Here's a little update: This morning I logged in and the vulture was still in my personal hanger, I did have to shoot the back door open because it was locked, I didn't unlock it yesterday.
I tried the same kind of idea with a Caterpillar yesterday. Was thinking that the NPC manned turrets would do well for ERTs if upgraded to Deadbolt 4s. I stole the ship, got it to my personal hangar on Orison, upgraded the guns, then relogged and it was gone. Oh, and "liberated" Hammerheads don't work on Orsion, as they give you a docking port and not your personal hangar. Found that one out the hard way. 😂
They should add a chop shop where you can take stolen ships and either sell them or buy paperwork for them. Imagine if you could steal say a Cutty black, take it to the chop shop, make it yours with 6 months insurance for like 250K. Normally a Cutty Black is like 2 mil in game right now, I think. Of course, they shouldn't add anything until they fix the never ending bugs. Just stockpiling Eggs, widow, and Slam at Hex right now because I can't sell them anywhere.
they should let you do that with stolen ships, and to make it even more hard to keep them make it so you cant claim/repair stolen ships on planets or armistice stations, you can still land, refuel, and do cargo but make it so that you have to store stolen ships and repair them only in places like grim hex or maybe a scrapyard with a pad making sure that all the thieves have a risk factor in repairing a stolen ship they bought the rights to and also like but if they're not careful they could loose the whole ship in one run and not have a way to get it back.
I think this may only work in certain situations. I stole a ROC mining vehicle and I believe the owner claimed it. When I logged out and back in, it was gone from my hangar.
Yeah, if the owner claims it, then in my experience it will be gone after a session change - logout and login sometime later. With the Vulture, the player he killed probably rage quit, and hasn't logged back in to claim his ship.
I feel like the same happened to me but their is a difference between planet hangers and space station hangers so maybe planet hangers fix it or maybe the npc ships are the right trick
@@jacobenz359I mark where I find abandoned player ships. I go back and check after a day. If it's still there, I take it. Haven't had any issues with de-spawning.
I hijacked an empty C2 today, it had 10scu of eggs and 32 scu laranite, landed it, sold the goods, logged out and it's still in my hangar on orison rn . So you can store stolen ships now, pretty sure they have to be in your home hangar though, but i haven't tested it in a station yet.
A couple things: While the player is still online and still owns his ship you can't move his gridded cargo until you unlock component ports (cargo grid is tied to ports for some reason). Also I think you did this, remember to unlock all doors when you steal a ship but I think you knew that already. =)
I was in the wrong tractor beam mode. I pulled myself into the ship earlier with the tractor beam and forgot to hit B again to use it as a tool to move things
I tested this with a friend. I kept the ship until he logged on again. Then it impounded it which he saw the warning on his screen. Tested again where he claimed it and when I logged back in, it was gone
Wait so it works? I’m a new player and I just did a mission and there is an npc cuty black that I’m currently sitting in. I want to take it back home but what’s gonna happen to my owned ship that I’m leaving behind? I’m guessing I’ll have to file an insurance claim on it?
Could this be tested with a bigger ship than your personal hanger? I've been thinking about finding a reclaimer, and keeping it in my hanger. But if I only pledged for a medium hanger, will the XL persist?
This doesn't work or at least for me. I tried with a left over reclaimer and I logged out for 30 seconds and logged back in. It was gone. Anyone else try it?
the other day i was doing bounties in my Connie and while jumping around Wala i found an abbandoned C2 with an ATLS inside, i tried to take it to my ship but as soon as i moved it outside the abbandoned ship using the tractor beam multitool it despawned. I wanted to see if i could keep it, would have been a nice help even for 1 session. Sad
I think the signature is too low so they can't see the bike. Sometimes when they think it's safe they turn off their shields so perfect for small weapons
I did this the other night. I stole an npc ship and parked it in my persistent hanger. It was gone the next morning. It might be because there was still an npc in the turret or something but it didn't work
You have to get through the door. And doors work slightly differently. Shooting it sometimes works but it's not consistent, although I've only tried it with the NPC prospector bounties that I've disabled using distortion weapons.

How do u save it to your hangar?
@@mattbrian9056 That’s the million credit question. 😆 🤣
Man that vulture owner must have been so confused.
Guy goes through all the work of soft deathing a connie in a vulture of all ships, just to get shot in the face. Damn! LOL!

I really wish they would do more with stolen ships. There's some great gameplay potential

U can sell slam at "beautiful Glen's station"
9:30 for answer
but you missing the good parts about the player, and npc ships and death
But, hey, this is still better than not posting a single video in two months, *ahem* ;)
That's nice. Now if only my OWN ships would persist in storage after I log off and not have to claim them for no reason....
I think this may only work in certain situations. I stole a ROC mining vehicle and I believe the owner claimed it. When I logged out and back in, it was gone from my hangar.

I think he's stealing npc ships. Those don't get claimed, but do they disappear?
Edit: Nevermind, he took a players ship.

I dont know if it counts as "Stolen", but in Sakura workcenter you will find many URSA vehicules parked, I have one from there and stored in my hangar
I actually made a video on a few months ago. It's an awesome little tip for a free vehicle

I believe the technical term for this is 'ratting'.😊

I heard if you log off and stay logged off for more than 30 mins or so things won’t persist like they will if you log off then right back on. True?

I've been stealing player abandoned ships. Those persist too. I actually have 2 C8R rescue ships and 2 ATLS in my hangar from a few days ago.
how did u get the atls? for me it despawn when i try to move it outside someone ship
Thanks for the great tips and tricks videos (like stealing ships!), I am a new player, I used your referel code :)
Thank you so much legend
did you check tohe hopper to see if it had anything in it?
How can you tell if their shields are up or down?
Press T and in your cockpit you should see if your target has shields
What mission is this?
if you attack the vulture, you ll be banish by Luda
Short answer is yes. Ive actually tried this myself a few times
did the same with a 890jump that doesnt persisted until next day
was it your home spawn location? because today I logged in and the vulture was there
@@TheCoreGameplay yes but like i said i never tryed with a small ship i tryed it with a 890jump and at 3.24.0
Wait how the heck are you killing those ships with size 1 weapons? and why is nobody shooting back!?

I get asmr from those pew pews 😂
Wouldn't it be easier to just get a ship from a nice player?
That way you can even get a lot better vehicles.
lol my own ship didn't stay .. I can't imagine stolen one ...
Ok so if you steal a ship you must go to your home persistent hanger not just any personal space station hanger👍👍
can you store it though?
nope, there no way to call it back up
Can you steal an NPC’s ship?
Yes.
some times yes, but if pilot is in T pose, cant be killed
@@demonicsquid7217 then can you keep it?

ive never seen ships wiggle in space like that, im assuming under good server conditions theyll fight back
They can't see the bike. I think the signature is too low or it's just a bug. They saw the vulture just fine so it wasn't the server
You sir, are the GOAT.
Can you steal a prospector?
I have no idea, might be impossible to open that door
You wouldn't download a prospector

Great to know!
Wow, why did you kill the poor guy after he was putting up such a fight?
It's PVP
pirate vs pirate
a good reason was just that, he was putting up a fight on others ppl business.
How lucky! 🤣
I was so surprised
