Hey there! If you want to learn how to build a career writing film & game music, check out my 6-week Composing Career Bootcamp: zachheyde.com/composing-career-bootcamp
I know I’m not the first to mention this, but this piece reminds me a ton of Ori and the Blind Forest. Gareth Coker is my all time favorite composer, so this is a huge compliment!
I really think you could have written music for the videogame "Ori & the Will of the Wisps". Your composition/track is really in the style of Gareth Coker. The use of choir harmonizing with the strings and the pulsing celeste and harp on top hits me with nostalgia... you don't know how much fun I had with that game!
These are marvellous times we live in that a master like Zach Heyde can help someone like me who studied composition over 10 years ago get back on the horse for free! :D
Hi there, what is the thing you are using with your mouth? I'm guessing it is for expression? I took a look on your gear list and couldn't see it but it looks like a really interesting tool. Great video by the way! I would love to see something on how you mix on the fly (particularly the EQing) as that is personally a weak spot and I can see that you have a great ear for it.
Thank you for the very inspiring and wonderful video! A technical question: around 1:50 how do you record the strings sections all together and have the voices splitted between the tracks? (using divisimate or some other logic functions?) Thank you!
This is incredible work, I just recently acquired a midi keyboard and have been struggling to find a decent place to get VSTi’s like virtual instruments of the sorts for music composition, where would I look?
I've really wanted to get into digital composing for a while now. I've got FL Studio but not sure which orchestral vst's to get that don't cost a fortune. Any suggestions? Also, what would be a good midi keyboard for a decent price?
You could try EastWest's Composer Cloud subscription, or grab Spitfire's orchestra for around $50 (I think)! MIDI keyboards vary--just make sure it has a mod wheel!
i just got asked to score an rpg but coming from a heavy dark electronic background im having a really hard time not making things funky or not getting bored when i try to be symphonic...it all ends up sounding like FF7 music with finger bass or synthy breaks. help me fix my brain please. lol
