It's a joy to see them fight their way out without help, usually it's an important moment in their character arc, the family of blood with Martha was a favourite of mine. Except ruby though, she quite literally just gave up and went home, terrible companion.
@@mickieg1994What else was she supposed to do? Live in Wales for the rest of her life instead? Send more people after the thing 73 yards away from her? She did try to find the doctor, but since the doctor was just gone, and she wasn't able to get in the tardis, there wasn't anything she could have done.
Father’s Day is such a good episode man. Only till recently rewatching from the start of new who I realised how good it is. And the music for it. It’s great.
I just recently learned what "Doctor-Lite" means and that 73 Yards is such an episode. Even so I enjoyed the mystery I prefer those Lite-Episodes where the Doctor is still present but maybe not as promiment like in "Flatline" where he supports Clara.
Flatline's just got it all man. Goofy jokes poking fun at the Doctor and companion's respective roles within the show which also flesh out 12 and Clara's relationship dynamic, an actually terrifying brand-new baddie that's very cool conceptually, a proper Doctor moment in the end. Love it.
The classic series did Doctor-lite episodes too e.g Mission To The Unknown (1965). Edit: A few years ago these film students reconstructed the episode using the original script since the original episode is still missing from BBC archive.
Yasmin Khan... oh my heart... Her leading her own team in Flux was one of my fav parts. Her Doctorfication arc was such a highlight for me, regular everyday person taking all the best parts of the Doc to become her own kind of leader at the end.
I have enjoyed both "Doctor-Lite" episodes in the current season but couldn't they have waited until later seasons? This new version of the Doctor has not been fully established yet. We are still getting to know him in this first season.
While I appreciate the feature of Yaz, it's a bit of a stretch. I would have loved to see her in a Doctor-Lite episode, it would have been amazing to see her full range of a character. Ahhh well, bi-gones be bi-gones, maybe Big Finish can expand on her.
The trickster say the thing….he say that he been waiting through time in the Sarah Jane smith adventure in one of the episode. Therefore the trickster is the one who waits
The video title kinda made me think about lighthearted moments, NOT Pete Tyler saying farewell to Rose or Sally's and Larry's ordeal in "Blink." Cheers....
Torchwood was absolutely brilliant, I loved the serious tone of the show and how it incorporated itself into the universe, captain Jack would of been the best companion.
@@robmic8180 wdym? It's just a shorter & easier term for the title of the video (and to say) rather than "Companions and Friends of The Doctor Moments".
Fathers day is an underrated banger
Agreed. Best Series 1 episode.
But it’s not really a whole Doctor lite episode
@NoahAG I think it's because in one of his interviews Eccleston says that he considers it Doctor lite
@@masonspencer918 Ah okay but I don’t because he’s in the episode mostly

hi Quinton :)
How's the Garfield motel treating you?
Honestly I love it when the companions have to try and save the day with out the doctor

Girl Who Waited seemed more Doctor-lite than Night Terrors
I miss Clara 🥺. She was the best companion. She and the 11th and the 12th docters were an awesome team ❤
Dr lite episodes are so important because they flesh out the world so much or develop the companions!!!
When Jackie from the past finally realizes what's going on it's such a powerful moment
Fr, I love this scene

If the Doctor was to ever regenerate into a companion. I choose Clara
Fathers Day is so good, Billie is just incredible, "my daddy" 😭😭

I didn't see Love and Monsters in the video?
@@OperationBlueprint8:05
@@ClintBandito It's just a blank screen
And the episode wasn't even that bad just bad for Doctor who standards. So they are usually pretty high

My god Fathers Day is so incredible
trying to get us prepped for the second doctor-lite episode in a row with dot and bubble?

I love that these episodes are great as they are because of production needing two episodes filmed around the same time.
Yaz is breaking my heart so much
I have enjoyed both "Doctor-Lite" episodes in the current season but couldn't they have waited until later seasons? This new version of the Doctor has not been fully established yet. We are still getting to know him in this first season.
actor was busy so that's why there was more Doctor Lite episodes
Gotta go and re-watch Turn Left! No no start with midnight THEN turn left. might as well finish with The End of Time (be rude not to)

Doctor Who is so good for you
You could upload any hartnell episode to this
Right in the feel's.
Father's day is one of the emotional episodes ever
Doctor lite series even ( I know spin offs) : Torchwood and Sarah Jane adventures. Also Class.
I would love another spin off...

@@mickieg1994 loved it too. The last season wasn't just my thing.
What about Bills Doctor-Lite moments?
I feel like the Girl who waited is more of a Doctor-lite story than Night terrors is...
We're in the multiverse!
Lite?
other characters acting like the doctor
Means the doctor is not there or almost not there. 90% of these shows you see other people than the doctor.

Light, light, LIGHT! What is this 'lite' business mmmm, mmmm?
Since when was the likes of Spearhead from Space and Night Terrors Doctor lite?
Tis Doctor-Lite moments within episodes, not solely Doctor-Lite eps 👌
💙💙💙💙
What does lite mean
The doctor is almost not in these episodes
Shoulda called it "Nurse moments"
Night Terrors is not Doctor-lite lol
The video is about Doctor-lite *moments*, not episodes.

First comment thankyou
Gotta let the new audience know that 73 Yards is a normal occurrence and shouldn't be of any alarm.
Looks like next episode might be Doctor lite too
