I just finished applying the dye/sealer to a 2006 Saab 9-5 I purchased ( I am restoring it). They had some stains (pink...not sure how that happened) and a number of worn areas/cracking/scrapes, especially on the bolsters. I watched this video and ordered the product. I had them custom match my leather by sending in a little piece. They nailed the color.....spot on! The seats truly look AMAZING now. I am so impressed with the results. The seats look like NEW! It takes some time to perform each step and wait the appropriate time before moving on. You also need to make sure and spend time prepping/cleaning the seats properly first, but the results are so worth it! It was a lot of fun seeing the transformation.
How did you get the piece of leather?
@@mrpanda2655
He cut a piece of trim from another car. I am the owner of that other car.
People complaining about the length of this video must not have a significant investment in their cars, if they did they would know how terrifying the prospect of accidentally destroying your interior leather due to a lack of knowledge is. This video is soooo helpful and you rock! Thank you ,thank you ,thank you !
YOU ARE A TOTAL LEATHER LOVER. I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYONE DISCUSS LEATHER DYEING AS THOROUGHLY LIKE A PASTOR LIKE YOU.
I repaired my Ford Mustang driver's seat with your products and it looks fantastic...like new!!!
The demonstrator reminds me of John Candy in the movie Plants, Trains, and Automobils....good job explaining the steps.
He goes step by step. Most UA-cam videos are a lot longer cuz you need to keep rewinding, and sometimes you can't understand what they're saying, they show half and name of the product are using. And I don't understand, why people would subscribe. Thank you for explaining everything in detail.
Have watched dozens of videos thinking that will take forever and I dont have that much time. This is absolutley the most straightforward approach and much faster that I thought.👌
Hello, yes it can go much faster. However, when we produce the videos we want to take the time to explain everything ( and even repeat ourselves ) so this way the customer feels confident when they order their kit receive it at home and do the work.
Thank you for choosing LeatherTouchupDye.com
Bob Ross of Leather Filler.
I sold automotive leather for almost thirty years through the late nineties to Ford, GM, and Chrysler. The surface color you see on the seat are not dyes but pigments with a clear top coat both of which were sprayed on during the finishing process. The pigments had superior UV resistance to dyes and the clear coat improves wear performance. The only dyes used are applied during the tanning process in vats. You are removing the clear coat and the pigments applied by the tannery which explains why the cloth is gray.
I'm not surprised by your comment, I thought that was pigment, too. Thank you. What do you think of this product?
Why is everyone complaining about the length it's an awesome and very informative video. Those short videos rarely show good results when doing it yourself
FINALLY! A helpful video on how to effectively STRIP the leather down. I searched for 3 days. Thank you SO MUCH!
You are a great pitchman. Most people cannot speak when doing a demonstration.
Very honest vid..not like others that put the fix in new cars that don't even need it..i for one appreciate the full coverage of the subject and detailed instruction..
I knew there had to be a way to get rid of that cob web look on my car seats, and I just learned a mountain of information from you. I enjoyed your video immensely, and will be purchasing the products. I can't wait to get started. Thank you for being so thorough on every step, with magnificent end results. Much appreciation!
You sir are a craftsman! Your video work on this product is fantastic because it leaves little doubt about the effectiveness of the product you are presenting while providing plenty of information to inform teach shmucks like me who dont know everything! Thank You!
I feel asleep and woke up and the video was still going.
IGNORE THE CRITICS YOU DID AN AWESOME
JOB ON THOSE SEATS
pora radi that’s terrible advice. Why ignore critique. It’s an essential part of improvement.
No he shouldn’t ignore. Those comments are from potential customers.
I was going to mention that to Max too.
Great job and obviously great guy. But I was hitting the fast forward button a million times. I’m afraid I missed something (I’m ordering the product) and wished the instructional video was short enough not to have to FF all the time.
@@petermabbort456 Well if you skip any of the steps or don't prep the seats properly your results will be SH*T...If you're serious about restoring old seats and don't have the patience to watch the video, I have doubts that you'll pull off a nice restoration lol...
Amazing work and great video for guys like me that actually PREFER to listen to guys that know all the tricks. I could actually listen to you for hours more. Thanks for your knowledge Sir
WOW. He brought that seat back to life.
I think it's fantastic that you said fantastic so many fantastic times.FANTASTIC! lol
You are the Bob Ross of leatherdyeing.
Definitely going to try your kit, seems like you know what you’re talking about. For something like restoring leather seats a good explanation can never hurt to prevent damage and make sure you’re doing things right.
Thank you very much for the video, I think I definitely have an opportunity to solve a long lasting problem I been having with car seats specially
Double thank you,
Very thorough and helpful training video!!! Some people want fast forward, how the hell you gonna learn all the crucial steps! Great job, thanks for sharing!!
I appreciate you going into some detail as to causality and root causes of material deterioration. I see the intro as inadvertent cautions. Well done and an absolute Thumbs Up!!
Very good video and explantions all through the process. No music disturbance and with relaxed normal voice without the annoyng enhanced speed doping.
Keep up the good work!
This is beautiful! I have 20 year old Lincoln Mark Viii leather seats. I just found my next project!
I don't have any leather, but the presentation was done so well I watched the whole thing. To the people complaining I say : Make your own video.
WILL definitely use your products in the near future. Had a detail shop in the 80's wish I would have done seat repair in those days but it is never to late to start over and expand.
Great video, very thorough perfect for DIYers like me! I can't wait to use this product!
Is there a easy way to determine if your seats are real leather? Alternatively - can you use your products on leatherette? By the way - I loved the level of detail shared by our host - - too often posters skip or oversimplify. Also it makes this feel less like an infomercial and more like your buddy sharing his tips. Thanks
Very very professional Video. Easy to follow and understand
Thanks for the video. Watching you work over the extended period of time shows that you know what you are doing and that your product seems to work. Will get some for my Volvo for sure :)
I just watched at 2x speed, looks amazing saved 45 mins!
Terrific video. Great job with your demonstration. The availability of custom color matching sold me. Can't wait to get started.
Fantastic video!!!! Thank you for so much detail (and enthusiasm!). This is really going to help a job I need to do.
"Automotive Leather Restoration" The Movie. Only in Cinemas.
lololol My thoughts exactly when I saw over an hour and 27 minutes...wtf! Definitely could have shortened this video by an hour...at least!
Over 2 hours with ads, unwatchable!
Agreed to long
Thanks for the detailed explanation. Is anything different when applying to black leather ?the bonded kind that has a shiny smooth coat.
How to replace wiper moter
Very good DIY instructional how to video, appreciate how you went through all the steps from start to finish. For someone that needs their seats done, this is the best way to do it,thanks for the info..I have a Audi with black interior and noticed the bottoms of the seats has the light cracking, so I'll be ordering the stuff from you in the near future..
I'm in shock. Knowing that my leather chairs never have to ever look bad. I cleaned a used recliner I just bought. Not like you suggested. However, I figured out that leather is tough.
However, now I know the right way.
Thanks so much.
Thanks. Great detail.
Fantastic & informative video. Thank You
i thought this was a gimmick at first and never thought i would do this, actually im in the market for replacing my leather seats that arent even as bad as these. The video was so impressive im going to order myself a kit. awesome video!
How did it work for you? What kinda car do you have?
DUDE! So many words. Just show me. Your product seems to speak for itself.
Nice to see Steven Segal doing his day job
Awesome job!! After the lacquer thinner you could have pretty much called the job done! Now to do my car!! Thank you for this video.
amazing job. i wish I knew about your products years ago. those before seats looked like the seats in my van and i could have made them look great again :(
Excelent video
That is incredible how great that turned out. Good job.
I've got to hand it to you, you love to talk. Great video and very informative but I had to watch it at 1.5 speed LOL. Super detailed. Good job.
Super informative and great video, that surely needs to be long. No short cuts here. Well done. Kind regards.
Glad you liked it!
Just the cleaning itself was amazing
I actually like that he didn't skip and edit with this. 3 coats of dye. Twice with the filler. Gave a real world example and you can spped up the video to 1 1/4 speed anyway. Those seats were bad.
this is a very detailed step by step video. Amazing results with amazing products. Thankyou very much good job.
... its gonna look fantastic. I would pay to see you on a trade show man. Good job.
brilliant video .very informative, thanks.
Love that two-tone sub man 👑
And the raiders
So glad I stayed for the whole video! Please update to a HD recorder so I can appreciate the details of the surfaces
I watched this because it is incredibly interesting. I don't have a leather interior in my car or leather furnature in my house. It's great for future need information. Thanks.
After 20 minutes I decided to buy a new car, but good job nonetheless.
You kidding !
Right! Lol 😂
Nice job! ...Thank you for the video.
Awesome video, amazing product!! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this video and explain everything in detail of do's & don't's and telling why you do it the way you do!
I learned a lot and will be using your product as well as applying methods on my car seats, leather couch & chairs, and I believe I'm going to give it a shot on some of my old saddles & tack!!
Thank you so much!!
This is great. need a vinyl guy like you.
Thanks for some real interesting footage. You'l be hearing from me soon !!!!
Wow great video I seen many leather seats like this that why I never wanted leather the cracks wear etc . I would had thought new seat or seat cover , I have a 2013 Chevy with heated leather seats and learned alot here thanks for posting and for watching your whole video I definitely will buy your cleaning and protection kit instead of the auto parts store clean and shine in one step oily stuff .....
great work!
Very good video, I may have to try this even though my leather is new.
Omg this is future in that little bottle. Damn amazing
Great video, just what i needed in order to do mine, cheers ;)
Great video man good job
Thank you for this video
Great video! I'm grateful that you took the time to make such a long and in depth video. It was like watching Bob Ross go over all of his techniques on a leather canvas.
Yea I fell to sleep woke up he still damn talking I went ahead and watch another one from someone else
You can tell when their product is high and when someone trying to sale you something. TF
Awesome job
Great video, thanks!! What about perforated leather?
I wish when guys made these sort of videos, they would use light colored seats instead of these dark ones that make it hard to actually see how dirty the seas are and how clean they got them.
great video , so how do i fix uneven color spots ? i apply around 4 coats already and still getting some spots with a lighter color than the rest of the seat :/ also on one spot you can see streak of paint.
A wee tip when using the rubbing alcohol use a spray bottle works wonders even with solvent thinners
Amazing job
Thanks for great video
Fantastic instruction
To be fair it looks like a really good job! My only criticism is that I prefer the darker gray/ash, if we could achieve a dark gray without the wear then that in my eye would be fantastic!
Good job!
1. awesome job. 2. you're hilarious with your side comments. "I've been breather lacquer thinner for a while"
Appears to be a decent product, especially the filler which fills in those ugly cracks. Nice job.
FANTASTIC loved this vid you made it look so easy i agree it is little repetitive but you explained every step perfectly i would love to maybe start my own leather restoration service in my auto shop if i can get those results it could be very lucrative i will only use your products of course can you ship to UK?
on my 2001 f250 the seats are heated and have holes/pores in the seats to allow the heat to come through, will this dye block the holes or damage any of the internals of the seat. thanks for the video
This video did NOT need to be an hour and a half long!!! omg man
The best video about fix leather !
I love it !
Since MÉXICO !

impressive result
Interested in getting for my bmw 750li. I have flannel grey leather, and the color you have looks really close. But....i have completely perforated leather throughout. How much for difficult or complex would the application process be? Thank you. Loved the video. Watched entire clip and received lots of great tips and advise. Ones who didn't watch or complain just think they can do it better on just a short 10 min clip, smh. Real quality job in luxury cars demand attention to detail... thanks again. A++
Patrick leroi
Very nice
What if the car seat has a rip in it? Can you make a video showing how you would go about restoring it or repairing it.
Thanks for the detailed video. You don't say what the filler is made of? I would be interested to know, and can we get this system in the UK?
I will definitely buy your product ..I have a nissan murano 2007 with tan color seats but I'm not sure wich tone of color exactly is, A B or C?
Does the dye work on vinyl when wanting to change the color to match the dyed leather parts of the car seat ?
wow excellent finish does it work on Vinyl seats?
Can you change the shade of the seats a couple of shades with this system?
why can't you formulate this dye to color the Filler? This way the filler will have full color.
Hi, can you mix the dye with the filler so that the filler is the same colour as the seat?
Thank you for explaining why you're doing each step not just blowing through the steps. I've been trying to decide if I wanted to DIY it and have watched probably 10 hours of videos and not until watching yours did i feel like I understood the process enough to tackle it by myself . . I purchased other products to use for when I felt confident enough to start, but they're going in the trash, I'll wait for yours to arrive. Thanks again for turning what was utter fear into total excitement for the project! We got this!
Nice watch.
