Bro, I appreciate these videos. I think I'm finally ready to follow through with my childhood dream, even if it's 25 years later. These videos help alot.
Hey Rick. Just bought the Maui 44G2’s over the weekend. Got a great deal from NLFX ($5,000 shipped). Was looking at the Bose 32 ‘w/Sub 2 (was too expensive and kinda unstable), the DB ES1203 (not great bass from the double 12) and the Evox 12 (out of stock everywhere and price keeps rising) Thanks for the video and review. Love the speakers. Gonna rock them at most of my 50+ weddings this year.
It's interesting the lighting is all white. My last wedding was the same way. I wonder if this is a trend now? I prefer the different colors and more wash, but it's interesting to see this event is really similar to my last one. It was the first time I had a request for all white lighting.
So im looking for a speaker system to invest in and have it narrowed down to either LD maui 44 or the 28. Or else getting ev tops and subs. Typically I do 100 to 200 indoor weddings. Only handful outside about the same range. What would your recommendation be? (Sorry if your tired of questions like this) aha
I love good sounding speakers as much as the next guy, but I can’t help but wonder if 99 out of 100 clients wouldn’t know the difference in sound from these to jbl eons from 2003.
I think most people do subconsciously recognize good sound - there’s obviously a limit though. I’d guess in general each price tier is somewhat distinguishable, but not the different ones within each tier.
That’s what I say. One of the greatest DJs mentioned that we, as DJs do all these mixes, scratches, and buy great equipment. But do we do it because our clients want it, or is it us. I believe the crowd enjoys the good music because it takes them to memory lane, and at the same time they are grateful for how the sound is projected to them, if this makes sense. Other than that, there’s nothing wrong with upgrading if money is not an issue. We as humans are never satisfied.

Could you check the pattern on that mic so it fixes the audio issue for your next video. Not sure what mic that is as I don't recognize it at the moment. As such, it can be placed on stage like a stage box to take in all the mics, instruments, etc and feed all the monitors and speakers. It includes a Noise gate on each XLR input, an EQ in each input, and a compressor on each input. They have dsp there is a whole app for them. And as I said there amazing but they should be they cost 6000. Which is insane cus you can buy a lot of speakers for 6k like subs and tops. Really most DJs I know never use built in features or prefer to not have them as it just adds complexity In the production word we hate speakers with all that extra bs. I want to use a dedicated mixer and have the speakers give an accurate sound as to what I am sending it. Lighting is to the request of the client not my choice of course. White only even after a lot of pics and vids. Still just white only. Assistants don't need to dress up to the nines. Jeans and a branded polo is perfectly acceptable. They are always in the background. Agree to disagree. That's my stand point.
@RickWebb I like your videos but I can’t see you stroke the Maui Systems like there the best thing since sliced bread. I have to strongly disagree using these Maui speakers for main events. It’s ok if the guests dress like they’re at Costco, they aren’t paid to be there. You are, show some respect lol.
Love your work man, you put a lot of passion in what you do, it’s inspiring!
They have dsp there is a whole app for them. And as I said there amazing but they should be they cost 6000. Which is insane cus you can buy a lot of speakers for 6k like subs and tops.
Really most DJs I know never use built in features or prefer to not have them as it just adds complexity
In the production word we hate speakers with all that extra bs.
Very expensive cost for india LD MAUI 44 G2
Do some djing so mix pre mixed shit is corny facts not hater but everyone’s a dj now
90% was mixing. 10% was some pre made mashups for bathroom breaks
Wait… is your assistant wearing jeans during the reception!? 😬😬😬
Lol yeah. More than half the guests are too.
@@DJRickWeb from the video doesn’t look like guests are wearing jeans, but ok lol… 😬
@@DJRickWeb and that make it acceptable with what you charge
Your helper wears jeans? AT A WEDDING
Yep. Its no big deal in the south. The venue is luna trail farm lol
@@DJRickWeb that's cool. I wish it were that way where I am.
@RickWebb I like your videos but I can’t see you stroke the Maui Systems like there the best thing since sliced bread. I have to strongly disagree using these Maui speakers for main events. I can see using them for Cocktail, solo musician, conference or ceremony. The YORKVILLE PSA1’s are the way to go especially for the price. Let’s leave the Maui systems for the retirement homes and the bedroom DJs.
Lol no. Have you heard these things or use them. They really are extremely capable. Used them for 5 events now up to 150 people not issues a plenty of head room
Nice I am doing a upcoming dj gig March 25 would you like me to send footage to you
Last dance in there wedding day why you say it like that with no excitement it’s there wedding use that tone of voice for an announcement like some one lose their keys 🤦🏽♂️🤷🏾

Db technologies es1203
ES1203 provides very little bass under 80Hz. Not bad if you want to bring a separate sub, but kinda defeats the point. All midrange and no tweeters for upper frequencies.
