    Great lesson video, thanks for making this video!
    I’m so glad that I was able to get to see Gary Moore in concert on the Run for Cover tour 🎉.
    Rest In Peace Gary, he was one of a kind 😢

    Gary was / is my favourite guitar player. I was fortunate to see him play once with Thin Lizzy, back in 1978 i think it was, at the old Hammersmith Odeon (which was a great old venue). His solo album 'Back on the Streets' came out around a similar time from memory.
    Gary had the best tone and played really lyrically. I rate him as the best blues player I've ever heard, and I've heard / seen a lot of the greats over the years. Gary was very special. He felt the notes he played, like no other player I've known.
    Thanks for the demo and lesson Sped. You got really good tone playing this. Gary would be quite happy with your rendition. Cheers from NZ, Grant. 👍

      Thank you Grant! I’m glad you got to see him live. And yeah, he really does feel each and every note. An absolute magician on the fretboard. ❤️

    I have the pleasure of watching Gary Moore performing live "Parisienne Walkways" with his band G-Force opening for Whitesnake in London way back. The sustain for the opening note was insane!

      Yeah and he sometimes did the one in the middle for about a minute right? Praying for that feedback every night! 💪🏻😏

      I read/heard somewhere that he would work out on stage during sound check where he could get that note and then mark it to make sure he got it… not sure how true that is but kind of makes sense in my mind.

    I've been playing acoustic cowboy chords for years and have just gotten serious about electric guitar lead and improv. I discovered Parisienne Walkways and looked at many tabs and lessons that just weren't quite right. Your lesson is perfect. Love the results. Thank you for all the work you put into it. Absolutely brilliant run down of Parisienne Walkways I used to love playing this (for my own amusement) but that was 5 or so years ago. Just picked the guitar back up and this is next on my list on solos to play again. I know I am 60 I don’t care.

    Brilliant, love Gary Moore and this was so beautifully done. I only be learning short time and its dailing in different tones that I struggle.
    From my point of view I wish there was some description on how to dail in the tone on the lessons that are posted.
    I think it would attract a lot of subscribers the first one to go into detail about the tone on the riff they are learning, there is so little of it on UA-cam.
    This is the best lesson I have seen on this riff, Many thanks

    It was very early in '78, as a young 18 year old blown away after listening to 'Since I've Been Lovin' You', the decision was made to play the guitar. Little did I realise, that for me anyway, what an exceptionally difficult exercise that was. Blighted by being left handed, decent guitars that fitted the needs were non existent. I remember taking my cheap, catalogue Les Paul, turned upside down of course, to a guitar teacher. He being a big Gary Moore fan, me being a devoted Zep fan; argued who was the better guitarist, neither would or could see the others point of view. Now, decades later, and having recently relearnt, due to injury, to play right handed, I can honestly say that Gary Moore touches my soul and Jimmy Page makes me feel young again. Having seen them both though, I am more in awe of Moore.

    • @SpedSpedding
      @SpedSpedding  2 роки тому

      That's the beauty of them and millions of other talented musicians. They touched our souls so much that we felt the responsibility to argue their worth and talent amongst ourselves. The reality is: they were all incredibly talented in their own right and should never be pitted against each other. Neither Moore or Page would wager their abilities. They bring something totally unique to the table and I love them both.

    Hi Sped, I just wanted to say how much I like your playing and your channel, especially the Jimmy Page stuff. I used to try and play when I was younger, but I gave up because it was too hard and I don't have a guitar nowadays. There was no youtube when I was trying to learn so it was almost impossible to get things right, but oh well... Anyway, thanks again for the great videos... and thank you for the music... ;-)

    There are several comments here about Gary's vibrato... I read a few years ago that he was actually left-handed. Some people think his vibrato was so amazing because he was fretting with his dominant hand. I can't imagine how tough it would be to learn to pick accurately with the non-dominant hand though!

    • @SpedSpedding
      @SpedSpedding  2 роки тому

      If that’s true it would explain a lot. Very cool! My partner is left handed and I’m teaching her. No point her not having access to all my gear so she’s learning right handed and she’s great. Strong left hand helps with chords for sure. 💪🏻
