Omg really guys? These are the only ones I ever owned, to the point where I was confused when I saw the other generations 🤣. I'm from Argentina like Yisela, maybe that's why lmao we did not have a lot of variety in mi city when I was a kid. AND Ivy was my first one, now that I remember!
I love her! I own this pony and a few others from the generation, so its super neat to see her cleaned up :) Maybe someday I'll try restoring some of my old collection
Am I the only one who would love to see her make her OC pony that is at like I think 8:10 in every video it be so cute to watch her turn a G1 pony into her own character that we all see at the end of her videos
I'd love to do one! It's a little tricky with UA-cam and the famous algorithm, it's hard to take risks. But I definitely want to do I'll get thinking 😊😊
Oh dear, she's got a bit of whiplash in that neck joint XD I think for a more relaxed hair style you'd need bigger curlers, so the curls don't wind up as tight.
Hi! Did you notice any bleaching in spots after using Peroxide on blue ponies? I tried fixing my vintage nirvana spanish starflower with Peroxide (she was greenish and had pink marker stains), it was going okay but after I had a break from restoring her I noticed today the peroxide ate through the blueness (even though i left her for months without any peroxide on her and she had no sun exposure). Did this ever happen to you? Btw it was 9,9 % 33 volume peroxide.
ive only got 1 G2 and I got her in a lucky dip at UK pony con she's called cleaver clover but I dont collect them just G1 and some G3 and G4 special runs, I always thought they looked like the fakie ones they sold in pound shops (im in the UK)
I grew up with G2 ponies and she was my very first one! You did an amazing job, she looks just brand new! (The original gem crystal color should be pink, but white suits her better) Edit: I heard you're looking for other G2s, I'm selling my ponies, would it interest you?
Thank you so much 😊😊 Ooooh pink! I thought blue, I couldn't tell by the pictures. Are you selling any for repair? I'm going after the worst ones :Do Feel free to send me the links via IG or FB!
I love how she came out! And that’s a shame they didn’t sell well in the states, I personally love the more realistically proportioned shape and probably would’ve had one growing up.
I have a soft spot for G2 ponies since my very first original mlp was from that gen (Clever Clover), they get bad rep for their weird models but I find them very charming in their own oddball way. Your work and care you put in these always amazes me, keep it up! :D
I didn't think I would like them... I was a little skeptical while doing this pony but as soon as I saw the colour of the hair... That was it. Instant love. I really like the shape too! I hope I can do more G2s soon ☺️
Tbh I honestly like the shape of the model and the moveable leg. Honestly wouldn't have complained if they kept that model for awhile! But honestly I didn't know much about g2 ponies or what they looked like until now though.
I had one called moon shadow. If you pressed the tail her head would bow down. Plus she had a magnet SO she could pick up things. I absolutely love these slender lanky models. I really think these are the most beautiful mlp. But clearly I'm in the minority because you never hear people talk about g2. Mine came with so much stuff too. A little dresser to hold her accessories. A gate that you could attach a rainbow to, and of course a comb and hair clips.
I wonder if the general dislike for g2 ponies is because the design is such a massive departure from the g1 look? Seems like g3 walked it back a bit, being a little closer to the g1 look before having 3.5 and g4 take a hard turn towards the cartoony.
I was born in 98,soo I had few g2 ponies when I was a little boy 🥰 but my childhood ponies are definitely g3 I hope I see restorating some g3 pony, and of course nice video 😍
I'm so glad you found the G2s appealing! I had the video game based on G2s as a child and it has always had a special place in my heart, but since the G2s only lasted a short while and they never had an actual show made of them they don't really seem to be as popular. I'd love to see more G2 ponies! It would be really cool!
she looks awesome, she's one of my favourite g2 ponies! i just started restoring some g1 ponies i found at the thrift shop. they were super filthy and rusty inside! love your channel, restoring old ponies is so relaxing to look at (and do as well)
I had this one as a kid! In fact, I still have her. She was my favorite of the ones I got as a child. I loved the design of the G2 ponies the most, it's too bad they had such a short run here in the US and that so many people seemed to dislike them. I thought they were adorable and I wasn't even the typical girly girl at that age. This video has given me some great ideas on how to restore my G2s so they look almost new. Thanks!
My mom grew up with g1 and i grew up with g3, so this is actually the first g2 ive seen! I still think the g1 and g3 sculpts are my favorite though. Guess im just a fan of the "chunkier" sculpts, haha
Currently, owning a G2 is one of my goals. I own ponies from every generation EXCEPT G2. Since I am American, they're very rare here and international shipping costs for some of the more unique G2s just isn't affordable for me. Love to see them get some love on your channel!
I hope you can find one soon! I don't really know anything about their prices. I found this one online and it was very cheap. I have so much t learn about them yet ☺️☺️
You're American? Then you should have no issue finding the G2 ponies that were released in the states for cheap. They're easy to find on reselling sites for $10USD or less since they weren't as popular as other generations.
Me neither!! I though I would have to rehair and I was really worried about where to find that shade of pink!! Very glad it all washed off with just soap 😊😊
As someone who has started to catalogue and clean up my own personal collection, including one of this exact pony, it's exciting to me seeing G2s getting some attention like this! Their design was so cute and elegant, a lovely mix of features that puts them perfectly between the more realistic horse shapes of G1 and the cuter cartoony body and head of G3, they're such a distinctive generation
Great restoration as usual! G2s are my fave ponies and I´m so happy they were produced until the early 2000s in europe! I do have this particular pony and I think her original eye crystals were either pink or red, matching her hair ^^
I grew up mostly with G3 ponies, but my first was a G2! After describing her on a different video, someone figured out that she was named Cupcake! I miss her quite a bit. She had a magnetic nose and hoof. You made Ivy look very pretty, good job with her makeover. I hope you do manage to find more of them!
Oh god, this is my childhood! I grew up playing with and loving g2 MLPs (though I had no idea they were g2 at the time.) This video is activation all the nostalgia feels! ♥️♥️♥️
I've never seen a G2 before! I'm so amazed that the hair cleaned up so well. I thought the purple was a lost cause by just looking at it, but one wash and it was good!
Unfortunately, the only way to bring back colour that has faded is by using synthetic dye. But if it's only rust, you can use toothpaste and it comes off! 😊
It's really strange, I was so confused! I honestly have no idea what it was. But it washed off with just water and soap! I thought maybe chalk or ash, but it didn't smell at all. Mystery 😳
I was born in 1992, so the ponies I played with were all G2’s as they were released around the time I was starting to play with those types of toys 🥰 I had quite a few of them. But when I grew out of them we donated them to a charity shop, seeing this makes me wish that I had kept them
So pretty!!! I’ve never seen G2s! 🦄 I’m looking forward to the mechanism repair! It will really finish it off!!! Btw, are you going to show you painting the bases for the Sea Ponies?
Wow extremely entertaining and an Adorable Pony! Your editing is great and the commentary is very sweet. Plus that cat is just too cute! screaming like that!
I haven’t seen any for sale, but I found this website a while ago, it’s called mlpmerch it has pictures of almost all the ponies, also if you tap on the generation u get different categories! 😁 PS: Ivy looks AMAZING!!!! I love her! 😄
Aww I’ve never seen a G2 pony before! I grew up with the G3’s (whose designs I also love). She’s so cute and I love the motion mechanism idea. Even though you didn’t fix that in this vid, the life you were able to bring back to this little pony is wonderful!
I hope to do more G2 repairs soon! I want to find a way to fix the mechanism. I don't believe it cannot be done :P Thank you so much for your message 😊😊
I appreciate that you included the meowing in the captions lol. as a pet owner, whenever I hear barking or meowing in the background of videos, I have to check and make sure it's none of my creatures needing something.
G2!! Yeeeee~ I had one of these as a kid xD Not one with this mechanism, but just a G2 pony as a whole. I forget the name, might have been Posey, but it's the one with pink hair and yellow body. Butterflies too - so practically Fluttershy Ancestor One of my fave toys as a kid, I gave it so many baths, took it to the sandbox and woop we go wash it again in the sink~ Together with a Charizard, they were certainly bath buddies. I was a little disappointed that I kept the toy so clean because I loved seeing the difference of the dirt and dustiness coming off and stuff looking like new again xD Never inked or ripped the pony though. Maybe gave it a mud bath and buried it a few times, but it was pretty much always washed soon after
I'm so sorry for the really long delay. I hadn't been able to reply to comments these last weeks. I think this message was duplicated, but I only saw a small part of the other one so just in case: thank you so much for sharing this!!
Little Boo-Boo is soooooo cute! You should make a short video of just him for us to enjoy. :) (But please DON’T make it count as your weekly video because it’d be so short.)
Thank you so much for your message 🥰 Unfortunately we lost Boo last week (that's why I've been away). I wasn't sure whether to day it but you were so kind. She had a long, happy life however.
Oh my gosh i had this pony as a kid!! I wonder if she's still in my mom's garage or if she got sold before our big move all those years ago... EDIT: my mom still has them! Looks like there is a treasure hunt in my future :3
I grew up with g4 but I want to get into collecting the older generations, I haven't started yet but I'm hoping I can find some at thrift stores and yard sales because they're too expensive for me to buy online
I think this is the first G2 pony I’ve seen. Nice job on cleaning her up, she looks great. The UV Chamber works wonders. Would be very interested to find out how the head/leg mechanism works. If you are able to figure it out please do a video on it. Very smart to use a tool to apply the super glue. Those tubes aren’t made for precision application. Small suggestion, use a separate tool to apply the glue and another to position the work piece. Prevents you accidentally glueing something you don’t want glued... ask me how I know 😹😹😹 For a larger piece, I use a tooth pick, it’s cheap and disposable so I don’t have to clean glue off my tools. For a more precise application on a small piece, a needle or straight pin works great. That poor baby kitty, so deprived! Give Boo some love, and tell him my kitties said hissssss 😸
Thank you so much for sharing your tips! I'm quite bad at keeping my tools clean, not gonna lie. It's a skill I need to practise ☺️ I'm glad you enjoyed the video (and thank you so much for your help, I really appreciate it). I will send your regards to Boo ☺️
I've been watching your videos for several months and never commented before now, but I want to say how much I adore your content, the presentation style, and the warmth you bring to this channel! I love how elegant the G2 pony designs are, and it was great to see one up close during your restoration.
Omg, I need some of those gems for my G2s eyes, G2 is my favourite generation of Mlp toys and so many of the ponies I have gotten have the eye gems missing
I got mine from Amazon (there should be a link in the description). But you might need to come up with project for the other thousands of cyrstals that come in the pack 😁
True!! I wish they did modern interpretations of the ponies though! Transformers has some cool reimagining. At least both have dinosaurs :D (MLP has one)
@@RetroGeekCrafts Yes! Please do more if you can. I really loved watching this video! I have 2 ponies of this generation... Both of them would need a restauration, and watching these brings me Hope!
AHH OMG a Gen2 pony!!! These were the ponies of my childhood. OMG I am really looking forward to seeing the video! Ivy was one of my favorite ponies, along with Sky Simmer and Princess Crystal I followed my urge to buy the ponies of my childhood (+ a few more) and make my first steps towards restoration :) All thanks to you! So thank you for my new hobby, my new collection and my piece of childhood which I got back. btw The eye crystals that fit are about 3mm in size, if anyone needs to know that
I'm glad I could finally find a G2. I hope you enjoyed the video! (And that it's not too different from an original G2, I think the eyes might be wrong!) ☺️
Hello great video!! I love the g2 pose and design. Ive been wanting to get a retro pony (g1, g2 or g3) for a while now but ive been struggling to find good offers or any offers at all since i live in Argentina. I was wondering if you buy yours online or what websites you used for getting them. Thank u a lot. Love your channel
Thank you 😊😊 I bought some ponies from Mercado Libre but the best place in Argentina is the group "Mi pequeño pony argentina oficial". I hope you can find some soon!
my goodness Ivy! I need to dig up my old ponies from the storage, see in what condition my Ivy is in 🩵She didn’t look like a “main character” and came with no accessories afaik, but I also loved her very much as a kid, always gave her a very demure, very mindful character 😂
Ooooh I had a lot of thoses ! They probably still are in my parents attic, if I find them when I go back to my parents house next time, would you be interested in me sending a few to you ? You are based in the UK, right ? I'm in France so it shouldn't be too expensive to mail them
Gosh I just stubled upon this video and it made me remember all of my G2 ponies >u< My twin sister and I had so many of them! They're probably in the attic at my parents house! I had this pony too :0 but she has a darkish pink crystal inside her eye~ silver looks very pretty too actually!
I had this one! I love this generation so much. Luckily, I live in Europe, so I was able to get quite a few when I was young. I'm so surprised they were only made for a year outside Europe :o I think it's so cool what you're doing for these toys, seeing your videos makes me really want to go and get them back, they're currently in a box at my grandparents' house. I need to find a place for them at home ✨
@@RetroGeekCrafts You probably could eventually but the amount of ponies you'd have to go through to learn how it works and how to fix it probably isn't worth it lol
Ohh, I think these were some of the ones I had as a child, I was born in 95 (in europe). I specifically remember the little diamond eyes. I havent really thought they were my little ponies bc they are so different from gen 1 and the old series.
I wasn't around to see the original generations of mlp (the earliest toys i own are from gen 3.5), but honestly ever since i had seen the molds used for G2 i've loved them!! I think they're one of the better generations in terms of the toys, with their more realistic but still cute proportions. The art used especially for the G2 game is amazing. They're so graceful looking!
she looks stunning omg!! had never seen G2 ponies before and she's so beautiful 🥺🥺 you did an amazing job! and think your cat wanted to join in in the video x'D so cute
In the “meta” of my play universe, G2 ponies were a special kind of rich, royal blooded ponies. Often a little spoiled, and very high ranking. 🤭 Nearly all of my ponies were hand-me-downs from my cousin, some in good condition, some not so much. In the large pile of ponies, only two of them were G2, and only one of them still had her crystal eyes. She was crowned the queen of my ponies for being so fancy. 😅😋
whoa, I had this one growing up!! This brings me back, I loved my G2 Ponies! Looking at them, I definitely had Ivy, I remember Dainty Dove and the Wedding Chapel Set, Morning Glory/Princess Flora, Satin Splash and Sweet Berry I think :D
My favourite generation! I love their silhouette and proportions, the eye diamonds, and some of their colour schemes and/or cutie marks still look lovely and unique (e.g. Silver Swirl, Princess Crystal, Prince Firefly, Copper Glow, Princess Golden Light, Princess Silver Rain, Clever Clover, Miss Painter), You did such a good job, as always!
Ooops :/ Unfortunately, it can't be edited. Thanks for letting me know though! (the subtitles are quite bad, I didn't have much time, I will do better next time 😊)
(I have some videos to catch up on in terms of commenting, I hope you don’t mind) I just realised I never posted the original comment to this video 🙃 I was so happy when I saw this video, I grew up with g2. I unfourtunately sold all of them in my tweens but I reclaimed my favorite from ebay right before christmas in 2021. Copper Glow will forever be my favorite and I used your videos as a guide when I restored her 💚 Ivy's colors are BEAUTIFUL, such a gorgeous restoration. G2 is so underrated, they're kinda the supermodels of My little Pony. Long legs and bedazzled.
I'm somewhat of a collector of G2 ponies (they're my favorites in terms of design) and I had no idea they stopped manufacturing them in Europe in 2003! 2003 is the year I was born and the year MLP G3 began!
yaaaaaay G2!!! G2 is my favorite even though I never grew up with ANY mlp toys. I like that they actually look kind of like horses compared the other gens.
I found this video via youtube recommandetion. After watching it I had to go and look for my g2 ponies ! Discovered I have a Ivy one that I forgot, and many others. They're all in an almost good state, some stain here and there. And only one with a disappearing symbol :c I'm gonna watch your others video to learn how to fix them ! Keep the good work, and I can't wait for your next g2 video
I had Ivy! Not this Ivy tho, I got Ivy without the movable leg in the Sunny Garden Basket Surprise together with Sweet Berry. I lost them at my friends house and they disappeared…never to be seen again :’)
Woah, ive never seen a G2 pony before! It would be cool if you could find more to restore/make customs of!
I hope you liked it! ☺️☺️ I think I'd love to do more!
I’ve also never seen a G2. I feel like it’s the MLP generation that nobody ever talks about; I certainly don’t know much about it!
I actually own 3 off them the 1 in the video, another ivy with longer hair and a white bride.

I appreciate that you included the meowing in the captions lol. as a pet owner, whenever I hear barking or meowing in the background of videos, I have to check and make sure it's none of my creatures needing something.
i had a handful of these and loved them so much ❤ still have them and some of their set pieces in storage
I've never seen a G2 pony, they're so cute! Also please don't apologize for cat interruption, what precious meows :)
Thank you so much 😊🐱
G2!! Yeeeee~ I had one of these as a kid xD Not one with this mechanism, but just a G2 pony as a whole. I forget the name, might have been Posey, but it's the one with pink hair and yellow body. Butterflies too - so practically Fluttershy Ancestor
One of my fave toys as a kid, I gave it so many baths, took it to the sandbox and woop we go wash it again in the sink~ Together with a Charizard, they were certainly bath buddies.
The cat isn't hungry she just wants to be pet.
The cat: "This woman hasn't fed me once in my life!"
(joking of course, I've got a cat myself ;))
This definitely sounds like her xD
Little Boo-Boo is soooooo cute! You should make a short video of just him for us to enjoy. :) (But please DON’T make it count as your weekly video because it’d be so short.)
Thank you so much for your message 🥰 Unfortunately we lost Boo last week (that's why I've been away). I wasn't sure whether to day it but you were so kind. She had a long, happy life however.
Omg! I love this generation!
I had some of them myself as a kid! It's so good to see them being restored 🖤
I'm glad you like her 😊😊
Interesting restoration! Very unusual proportions, because G1 is quite plump 👍
Yes! It took me a little time to get used to them but I like them! They are closer to the G1 flutter ponies and bride pony!
Oh my gosh i had this pony as a kid!! I wonder if she's still in my mom's garage or if she got sold before our big move all those years ago...
EDIT: my mom still has them! Looks like there is a treasure hunt in my future :3
Oh great news!!! That's awesome!! 😊😊 I hope you can see your ponies again soon!
I love your cats ;u; they are cute ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I get to the point where I don't know what is the best thing about your videos, your art or your kittens
Than kyou 😊😊
Me encantaria ver la restauracion de un G3 un dia. Seria genial😊
Estoy buscando uno! Espero hacerlo pronto ☺️
I grew up with g4 but I want to get into collecting the older generations, I haven't started yet but I'm hoping I can find some at thrift stores and yard sales because they're too expensive for me to buy online
I hope you can find many vintage ponies ☺️☺️
Watching your videos has got me thinking about giving my G3 ponies some love. They are all in need of a good wash.
You should! It's actually really satisfying. They are easy to clean so seeing the before and after feels great! 😊😊
I am obsessed with the obscure g2 ponies and i was wondering when id find a video of you restoring one!! One day I hope to find one myself :)
I hope you find one too ☺️☺️
The kitty oml! Sounds so adorable. A wonderful addition to the video.
Thank you 😊😊 She's the best but she LOVES vocalizing her needs!
3:13 Hopefully your partner doesn’t see this video… /:
Haha yes ❤️❤️
I've been watching your videos for several months and never commented before now, but I want to say how much I adore your content, the presentation style, and the warmth you bring to this channel! I love how elegant the G2 pony designs are, and it was great to see one up close during your restoration.
I'm so sorry for taking so long to reply! I'm really glad you enjoy the videos and love the ponies too ☺️🥰 Thank you for your message!
It's the first time i see a G2, im not a huge fan of the older G's but they're so cute!
I'm really glad you liked her 😊😊
I like how My Little Pony has G1 and G2s like Transformers... very cool.
True!! I wish they did modern interpretations of the ponies though! Transformers has some cool reimagining. At least both have dinosaurs :D (MLP has one)
@@RetroGeekCrafts I agree. Do you do restorations on Jem dolls? I think you do She-Ra, right? I'm in the middle of working on a Gobot myself. ;)
I had a few G2s as a kid, but Ivy was always my favorite one! So cool to see her all cleaned up and like new.
She's a really pretty one 😊😊
A G2 pony!! I never see those how exciting! I hope we see more
I'm glad you liked it 😊
She's got a pretty face. And the eye jewels are a cute touch.
Thank you 😊😊
Haha, you kitty interuption was wad quite cute.
She's very vocal 😊😊
She looks Gorgeous!!! See you on your next video. :)
Thank you 😊😊
G2 Was my favorite Pony Toys generation. Their faces and tender bodies... Loved them.
They are really nice toys, I'm glad I did this restoration and realised that 😊😊
@@RetroGeekCrafts Yes! Please do more if you can. I really loved watching this video! I have 2 ponies of this generation... Both of them would need a restauration, and watching these brings me Hope!
So weird to have just one articulated leg
Agree :P
AHH OMG a Gen2 pony!!!
These were the ponies of my childhood. OMG I am really looking forward to seeing the video!
Ivy was one of my favorite ponies, along with Sky Simmer and Princess Crystal
I followed my urge to buy the ponies of my childhood (+ a few more) and make my first steps towards restoration :) All thanks to you!
So thank you for my new hobby, my new collection and my piece of childhood which I got back.
btw The eye crystals that fit are about 3mm in size, if anyone needs to know that
Wow, that's so great to read!! Thank you so much for your message 😊😊 I hope you can find and help all your childhood ponies 💖
@@RetroGeekCrafts I hope so too :) The two rarest I have already been able to find
Ivy is my favorite G2 pony. I want to get her so bad. This type of decoloration between the leg and body seems common with magic motion ponies
It turned out so good!,! I foresee many g2s in your future!
Thank you 😊😊
It looks like a different toy. Nice work.
Thank you 😊😊
Generation 2 its my favorite :)
I'm glad I could finally find a G2. I hope you enjoyed the video! (And that it's not too different from an original G2, I think the eyes might be wrong!) ☺️
Wait… I had this exact my little pony! Her hair was EXACTLY like this before I donated her…
I love the expression on her face. So cute.
She is really cute 😌😊
Hello great video!! I love the g2 pose and design. Ive been wanting to get a retro pony (g1, g2 or g3) for a while now but ive been struggling to find good offers or any offers at all since i live in Argentina. I was wondering if you buy yours online or what websites you used for getting them. Thank u a lot. Love your channel
Thank you 😊😊 I bought some ponies from Mercado Libre but the best place in Argentina is the group "Mi pequeño pony argentina oficial". I hope you can find some soon!
@@RetroGeekCrafts thank u so much
my goodness Ivy!
I'm so surprised they were only made for a year outside Europe :o
I think it's so cool what you're doing for these toys, seeing your videos makes me really want to go and get them back, they're currently in a box at my grandparents' house. I need to find a place for them at home ✨
Wow, articulation? Really spending the big bucks there.
Yes! Unfortunately, the mechanism means you can't really open the pony without damaging it I think :/
Mlp g5 costums plis :3
Just made one 😊😊
I have that pony now I picked her out last Sunday❤
In the “meta” of my play universe, G2 ponies were a special kind of rich, royal blooded ponies. Often a little spoiled, and very high ranking. 🤭
Nearly all of my ponies were hand-me-downs from my cousin, some in good condition, some not so much.
I had this one
She's a beauty 😊
waaaah she was my first pony
3:02 look at the mistake in the text “I grew up with the G2s”
Ooops :/ Unfortunately, it can't be edited. Thanks for letting me know though! (the subtitles are quite bad, I didn't have much time, I will do better next time 😊)
@@RetroGeekCrafts I don’t mind, I actually think it’s quite funny.
(I have some videos to catch up on in terms of commenting, I hope you don’t mind)
I just realised I never posted the original comment to this video 🙃
I was so happy when I saw this video, I grew up with g2. I unfourtunately sold all of them in my tweens but I reclaimed my favorite from ebay right before christmas in 2021. Copper Glow will forever be my favorite and I used your videos as a guide when I restored her 💚
Ivy's colors are BEAUTIFUL, such a gorgeous restoration.
She became so beautiful! What a transformation!
I also love the G2 toy style, and Ivy is indeed one of my favourite ponies :D
OH THOSE LITTLE KITTY NOISES
Shes so precious
She is the best 😊😊
@@RetroGeekCrafts my kitty always likes to lay on my drawing tablet as im trying to use it.
Should I avoid the cutie mark when applying hair salon cream?
G2 pony are beautiful. They look so interesting and unique. I want one.
I got a whole bunch of these from when I was lkttle if i'm not mistakking I have 3 Ivy's xp
I found this video via youtube recommandetion.
After watching it I had to go and look for my g2 ponies !
Discovered I have a Ivy one that I forgot, and many others. They're all in an almost good state, some stain here and there. And only one with a disappearing symbol :c
I'm gonna watch your others video to learn how to fix them !
