- Today we do some paint correction on the E90 sport bumper lip using a 3 step process: wet sanding, compounding, and polishing. The transformation of the paint was absolutely astounding! It took about 2-3 hours in total, but trust me it was well worth the time and effort.

Just a hint if you're just starting out working in body shops..Don't let anyone know that you're really good at wet sanding cars. You'll become the dedicated wet sander forever. 😅

Yes... we used a bit of cutting compound before polishing!

Looks like you still had orange peel at the end...not too bad but it would probably have been better to do a 1200 grit pass with sanding before the 2000 grit...still a good job though.

sorry mate but that looks terrible you have Orange peel in the base coat so no amount of wet sanding will sort that.

That's not true... I sprayed a very thick clear coat and the clear coat can be leveled.
you can see the Orange peel in the black base coat on your first video and you can clearly see the Orange peel in the base coat once you levelled down the clear coat, look at the reflection it may be shiny but there is no depth to the reflection.
5.19 in the video shows this perfectly
at 6.36 it looks terrible

Hey man I don’t know if you’ll respond to this in time but after I’m done painting my front lip. Should I clear coat it first then wet sand or wet sand the paint, compound polish then clear coat ? Thanks in advance 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Keep up the good work, just gained a new sub 😎
Hey! Sorry for the delayed response. I would recommend very lightly sanding the primer and paint with a scotch brite pad, then wait to wet send and compound polish after clear coating. I hope all went well!

Another sick vid bro! Do you have a instagram bro? And quick question, what is the difference between compound and polish?
I don't have an instagram for the car yet... should I make one?? Compound is used to essentially make tiny cuts in the paint to remove scratches... polish basically does the same thing but down to even more detail which makes the paint appear very shiny.
