Been loving watching these videos whilst making my own underhive. One wee tip I did stumble upon was the hatches for the platforms with err the hatches fit perfectly inside the cut pipes and are a good ending point for them 🙂
This video was GREAT!! I have 3-4 boxes of walls and columns, and it is no fun piecing every separate piece together when ever I play. Your "semi modular" idea was one of the best ideas I have seen....cant wait to put it to use!!
These videos have been super super helpful! Thank you! Are you planning on doing one for the Stronghold? As I bought one of the sets for Killteam, before getting into Necromunda ; the walls seems to provide a good source of “long” walls and the bottom halves of the walls also look like they’d be great as roadblocks / low cover… But it would be great to see what I should glue together and what I should leave apart for ensuring best modularity!
Thanks Andrew, I do have the stronghold. I actually found it to be one of the better, more modular kits. With that I basically made all the corner pieces as separates. And all the wall sections as the instructions suggested. Basically don’t glue anything you feel like you might want to move around. Like the little triangle parts and the railings. So all the walls and corners were separate. Then anything that goes on top like the four legged platforms and sump tank kept separate. These clip quite well but a bit of Blue Tak really helps. I may do a video on it in the future but the stronghold is pretty well thought out.
Yeah, pretty much. But more importantly, if you accidentally knock it (and you know it happens), it doesn’t all scatter into a million pieces. And with semi-modular the speed to build a table is slower than tiles but much faster than full modularity. 👍🏼
If you were provided any combination of ZM wall sprues with your "columns and walls" purchase, what other semi modular combinations would you reccomend? 2 long wals as a corner? A T shape? An X shape? You have clearly put alot of thought into this and was wondering if you wished you had done anything different.
Honestly. No. With the parts I have now I can literally building any shape and size I can think of up to 3 levels high. I don’t go higher simply because o can’t see over the top when playing! 🤣🤣
It’s a scan and print of my larger mat that I bought from PWorkwargames.com. It’s called The Underhive. I just made a smaller version for the videos. There’s a battlemat and alt tile options video coming up soon. Stay tuned. 🧐
I’m still trying to figure out a good secure way of delivering files to viewers. Mainly because as this channel progresses there’ll be a lot more of them coming. If you’ve got somewhere I can upload them I can send you the digital files?
@@thestateofplay2023 off the top of my head sadly I do not. But I'll keep an ear out. Just found your channel today and with me using leo's semi modular idea I'm glad I did. Great work and keep it up!

Thanks for that! One of those brow slapping moments when I go, “of course they would, why didn’t I think of that!”.
Thanks!
Can I have some pipes please? 😅 I don’t wanna get scalped necromunda dad
@@TOAST-FACEKILLAH Sorry, I used them to fix the Kitchen tap, the bathroom sink and redid the exhaust on my car....🤣🤣

Really interesting. Thank you.
My pleasure! Hope it helped.

@@thestateofplay2023 thanks for the quick reply! That’s very helpful!
I swear you and a few other channels are trying to get me to abandon my planned hobby projects, and jump head first into making a Necromunda board.
Haha! Be careful, it’s a slippery slope. Ah, who am I kidding, it’s a vertical slide with grease on it!
Well thanks! And thanks for the videos. You are doing the God-Emperors work!
fantastic video again!
Love the video! So basically you prefer semi modular because of the better sturdiness? An acceptable tradeoff to full modularity?
Yeah, pretty much. But more importantly, if you accidentally knock it (and you know it happens), it doesn’t all scatter into a million pieces. And with semi-modular the speed to build a table is slower than tiles but much faster than full modularity. 👍🏼
Oh god, I like your printed floors and the little cards for setups you made. Any chance, you offer those for download?
Eventually I was planning on a Patreon where I’ll offer all my files. Not sure I’m there yet. 😜
Hopefully soon pal.
great video !
Thanks!

Great series of videos! Where did you source your smaller battle mat that you use to demo the column layouts? 4:40

Never knew the tops flipped over so u can stack up. I glued mine down. 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️😂😂😂😂
🧐
Any way to get a scan of your mini table tiles?
