there's some kind of hard to grasp nobility in watching your fingers wrestle those strings into perfect vibrato and hearing you speak so intelligently about this guitarist and his music it just makes we wanna grab a beer with you and play a tune together...you Sir are an old school gentleman
Fantastic playing and tone, outstanding! It’s not easy to get the bending and emotion of Gary’s songs right. A lot of guys can shred, but with Gary, the song always came first.
This is an unexpected treat. Christmas early this year, perhaps? Your cover is stellar. I have always thought Gary Moore's vibrato was top gun. In fact, I think it's better than BB King & Clapton. Gawd that guy could milk a note. Such a shame we have lost him. Nevertheless--Bravo!
Well, as always it is subjective which vibrato or tone you prefer, so I do not really like the term "better". However, I share the same opinion, Gary's vibrato is just so instantly recognizable and so aggressive. Definitely the tone I was aiming for ever since I picked up the guitar.
Superb breakdown of a classic track. Thanks so much. I saw Moore play live a few times, and noticed that he often had a cabinet in the wings stage right at 90 degrees across his position. He managed the feedback sustain brilliantly by opening his body and obviously the pickups towards that cab. Master at work.
What a loss to the world when he died. Gary Moore was one hell of a guitarist. Great job, Andy, and thanks for bringing us this beautiful work of art. Merry Christmas!🎄
Anytime I happen across anything that vaguely reminds me that Gary was here gives me pause to give it a listen. started with Lizzy, went on to his heavy rock albums then to his blues period, bought them all, burnt the grooves off and rebought... Never thought he'd be gone so soon.....thanks for keeping his spirit alive with your teachings. Love to see your transcription of still in love with you solo. Was it Brian or Gary or Scott? Brian does'nt get near enough credit for his work with TL....greatest rockers of the era!
Andy! I never heard this song before until I heard it on your "24/7 Demo Reel", & I should have: I was in my mid-20s when the album debuted Sept. 30, '78. Thanks for broadening my horizons as a listener & a player - you're a phenomenal musician & teacher too!!! Kind regards!
Hope everythings ok with you man.....not prying . just Havent seen you post lately.....thats our loss tho..really apreciate everything you gave us Peace n love.
Yet another brilliant video. You really get everything right. The tone, the voicing, the vibrato and the bends. I really love this tune. You can really hear the influence of Roy Buchanan. Speaking of which, have you done a lesson on "The Messiah Will Come Again"?
Is it Parisienne Blues or Still Got The Walkways? 😜 I jest of course. Being from Northern Ireland I am tremendously proud that such a great player came from here.
OHH Man, made my day when I saw you did Gary Moore again!! My all time, no debate favorite guitarist and you did him justice here, Thank you! Any chance you could do a solo lesson for "Still got the Blues"? Best solo I've ever heard. RIP Gary you are missed!!
Where to start! Always love the production on these lessons - the attention to detail regarding reverb etc. Superb. Then, ofcourse there's the rendition. I've commented on your playing before and I make no apologies for sounding obsequious but the blend of technical detail and feeling truly humbles me as nothing more than an average Joe guitarist. It's so good that guys like yourself can now be heard. Finally, as someone born and raised in Belfast it is absolutely incredible that Gary's music lives on long after his death. Thanks for this stunning cover and lesson and I wish your channel and career every success.
Mervyn Patterson I concur entirely. But one further point, UA-cam tutorials allow us average Joe guitarists to really understand and appreciate just how good these guitar hero’s of ours were when they were creating this stuff for the first time out of nothing. We try to mimic them but they were/are on another level entirely. This site is probably the most authentic I’ve found.
@@petea1uk Totally agree Pete - these tutorials are on another level and come as close as you'll find to re-creating the sound and atmosphere of the original recordings. Perfect tutorials for those of us who simply just try to play them as faithfully as possible.
Hey Andy, think about it,,,, his discordant hitting the low E is analogues to "taking a breath". Kinda like his "physical" expression and connection with his guitar.
This is compulsory if you have a LP and a Marshall. Gary Moore, a very underrated Guitarist because he did some Cheesy Metal, another fantastic Master Class thanks.
This has been up for a while, but I just stumbled onto it. Thanks you sir, great lesson! Your tone and vibrato are awesome, I’m jealous. Btw, love your playing!
I mean no disrespect but I can't imagine what level or lack of intelligence beyond sour grapes could bring 25 thumbs down - I come from this era so of course I like the genre but the performance is perfection ~ Thank you and sad to waste space on your page on negativity born of someone's envy - L&R , J
I cant say enough about how incredible your tone is here. Not to mention a perfect interpretation of a masterpiece. Just beautiful .
You Sir are brutally under-appreciated on youtube...
Outstanding videos again and again and again....
Best teacher and performer around!
First time I've ever seen the classic flash run down played and taught correctly, forever in your debt ,George from Scotland.
Andy! Love your style of teaching, thank The Lord for people like you!
It amazes me how much that lead sounds like the melody of “Blue Bossa.”
Phil and Gary based P W on Blue Bossa.
Any Gary Moore lesson, is a great Lesson! Thanks, bud! Really appreciate the great lessons!
Blistering solo. Never get bored of hearing someone nail this 💪💪💪
Perhaps the best lesson on the most awesome tune Gary Moore ever played. This lesson was without a doubt the best I have ever heard.
there's some kind of hard to grasp nobility in watching your fingers wrestle those strings into perfect vibrato and hearing you speak so intelligently about this guitarist and his music it just makes we wanna grab a beer with you and play a tune together...you Sir are an old school gentleman
Best instructional videos on youtube! Straight to the point and SUPER accurate! Thank you.

charles simpson they are all fantastic and are legends that why there’s a show together
Man I loved how you play that. Loved Gary Moore and Thin Lizzy.
Superb breakdown of a classic track. Thanks so much. I saw Moore play live a few times, and noticed that he often had a cabinet in the wings stage right at 90 degrees across his position. Merry Christmas!🎄
GM was a musical poet genius. He told stories with the notes of his melody solos. Incredible master.
Good job on the lesson, sir.

Thanks for showing me how to play this outstanding song by Gary Moore. Thank god he left us with such good guitar playing.
Epic video for an epic song.

Simply the best instruction on UA-cam, and that's saying something!
This tune is soooooo epic, bloomin quality.
Oh boy. Man you can make the guitar sing like an angel. Fantastic 👍

Set Ter not really...I think Europa is ripped from since I’ve been loving you
