I love all steam locomotives but have a special fondness for steam switchers...don't know why. This one is a beauty!! Great video ...Thank you for the post.
Just an awesome sight. Another steamer back riding the rails. And such a beautiful locomotive and the paint really sets it off. Great video and thanks fir sharing.
I was on one of the last crews to work with Baldwin 26 back in 1999, as she was used on the "Polar Express', with Bill Hutchinson and one of the younger firemen (who went over to D&L as a dispatcher). She was so tired that she could barely keep the air brakes functioning on 4 coaches back then..... She is a very close sister to the EBT locomotive in Mount Union's enginehouse.
I'm 16 now and in 2018 I'm going to apply there (i contacted them and they said I had to be 18 to work there) so I need some pointers on what I need to do in order to drive the engines safely and effectively. Thanks :D
at 1:02, I can see CN #3254, if that enhine were a person, I feel that it wouod be jealous that it's getting replaced by BLW #26, B&M #3713, and CP #2317...there are times when I can only feel bad for the 3254. But hey atleast steamtown has some steam again!
+RichardAndewSwayne The 26 was built for and by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for use as the plant switcher, moving pieces of equipment in and out of the shops as needed. That is why it is lettered for Baldwin.
+engineer6325 Pretty much, too many issues and other engines have priority such as 3713 & 2317. So if 3254 ever does return to service it wont be in our lifetime. She will most likely get painted and put on static display.
3254 was not best suited for running tender first, which most of Steamtown's operations require. Her all weather cab and high CN Bunker Tender make rear view quite poor. That is just another reason besides the mechanical aspect.
It's always a great day when another steam engine is brought back to life. Congratulations to all the team!

The olive drab paint is nice.
I remember hearing it in the newspaper
BLW #26 makes her debut at Steamtown.
always good to see a freshly overhauled machine working according to the intended deseign TRAIN PORN! (giggity)
She definitely put a smile on many of faces.
Well done! Congratulations!!!!!
thank you
JP Videos np, keep up the great work
what happened to the beautiful whistle she was wearing before she went down?
I'm so happy to see steam return to steamtown! Did steamtown ever say when #26 will enter regular service again with the Scranton limited?

Any steam at Steamtown is a positive thing to me.
Would Numbers 3254 and 2317 get steamed again.
It's always great to see a steam locomotive steam again. What kind of whistle is on 26? Its great!
Not sure of the exact specific name or type of whistle but i agree, it sounds great.
+Ponz67 Baldwin Single Chime whistle, the exact same type 26 had when rolled out of the Baldwin Locomotive Works.
+SierraRailway Thank you!
I like it it sounds so industrial and hard working!
May I use BLW 26's whistle audio in this video for Trainz?
Sure
JPVideos Thanks!
Ladies and gentlemen...#26! 🚂
such a beautiful engine imma c her tm!
She's a beaut
Baldwin #26 will make a great doubleheader with CNJ #113!!!!!
brian falzon with Reading and Northern 425 included!
That'll be awesome!
I'm posting a video of this locomotive and more on my channel!
Was she designed specifically by the BLW or was she based on a class of Locomotive that the BLW were build for one of their customer railroads?

I know that. What I was asking if her design was based on a customer railroad locomotive, or was she designed by BLW to fill their needs.
I preferred her old whistle
I wonder if Dwight and Toby made it down, they're big rail fans.
Well that's one engine done. Now all we need is 3254 and 2317
3254 is permanently out of commission, 3713 is next in line then 2317.
+JP Videos Why is 3254 permanently out? Too costly to repair?

weren’t you verified? what happened?
