WHERE TO STAY IN MERIDA, MEXICO | Two AMAZING Hotel Reviews
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 лип 2024
- This week we're showing you two great hotel options for your stay when you come to Merida, Mexico! Are there the big, international hotel chains like Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton in Merida? Of course! And if you're looking for the the same standard hotel experience as you'd find pretty much anywhere in the world, then definitely stay with them.
But we wanted to take you to two wonderful boutique hotels that give you a taste for what it's like to live in this beautiful city: Kuka y Naranjo and The Diplomat Hotel. These beautifully renovated old colonials are GEMS down in Centro, and each are staffed with wonderful people who will make your stay in Merida memorable. Do you have a favorite place to stay in Merida? Let us know in the comments!

Where's your favorite place to stay in Merida?
Too hot... I live in Queretaro now.
My pool.
Hi Travis and David! Thanks for the amazing video as always! My husband and I just put our home on the market for sale TODAY! 😬 We are planning to move to Mexico within a few months. We bought your course to help us transition smoothly. We want to move to Puerto Escondido then travel all around Mexico. Hoping to meet you both. Blessings and thank you for sharing such amazing content. You inspired us to make the leap of faith. 🙏🥰
anywhere and everywhere at anytime it's all good
El Barrio for breakfast.
Hola chicos. I miss you and look every Thursday and no videos for three weeks. I hope you are safe and healthy so let us all know. Waiting patiently for your return .
Kuka y Naranja, before becoming a hotel, used to be my dad’s childhood home and the building had been in the family for countless decades until being sold to the new owners of Kuka y Naranja. I’m still in the San Juan area so I’ve gone to the Kombucheria for nostalgia, they’ve done a really great job and I hope their business continues to flourish. I haven’t been able to see the inside of the hotel area since it was sold, so I really appreciate all the footage! Glad you guys enjoyed this part of the centro. ❤
Always enjoy your videos, the best to you both, enjoy your adventures!
20 Cafes con Leche for this video…can we all just jump for joy on this video. You two are the best and I love how much you’re enjoying your new life. Good to see you both doing well. 💕 Hugs from the California desert 🏜
Your excitement (and exploding heads) with the plant-based breakfast had us LAUGH OUT LOUD! Awesome video guys! We missed you last week. Glad you're back!
I like your videos , very informative, and enjoyable to watch.
OMG!!! I am soooooo happy to see my favorite two UA-camrs back in effect!! 😇You've been missed!! Okay, now let's talk about how David looked as if he was going to cry tears of joy looking at that breakfast!! lol 🤣 These were indeed very beautiful Hotels! I will have to try one of these locations when I arrive in Merida. Thank you for sharing and storytelling in a way that only you guys can! Peace & Love, always!! 💝
Haha happy to be back! And that breakfast was 🤯🤯🤯
Like video. Big fan of your videos. Saludos de Los Angeles, California 🇲🇽.
Hi Cafeiños!
Give thanks that the USA Marines are busy being ready to be deployed to Europe… I was going to send them to find you two guys.
I’m glad you’re back!
Be safe and stay healthy!
🤣😂🤣
They are needed on the streets of the USA
I am still living and loving Querétaro. My late husband was named David. Enjoy that too hot Merida guys.
Yay you are back...the worry mama in me had images of heat stroke, covid, lions and tigers and bears, oh my!! And OMG, want to hop a plane and move in to either one of those places....thanks for an awesome video and glad Travis recovered!
Haha we’re glad to be back and sorry to have worried you!! ❤️❤️❤️
oh no, not another no cafe con leche thursday...you guys ok???!
WHERE YOU GUYS AT? Miss y'all much!🤣
Great information. I definitely would love to stay in one of these. Love you guys! Thank you for the video, this really helps. ❤️🌷😊
Great video! I just spent the last 3 days in Hotel Santa Maria in El Centro and loved it. It was beautiful 💗 my husband and I have stayed in 8 or 9 different hotels in Merida but this one was exceptionally lovely. The staff was great too.
YESSSSS!!! We missed you!! So glad you're back❤️‼️
Great recommendations guys … looks fantastic 😁
Love this!! Thank you!
So great to see you guys back! I love jamaica too David. As long as it's not too sweet, it's super refreshing. That burger at Kuka y Naranjo looked amazing. I love the honesty system at The Diplomat and hope people do as they should. I stayed at a place like that once. What a wonderful breakfast! TWO chefs, wow! "Run, don't walk," hahahahaha. Another great video - Anne
Great to see you back! Honesty shop, honesty bar, incredibly friendly people - so, stereotypical Canadian?
Truly!
Oh my gosh you are back!! Yei! I was missing you guys, I love your videos. I am so glad you made this video, those hotels look amazing! I was thinking to rent an airbnb next time, but I think I probably changed my mind. Thanks.
My favorite couple 🇲🇽🥰Can’t wait to possibly meet you in Merida!! Greetings from California 🙌🏽
So glad you guys are back!
I saw your interview. You were great.
Thank You!! Will add to my list!!!
I wondered where you two were. So glad to see you. I missed you.😘
Loved the video looking to book any of them
So glad to see you back! I wanted to share that you can get jamaica (hibiscus) petals at local markets. Just boil a few cups of water and add the leaves. Let them steep, add sweetener if desired and enjoy jamaica tea! It’s rumored to be good for digestion, too! ☺️🌺
Oooo thanks for the tip!! ❤️❤️❤️
wow! We stayed at Kuka & Naranjo back in January, the place is awesome!!!
As always! Loved this video. The Diplomat REALLY piqued my interest. Great job. On to your next adventure.
❤️❤️❤️
Omg Y’all are back🙏🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 So nice to see you both again! My favs
❤️❤️❤️
Your amazing positive impact in the world is beyond any competition. Much love to you guys❤️
That’s so kind! ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome!!! We will definitely have to try The Diplomat. I love that it has a vegan breakfast. We have stayed at the Mansion Merida and the Xcanatun. Both were fabulous places to stay, the Mansion Merida did not offer vegan dishes, (I had a large fruit plate), but the Xcanatun did. Both were more than $250 a night.
Hey guys great info and would be a good idea to spend a few nights in both hotel’s. Greetings from London🇬🇧
Really missed you guys. This was so good. I would do both of those hotels. I love kind people & welcoming service. So yes.👌🏾 Thanks for sharing options. I wouldn't be mad at a voice over. 'ROLL THAT BEAUTIFUL BEAN FOOTAGE!' 🙏❤️👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
🤣😂🤣
Love the Diplomat. We stayed there on our first visit to Merida. We joke that Neil and Sara are mostly responsible for us moving here. Keep up the good work guys
I am cackling behind y'all's experience at the diplomat!!! Lolololol. Chile, I could feel the luxury and the bougie through the screen! Definitely older black women approved. Lolol. Now I know where to post my girls up when we visit.
🤣😂🤣
YAAAAY!!!
Beloveds, sending warmest wishes🌾 trying to remain positive amidst soo much. You two are missed.
Oh, yall are a little late with this review. I was in Merida about 10 days ago. I stayed at a small place Hotel Reforma. The only challenge was walking up a few flights of stairs to get to my room. They do give you the option to stay on a lower floor. It is a few blocks from the cathedral. It's super basic... also super affordable. I paid less than $30/nt so no complaints.
That sounds like a great deal!
I miss you guuuys! Hope you are great!
We are going in September to Merida. We will definitely book.the Diplomat. The hotel looks awesome. Thank you for the great video and reviews.
You won’t be disappointed!! ❤️❤️❤️
We know two great hotels! A cousin owns BoutiquebytheMuseo and TreeHouse Boutique Hotel. We stayed at BoutiquebytheMuseo and it was so lovely and the location was super ideal. They’re both next to each other one block off Paseo Montejo. There’s also a cafe/bakery that they own there called Pan & Køf.feé that had chocolate & almond croissants to die for.
Ooo great tips!
Mis dos caballeros favorito Bienvenido de nuevo
So glad to see your faces!! Should have guessed you had your mugs in a meal someplace!! lol
🤣😂🤣
Really nice places to stay, but that breakfast at the Diplomat, yeah, that's where i would have to stay
What’s up guys? Hope all is ok, haven’t heard or seen in a month except for this one.
Thanks!
Hello, guys! Haven’t seen you for a while. Hope all is well. I’m in Palm Springs area and it is HOT & HUMID (Mexican monsoon humid). Downpours in Az but no rain here.
hi , I'm new here , and just watch all of your videos , I love all the content you share so much
planning to move to Mexico next year .
may I ask how much u pay for water and electricity for month ??? thank you
Just watched your video! Love The Diplomat I looked it up because my husband and are I are going to be in Merida in November but the rate is much higher than you mention !
Ah yes - the summer is the slow time in Merida so it was less expensive when we went.
Missing you guys 😢
Rosas de Xocolate has live jazz music great food and the rooms are fantastic, the owner is cool as ice and always around making sure things are right, old school"
Ah yes - we've wanted to stop by there because we've heard great things!
❤️❤️🥂🥂
So happy to see you back!! Do you know if any of the hotels have airport pick up services? ❤
We're not sure but they probably will help arrange it!
@@TravelWTravis Thank you sweet boys! Hopefully you’ll still be there next year (Merida) and we could meet, that would be #awesome!!
Can you guys do a video about Salvador Alvarado Stadium?
Great video guys, but ugh a couple of hours to late I already booked elsewhere.
Oh no! Well hopefully you found a great spot!
Never too late.lol
This was a great idea to showcase local hotels as now there seems to be a shift from Airbnbs due to the CUHRAZY Fees they are charging now!
Amen to that!
I may stay at the Diplomat the next time I visit. I want to shop at the Honesty store. 😝
Do it! It’s wonderful!
OK, YOU GUYS-WHAT IS UP, REALLY?
Did Travis have a relapse or what?
You were gone for three Thursday, only to return for one Thursday and saying you
were sorry for worrying us...and yet, once again you have vanished.
Tell us, what is up really? Are you having a Merida melt-down?
Ya know, your videos do not have to be up-beat, just let us know how you are!!!!
I'm looking for northeast and northwest for a scouting trip. I don't want to pay that much but be safe.
Check out Piedra de Agua Hotel. VERY centrally located on Calle 60, 1/2 block from Cathedral San Ildefonso. Under $100.
Thanks for the tip!
Both of those boutique hotels looked fantastic! The vegetarian and vegan offerings are fantastic, the Diplomat breakfast looked amazing! Just a suggestion . . . since David's diastema is closed, you may want to do the same for the logo David.
Ah yes we need to update that for sure!
Are yall still making videos?
Hey guys! :) Love your videos. I'm moving to Merida in a week with my wife and five cats. In one video, y'all mentioned you have a great orthodontist you'd recommend... Would you mind please sharing their contact with me? And any general dentist you'd recommend?
Hope you like the extreme heat and humidity and the critters.
Any word from these boys?? I checked all their SM & the website. No info. They ok??? Thanks
I think David made a trip to LA for a few weeks as part of his music career.
$150/night……………….HELL NO! It is 2024 and their prices are anywhere from $275- $305 per night! Way too much for breakfast included….no thank you! The rate increase in 1 year from posted.
We have been in Mexico since the end of May (Mexico city and now in Merida) I have been watching your videos, you look so happy but it is NOT for us. 40C no thanks, nobody on the streets (boring), water, this is a big problem, banking system: a mess, I cannot get more than $450.00 at the ATM. We think we found paradise but not in Mexico.
It's nice to read a different point of view. Honesty is appreciated.
Where did you find paradise? I’m genuinely curious
To each his own but we’re glad you found your slice of paradise!
