 piston into tdc then check it's placement against the #1 intake plug I point out in this video.
Lose the eight plug setup. Plug 4. Get the crank gear from a 280Z motor and the distributor drive from a280c and a 5-10 distributor. The crank gear and drive from the 510 are also the same. Don't forget the oil Slinger.
Why in the world would you want to do that? If I was gonna Frankenstein a motor, I'd just throw on an L20b peanut head for the better flow, then over bore, get dished positions and add a turbo.... But all that still isn't worthwhile... Outright Motor swap is where it's at.
I have a 1992 b2200 Mazda I replaced the distributor and the little black wire that runs off that little black box to the coil does it go to the negative or the positive

Sonny Price, sorry, I couldn't tell you my friend. This is the distributor for a 1981 Datsun 720 with a Z22 motor.

Where do I connect my timing light? #1 intake? or #1 exhaust?
Number 1 intake
So where the rotor starts is where 1 position is?

What year model is yours or does it matter the firing order is the same
The firing order is the same for 81-86 NapZ z20, z22 and z24 motors with the dual spark plugs.

1985 350 Chevy
Another one with a finger , bad sound and motion camera.
Peugeot 504 firing order
why dont they just put the nuber fucking 1
