    I totally agree with fixing the plate any way you can before purchasing a new one. How frustrating it must be to tell the owner what caused the problem and then to see him do the same thing. Anyway you diagnosed the problem and fixed it. Great job. Thanks for the tips and videos.

    Thank you for a indepth tutorial!!! I would have tried to get the metal air filter part back in to shape like you did. Perhaps would have used a press or small c-clamp first to maintian metal choke cover and press in to being flat. That's just me. However, your hammer method did the trick faster. Either way the end result took care of the issue. Much appreciated video!!! 🤩

(Plus if you are doing it for $ it keeps the cost of your repair down and expedites getting it back to a customer if you're not waiting on parts you're not likely to have on hand)...another great video...cheers!

    My srm 225 turns on but dies after about 10 seconds. The screen is clean, I even learned how to remove the brass cap so that I can adjust the carburetor but it still turns off. I don't know anything about this stuff so I just saw a couple of videos on how to replace the spark plug and hopefully that's all I need to fix. I don't think it's a year old yet that's why the screen was clean. How often should you change the spark plug? I guess it depends on how often you use it. Thanks for the videos.

It started up and revved up stronger like new but it still turns off. I even adjusted the carb once again but that didn't help either. Thanks for your videos. My brother in law's trimmer looks like it's in worse shape. His won't even start. I'd like to learn how to fix mine before I even try to fix his. Yeah, I'll see if replacing the diaphragm does the trick. Thanks once again.

    Hey HG watching this video I found two free GT225 much like the SRM's jthe own was having such issues with them both starting he went electric . I pretty much knew from the first look that the fuel mix was to heavy on the oil . He is a neighbor so I told him and he did not care he wanted them gone . Short story dumped old fuel rinsed out with gas then used my premix from husqvarna . One started right up and once the fuel ran threw it ran great the other would start but not go full rpm . I did not see any adjustment screws on this echo carb so I bought a new carb and same thing (I check exhaust screen before all this) compression on both over 120 psi tested to see if I had vacuum leak nope plug is new also . Where do I go from here ?

    • @HomeGaragechannel
      @HomeGaragechannel  2 роки тому +1

      hmm. the carb is adjustable but they hid them. A new carb, works for a "new" engine but sometimes it won't work without a slight adjustment. Also, failed attempt to start a trimmer will also flood it, making this even more difficult

    • @Mrcrowley1967
      @Mrcrowley1967 2 роки тому

    Hey HG, I have a question. I've been using some Tygon-style line in a few of my machines, and for some reason, it keeps getting hard and shrinking so that it doesn't seal anymore where it comes out of the tank. It does this very quickly, maybe even within a few weeks. I do use ethanol fuel, but it still shouldn't be doing this so quickly. I add a fuel additive called quickare, maybe that's doing something? Do you have any ideas what's going on? Thanks a lot!

    • @HomeGaragechannel

      the additive is only to keep the fuel, usable not from harming fuel lines, and diaphragms, My suggestion, Is to use Real Tygon line, but it's about 3 times the price of the Tygon "like" line.
