I had last week off from work, with the three concerts I was going to cancelled, watching all the Forester Gump videos gave me lots of ideas for my brand new WRX "Tighty Whitey". Made a week off during a pandemic less pointless and boring!
I applaud people who have the patience to spend that much time replacing headlights! I started driving when halogens were "new" and thought THOSE were the best thing ever.
Dude I bought the first set of mid depth sockets Matco made back in 05 and I use them as my primary set to this day, I LOVE THEM. I tell my people looking to get into the automotive field that they need to be one of the first sets they buy.
Yep. Not many girls like her around . There's something about a girl wearing tight shorts , who can do all this repair stuff and fix cars with such attention to detail that makes her SO damn sexy !!! Fantastic stuff girl , keep it up !!!
Unbelievable. Tons of work to make a mod on your car most people won’t even notice. Love your OCD and admire you for your patience and skills. Great work and wonderful entertainment. Keep on.
You make these tutorials so thorough. I enjoy the comedy, the not to subtle innuendo's. They are very informative, and give me ideas on stuff I'm doing (or trying to do) and you are super easy on the eyes. Keep it up young lady.
Watching your blog has become a habit every episode demonstrates your creative, persistent capabilities. Please keep up the good work you are a pleasure to watch.
thank you, finally somebody showed how the projector actually mounts inside the housing instead of just talking about it, btw, the reason the reflecting surface inside the headlight comes off so easy is because it is actually a solution of pure silver not chrome, if it were chrome it wouldn't wipe off but it also wouldn't reflect the light, chrome shines but doesn't actually reflect.....
You made that retrofit look easy. I've done a couple and while the results are worth the trouble that is not a easy project. Keep up the great work Sarah!
hard core mod! changing up the headlight assemlies to this degree is really impressive! I think its gonna look great! and as always, you're doing a helluva job!
what a classic... maybe an all time best video! best in content, best in editing, best in music, ...and best in Sarah! ("there is an innuendo in there someplace")
A bunch of respect for your skill, patience, and multitasking abilities to do all of this. I just bought me a Crosstrek and came across your videos. Love the content. Hope to learn a thing or two about subies from you through your vids.
I can't believe how good the quality of your work is and has always been Sara. I would NEVER try to do what you did with these lights...I'm thoroughly impressed as usual.
Love the G.I. Joe ref. Props on this mod. Headlights are intimidating. There is so much that can go wrong, that can't be undone. You nailed it (giggity)! Thanks for sharing.
Good to see your videos. A little skeptical at first, but found myself enjoying your content and humor. I'll keep smashing the thumbs up button when I watch your videos. Thanks for adding to my list of entertainment and DIY know how. Keep up the good work.
I have the same hobby as you but you are way up there .Amazing patience, dedication, gutsy and focused and good looking too. Keep it up girl .Thanks for your wonderful videos.
Welp, if you're gonna endeavor a super time-consuming project, now's the perfect time! Sarah takes 'shelter in place' to the next level. Cool project. Cheers! And, projector beams ROCK! I had a pair of PIAA 959's on my first Subie (YEARS ago). Frickin' loved those things.
Sometimes it seems a day's working on the vehicles takes a little out of you and a little dazzle shows up but remarkably you bounce back vibrant and as beautiful...(and funny) as the start of the day before...!!! yay...!!!
hi Sarah.. there is a tape called fine line its great for cutting a fine line to start your cover point and then after that you can use thicker tape on it to protect your stuff, fine line you can manouver around corners and it holds nice
Hi Sarah, love the videos, particularly the attention to detail. Can I suggest changing your orange indicator bulbs for chrome or LED to get rid of the ‘fried egg look’ keep up the good work.
This just turned into a Peter Jackson 3 part epic! 😊 Its certainly a nail biter and I'm constantly amazed how much work you're willing to put in to get the results you want. Hope everything goes to plan 🤞 Thanks Sarah for continuing to make great content in these difficult times. Its appreciated.
Sarah, I saw this video come up right after you uploaded it. It said there was no views yet. Could I have been the first to view it? That’s so cool, I’ve never had that happen to me. Loved the video, like all you do. Keep up the content and don’t change.
Another great video Sarah. You have kept me sane through all this insanity that’s been going on. I’m slipping a bit though. I have watched every single back issue. I may have to start all over at the beginning. What, wait...no, I can check out all your TFL car reviews. 👏👏👏 you’ve saved my sanity again. No...really. I do appreciate your work. I honestly believe that you are one of the best UA-camr’s around. No, really I do. Ok, I’ll stop now......
Did a clear lens swap and bulb upgrade to my mothers RX350, a couple of christmases ago. Drove around late a night one night, to test headlight leveling and the AFS system. A number of people called the police as I did the same thing, drove around without a front bumper and headlight lenses.
@@SarahnTuned A middle class neighborhood, I am sure it was Karen. In the persons defense, I did have to make numerous short drives; probably looked like I was casing the neighborhood.
Wow great stuff Sarah!! last summer i installed a fog light kit on my Chevy Cruze ( with some help from a friend ) and it made a big difference on how my front end looks now : ) So i really like these mods that you do!!
Nice work, Sarah; you are one brave refabricator! If I had to make that many mods, I would be afraid of ruining my headlights and having to buy new ones (could be due to lack of patience).
Is it just me or has Sarah seemed to be in a better mood of late? Less stressed, less overwhelmed? Either way, I am happy for ya, keep up the cool videos and cooler cars.
I remember when you were trying to figure out how to change the diff oil on your forester. You've come a long way since then with a technical mod like this.
Theres a thin vinyl tape that would be great for taping off that difficult LED channel thing. It has more flex than masking tape. I used to use it when doing finish work on guitars but I believe custom auto paint folks use it to. Nice work!
You can make your own DIY power supply using a xbox power adapter. So you don't have to mount them on the headlights on the vehicle to do adjustments. When everything is final assembled you can adjust the vertical height only. For base height reference use the dot on the headlight lense that's your starting point for height adjustment.
I always love watching your videos, and I understand the need for time-lapse. I'm definitely not criticizing in any way, but I really wanted to see a little more detail when you were cutting in the bowl for the projector. Was hoping it went just a tad slower. You definitely have excellent skills and I'm a little envious of the work you do. Great job!
Hey Sarah, I’ve painted my brake calipers over the last few days in my garage and it took literally a day of sanding them and get everything spot on. Luckily I’m not on the same ocd level as you or it would have taken a whole week. I have the greatest respect for your work (and cleaning😉). So anyway keep on wrenching and stay safe!
I didn't this retrofit with my 2001 Acura TL. I enjoyed those dual high beams, the cut-off, and those 600k HIDs 🙌🏽. Turned around and sold my car to a High schooler.
I think it's awesome that you paint on your city supplied trash can too! my trash guys probably think I'm nuts. all of my neighbors cans still look brand new.
With the quality of your videos I’m surprised you don’t have well over 1m subs. Oh well, patience is a virtue and you’ve got that covered! 👍🇦🇺 (Australia)
We used to do that in the factory where I worked, Vacuum Plating was awesome if you wanted a funky phone case or anything else plating, just used to bribe the guys running it with coffee.
Really nice work so far. It's a lotta work, but the difference in beam pattern and light focus is worth it, especially when you can't see sh!t at night, like me.
So, you must be cool with the front/rear height balance of the coil-over kit to embark on this. You have amazing patience, skill and attention to detail. I would have to lock up the 8lb. Sledgehammer halfway through a project like this.
@Sarah -n- Tuned If you want a real challenge. I retrofitted my headlights too, but after finishing the first set i decided to make a version 2. I fitted 2 projectors in each headlight, so now i have 4 low and 4 high beams. They are mounted so all of them line up.

I’m excited about the cut on the beam. It’s so defined! I have to look into doing these on my ride.🙂
You have the patience of a saint on this stuff! I personally hate any projection headlight that has a sharp cutoff.
Did a clear lens swap and bulb upgrade to my mothers RX350, a couple of christmases ago. Drove around late a night one night, to test headlight leveling and the AFS system. A number of people called the police as I did the same thing, drove around without a front bumper and headlight lenses.

side note if you pull the tape off at a 45 degre angle when the paint is still soft you wont mess up the edge..
