- Today we finally install the front sport lip on the BMW E90. This was an incredibly low cost cosmetic upgrade...which admittedly did take a lot of work, but man was it worth it!! I absolutely love the way this front lip looks. It is a pretty straight forward installation, using 3M molding tape. Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe!

How did you go about removing the lip or front bumper/splash guards? It looks like the bottom of the new lip covers the bolts that are used to remove the front undercover in your video.
I didn't have to remove anything.. it all fit without modification.

Cool video. I am looking to add this lip to my 2010 E92. One thing I noticed is that on the top it doesn't look like it sits as flush as I had hoped. Is it better in person? Is there any gap at all?

Please tell me how you are ever going to remove the existing bumper ever again since you just covered up the bolts and drilled screws into it, and removing the 3M tape will be fun.

Are your halos visible in the daytime? I bought the spec d tuning headlights but they are different than yours and my halos aren't bright at all
Yes, they are very bright.
What brand did you go with for your halos?
Also, did you get your car coded to run just halos for daytime running lights?

Did you have any problems with the lip protruding out a bit? It looked like it did slightly for the 2 sections in between the bottom center grille (Not bashing you at all your car is sick, I'm genuinely curious to try this on my LCI 328i)

Hahahaha I hope to get to that point someday...its a lot of work. It takes about 2-4hrs to film a video and then another 3-4hrs to edit the video! But that is definitely a goal to upload much more in the future. Thanks man!

Ever notice how if the car is anything less than an M3 or 335i that people use the name E9X instead of the actual model # like 330i or 328i ..why is that?
Because E9X applies to all models and reaches a wider audience than just one specific model.

so sick, i've been looking to get one of these as my first car and i found a clean black 07 3 series just like yours for 5k

Drive it (try and drive as long as you can on the test drive) and make sure you know it's in good shape. I found an '06 330i 6mt for like 6 grand and was excited but when I drove it I quickly realized why they only wanted 6 grand for it. Ended up paying 9 grand out the door for my '08 328i 6mt and it has like 115k on it but the interior is absolutely flawless save for a single blemish on the driver seat bolster.
Not saying they can't be cheap, but if it seems like a super amazing deal be super careful
Corbin Haynes hows it keeping up? I plan on buying a 328i coupe next month with 80k miles on it.
Either make sure it's had the cooling system replaced, or be well prepared to drop a grand or more on that at a specialty shop or dealership. That's honestly the only major problem I've had. I love it, it's not super fast but it's definitely quick (quicker than most cars on the street, my sedan beats my roommate's 2012 Civic SI coupe). They handle great too, and these cars have aged so well. Not super space age on the inside but undoubtedly comfortable and classy.
My only huge con with the E9x chassis is the lack of aftermarket compared to like the 350z, BRZ, etc. Not a lot to do, but there's still a lot of spoilers, rims, lips, headlights, exhaust and stuff out for it.
If you got more questions feel free to ask! Living with it daily (again I have a 328i sedan 6 speed manual) it's fairly easy and fun to drive, super comfortable, however I only get about 25 mpg average at the very most and you have to use premium (can use mid if there's nothing else). The manuals can be a little notchy and sloppy, especially when the transmission is still cold.
Like I said I'll shut up now lol but ask any questions you have, if you wanna know my few mods or anything

I can't say for sure, but I would assume yes.
Because 2006 is exactly same as 2005, there is no update so I'm gonna try it :-)
We have the same car. Is your bumper and hood rock chipped up? Towards the end I can see some chips I have the same problem. I'm scared to add anything on the front causing too much contrast with the paint chips.
Yeah my hood and bumper have some rock chips... but it's not too bad
If you have a decent bit of experience painting you could always try to fade the paint if you get a new bumper for example. As in, if your bumper is lighter in color than the lower lip you get, you could slowly create a gradient kind of fade using whatever you use to paint the new part to fade it smoothly. You'd be able to tell a difference if you were looking for it, but otherwise instead of having a sharp line where the color immediately is different, it wouldn't really catch the eye.

Hey JD I must say your car is looking amazing every video. Idk if you remember me but i had told you that I'm thinking of buying a 328i myself and the day has come I'm going in a couple of hours to test drive a Lehmans blue 328Xi for 10K with 70k miles it has the SULEV N51 engine which comes with a 15yr/150k mile warranty on emission related parts. I'm definitely doing a ppi before though. Is there anything that's a given red flag if I open the hood or test drive?

If it has a lot of wear,it probably means that is not actual mileage.
Just rent OBD2 tool or lend one from friend.
My e39 has around 270.000 km,but it displayed only 124.000 km.
I have no idea how do they do it.
Check lights.
Are they fogged or is there water in?
That will run you 90-150e(x2) depending on year.
Check keys,a new key for my e39 costed 150€ because the batteries were dead and you had to lock/unlock it manualy.
Check for rust.
Also bring digital calipers,and check clearances between panels.
Any odds,like not matching other side or something like that,means that panel has been changed,which probably means car has been crashed.
Also check if that is cars original color.
Check oil.
Pull seatbelt to check if it has been in a flood.
Use common sense and you wont get ripped off.
CME thanks a lot for your tips I couldn't go today because it actually started raining and I didn't think I'll be able to properly examine the car cause of the heavy rain, etc. but nonetheless I'll keep these tips for when i go next weekend.
TheDeDecker yeah i was Lol until i had to postpone the test drive and the PPI due to heavy rain and thunderstorms.
Definitely get a PPI and carefully check everything over. Also don't let them beat you up price wise...find a couple things (even small things like scratches or nicks) and try to negotiate the price down.

Love your videos but get rid of the M stripes... It's so cheesy when non M cars do this. It's not even a 335i let alone an M. Be proud of what you got even if it's not an M, don't try n give the impression of something it's not. Juts my opinion
Funny that you commented that! I actually took the M stripes off a few days ago... it will be in an upcoming video.
The stripes represent bmw motorsport, in itself and are BMW's colors for the brand. Any bmw can represent the colors. Moreover, in most series there are M package vehicles. These are not and M3 M4, etc. Yet they deserve stripes as they were built to race and tested on a track before being sold. Don't be a hater and enjoy BMW's, respect taste.
completely agreed. An M badge, hood, or vents is one thing and i completely disagree with that. But the colors are not the same and they represent something different.

To me,it looks like you are transforming your car to M version,which is kinda cheap-ish.
Anyway,the car looks stealth and clean so remove those for the sake of God.

this looks nothing like an m3! All he did was add a front lip on the base bumper and has a grill with m colors. For god sakes they're colors. Now if he puts m badges on it... then you can give him hell, but to the normal person its just a colorful grill! I do agree though, i dig his setup

Levi, stop drinking paint, it's really messing with your head. My e90 330d is faster than a E36 M3, has better suspension, better brakes, better tires.. Why do you think that E36 deserves those stripes more than my 330d? Because it came from factory? Dude, M3s are for people who have no idea what they are doing, who buy cars and keep them the way they are. enthusiasts deserve to shine, we buy cars not made for racing and we change them until they are exactly what we want - And if we want to M-Tag them, its our fucking business.
Personally I don't have those stripes because I have a chrome grill and a different chassis body for a sleeper look - But I would never approach another BMW owner and tell him he should remove his stripes, M-Logos or whatever. I would appreciate and admire their car as I admire mine. If you can't appreciate BMWs and their individual looks, gtfo.
