Thank you so much for the videos, I have a question if you have the time to respond. Is there a requirement for how long I have to have my hood? Please and thank you for any help.
Hello again, im looking for that vent that goes inside and im not able to find it. Any key words that can help me find that piece? Thanks I really appreciate your videos
There's probably a video of it out there but to answer the question in text. You take one of the wires from the switch hook it up to the power wire the other one is the wire that goes to the hood. The 2 white wires get connected together by themselves and buried in the box. And that's it :)
That piece that come in from inside through the hood and outside to roof can it be dead center or it has to be off to the right like yours or it all depends on how it falls once you have the hood up. Please help?
Right! But as far as the duck on top where you had to cut the 1" lip can it be right center so its easier to cut and yes as long its withting the bay stud
@@miguelavila2219 on the flat part on top I'm assuming you mean. Well if you get the back that is on an angle they call it chamfer back then there is no extra space on where to cut
I believe I’m not explaining my self my apologies! I was talking about the flat piece of square that hood mart sends that covers the top where the fan rests on, yours was to the right bottom a little where you had to cut it, I was thinking it can be center so the cut it’s easier can I do that. 5:47 to 7:27 on video; thanks for the response your awesome and thanks for the help
I should get something together for everyone, a few people have asked this. Let me work on that. Anything specific you need now that I can point you in the right direction?
Hi Frank, thanks for the videos. I have a sloped roof in my shuttle bus so I think I need the same hood. I have checked hoodmarts site and can't find one with the angled cut out on the back. Was this a special order or do you have the model #?

Thank you for filming this. Usually I'm using the 6Amp variable speed controller which seems to work fine(do you recommend something else)? Hooking together two exhaust fans to one controller... should I use a 10amp speed controller switch instead of 6amp? Thank you in advance
Hi Frank, I really like the content you upload. I have a question. Can I power my fridge 12volt to the battery where my converter is so I don't drain the trucks battery? What do you recommend on this? Please help. Thank you
Currently building a food truck. Your videos have been a big help. Thank! Quick question: Why did you place the duct under the corner of fan opposed to centering it?
The stud layout of the trailer only gave me a few options had to go where it allowed me to. Find of like a house have to find where it fits without damaging structure
Hey Frank did you put the ansel system in yourself or did you havento hire someone? Can you put links to the hood & exaust so i can purchase them sir. Thanks!!!! You're a life saver man
Appreciate the comment 👍👍 thank you. The ansul system no, had a company install it because it has to be certified called 3 companies and had it installed for $2,500
@@15surgess great question. 2 answers for you. 1: you still have to have someone come out to certify the system and that will be an extra expense 2: the nozzles for ansul depend on your equipment and I had no idea what I was going to Install when I purchased. Hopefully that helps
Frank, I didn't see any questions or answers pertaining to fire code requirements. My understanding is that most building / fire / health authorities require hood installation to follow NFPA guidelines of not being within 18" of combustible material or reducing it to 3" with an approved method. I see a lot of plywood and wood rafters where the vent was installed. How did you meet the clearance requirements to meet code? Also, these videos are amazing and perfect for novice food truck builders. Great work!
Good morning. No codes like those exist for us here in food trucks, in brick and mortar possibly but they don't cross over to mobile vendors in our county. Appreciate the feedback:)

Hey , whats the name of this metal part that you put in the hole on the roof . Between hood exhause ???

Hi bro can you used a house hood ventilation or must be commercial grade ?
I have found that usually the HD requires it to be NSF Rated or something to that type of certification

It all comes as a kit from hoodmart. Don't know if you can find it separately

They are all sold as a complete kit from Hoodmart 👍
Do you have a link for that exact hood? The ones I find have the 90 in the back and not the 45
You have to call in and request the 45 degree it's not available online

I would only use Lap Sealant on the roof, never silicone.
Haven't had any issues yet, but if it does start leaking will use that type of sealant. Appreciate that tip 👍
