On the Greenworks corded model, the little grease plug is so tiny, regular echo or stihl string trimmer grease won't screw into it. You have to get creative sometimes. Owner's manual says nothing about greasing the gearbox. Also, I think it had some sort of polyurea grease. Be careful about mixing different grease together because they can liquefy if you add lithium grease. If you can get a sample of what's in the gearbox, try mixing the new grease with the old grease first.

Might be the drive cable is on the way out or the gears in the foot have broken loose

Would rather have seen you pull the faulty head apart rather than just replacing it.
Getting the exact problem but the gear in my trimmer isnt stripped
