Be careful with the magnetic mount. If you feel the magnet pushing you away, ie you've got the 780 or the mount upside down, back off as soon as you can. It is possible to flip the magnet inside the mount and it ain't easy to get the mount open to fix.
I recently formatted (Accidentally) main drive of my garmin 396. So its not start. freeze at the beginning garmin logo. sure i deleted every file on it, thats normal :(. but is there solution to recover or reinstall the firmware?
so i don’t understand how it’s working. does it always need to be connected to wifi in order to operate? or do i need to connect cellular network separately for it? or do I not need anything and just connect it to my phone that has cellular network. pls help
You don't have to connect your at all, the unit will work independently for driving navigation. The only reason you need to connect your phone is to get extra features such as Live Traffic Condition Update, Road Closures Update, Weather Condition Update etc.
The Garmin Dezl 580LMT-S uses two different types of screens depending on the revision of the unit, and they are not interchangeable. So to be 100 sure you need to take it apart and search for the screen part number. Here is an example of one of the two kinds www.ebay.com/itm/255451324511

Hi, they make several versions of the same model and the software interfaces are slightly different. Sometimes even the hardware inside aren't the same. The goes back decades when Garmin introduced Nuvi 200 there are nearly 5 different versions with completely different main boards, screens and software.
Since there are some destinations that can't be reached without crossing Railroads they didn't put that as an option. But you can create your own custom avoidance and include each Railroad that you don't like in the black list.
100% Useless as I have NO cell phone,(according to you- are you SURE?) but boy, I sure do own one of these , and ALL it does is tell me to Turn Around, until I turn it off. Guess I will buy another 6 incher as they always worked, no hassles.
Very helpful. They need to put things like this, in a instruction packet. Some of us aren't tech savvy. 😒

Hi, connect your Garmin to your computer, download and run Garmin Webupdater.exe install all the necessary files again.

Hi, you can use Garmin Web Updater to install any update including voices and vehicles. If that doesn't work for you then try using Garmin Express.

You might have a defective unit, because it is not supposed to keep saying "Turn Around"
