All I needed was the picture at the end. Same result in cooking with more features for less money? The Grilla Grill is the obvious winner in everything besides cooking area and the dad test lol.
can't compare price unless you compare the same size grill like traegers lil Tex.
They are comparable in size
The Grilla Grill is 692″
Main Cooking Area: 26×19.5=507″
Upper Cooking Area: 7×26.5=185″
TragerTexas Elite 34 is 646"
LastCasualty I
+baconater04
The video started the comparison of the grills, not me.
LastCasualty 😠
You should have compared the elite Traeger not the larger one as its bigger in size not fair in price due to size.
Pomade is used to shape the hair and keep it in the shape. Basically if you wanted to twiddle your mustache so you look like a Sherlock Holmes villain you can do that now.
The Grilla is the size of the Lil'Tex Pro by Treager. The Treager your using is much larger thus the price difference.
How many sponsors do you need for one video
The advertisements stop around 5:30
Shane Eikenberry unfortunately, it took me until 4:30 to find your comment 😂🤣😂
Ridiculous ... just dropped my subscription.
You the real MVP. But, if this is how this guy makes his money $, I get it.
Just made the leap to Grilla from 40+ years of charcoal. So far, I really dig it. I am following the recipes exactly and I am enjoying perfectly smoked beef and pork. The Silverback Alpha is terrific. Would highly recommend. 9/13/2020
Thanks
I’m debating on getting the Silverback Alpha or jumping up to the Traeger Timberline, but it’s a grand more. I currently have a RecTeq Bullseye.
@@mikepotapa5773 stay with RecTec. Can’t beat the heat control
@@JB-zd9bp thanks for the advice. Just bought a RecTeq 700 and got the free matador wok.
Just upgraded from my old cheat broil upright smoker to a Traeger Texas elite 34. I still consider myself a bit of a novice and your videos are a godsend. The recipes are blowing my guests minds. You got yourself a subscriber. Thanks for all the tips. Keep doing what you do brotha.
Thanks for the demonstration. FYI, I've personally used the Traeger for several years. Traeger makes a smaller version of the Texas, called Lil Tex, which I own. Visually, it looks the same size as the Grill 'n grill in video. It also is a comparable price to the latter.
Thanks for the tip on using that coffee company.
Now I'm hungry.
Costco's version of the Lil Tex is called the Century and it is supposed to be insulated and transfer heat better. It looks almost identical to that Grilla Grills.
When comparing price the Texas is much bigger and you should be comparing to the lil' Tex it's more of the same size as the gorilla grill. I love my traeger, I've had my lil' Tex for 7years and if anything breaks on it they send the part for free
The Traeger does come with the digital display, they haven't used the old smoke medium and high in some time
This whole video is a infomercial
I have to say something about your graphic comparison... you should have showed more detail, such as hopper size and for sure cooking surface as the Traeger costing more, it also has a larger cooking surface.
Traeger hopper = 18lb capacity
Silverbac hopper = 20lb capacity
Traeger Texas Elite bottom rack = 34" x 19
Silerbac bottom rack = 26 x 19
Traeger Lil Tex (same price as Silverbac) = 22x19
So you're telling me that the grilla grill have more options given to us than the Traeger ? You have to pay extra for certain things? Grilla Grills wins hands down.
Jesus how many promotions can you put in one video
Bought a Silverback last week after catching your earlier review. Given the $300 cost difference and all of the extras Grilla includes compared to the Traeger it seemed like a no brainier. Just wanted to thank you for saving me $300, I'd never heard of them before. They're a super nice company to deal with too, mine arrived with a borked controller, one quick phone call and replacement controller (along with some free rub and sauce) was on its way.
I too bought my Silverbac after seeing the first unpacking show. Customer service is top notch and the quality of the grill seems superior to other comparable pellets grills
The Brisket on the Traeger looks a little better to me.
Hi Jack,
I think your comparison should have included cooking area. The Traeger looks much larger than the Grilla.
Next Traegar down is the Lil' Tex, which is smaller than the Silverbac (and the same $699 price without all of the Silverbac's extra features)
Nice video, I like the rub mixture. Gonna have to try that. I went with the silver back over the trager because of the cost and from what i have READ, customer service is better at Grilla Grills. So far i am good with my purchase. Just running out of meats to smoke. Great video. And I might have to check out Detroit beard products. I love my mane.
Since both smokers use the same technology to provide the smoke and heat. It's exactly what I thought would happen. The difference is really in features and price of the units tested. I'm assuming you used the same pellets/flavors. Meaning the same manufacturer same type of wood. Why would the meat flavor be different?
I have a Treager and love it. I've been cooking on it for five years now with no problems other than the hood hinges bent but Treager sent me some new ones at no cost. l think it's a great smoker and company. looked like the Treager had more cooking area which is important to me because I still run out of room sometimes. love your videos keep up the great work.
It looks like the Grills brisket started out a bit darker. Maybe the coffee settled a little to the bottom of the bowl since it was the second brisket rubbed. I'm a Silverbac owner and so far I love it . Keep up the good work Jack 🐷👍🏽
I meant the Grilla brisket not Grills. Autocorrect 👎🏽
Atleast you said you were being sponsored this time.
Did you clean out the fire box before using them both? You didn't say. I find that's why it doesn't begin billowing smoke "in the first 5 min" as you said. Also the graph at the end is a little skewed since there is a traeger (lil tex or century depending on where you buy) sized the same as the grilla grill that's actually a little cheaper (599), comes with the below storage, cover, second (half) shelf, digital display, and you can buy a meat probe digital read-out to replace the temp dial, if you wish (two meat probe slots). I definitely saw what people were talking about down below with the ash all over the Grilla grill Brisket. It doesn't seem like the taste of it came through from your review, but still just doesn't look right...
Had the grilla grill chimp for 1 year, great and no issues,so now im ordering the Alpha for turkerys and more room plus the jerky rack.Quality steel and better made than others in my opinion and I rebuild US Coast Guard aircraft so im about high standards.

hi jack just did it thanks man .
The Chart isn't a fair comparison. Your comparing two different model of grills, so of course they are going to be different. you should have done a Grilla grills silverbac vs traeger century 22.
Thanks for the great video Jack!! Grilla Grill looks great. I don't own one of those, but I can tell you that I have owned a Traeger for two and a half years and I love it. I use it all the time and I have never had one thing go wrong!!! Excellent smoker and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Keep the great videos coming!
I would have liked to see him include the overall grill inside space and grate cooking space for each.
don't pretend u r a chef, stop eating raw meat
jack my family loves you your my guide to smoking with the treager, everything I made following your videos is amazing
I use a straight razor myself and love it once you get used to it
pomade was used a lot when I was a kid and had hair. it gave us a shine and waves in our hair. that hook on the comb is a bottle opener and I love those stiff brushes. you have a nice gift. lol
i don't eat meat, but it seams like you get more for your money with the Grilla Silverbac smoker.
Something else to factor in might be cooking space. A comparable sized Traeger might cost less. But the extras that are included with the Grilla Grill are awesome. I've been wanting a Yoder, but I'll DEFINITELY consider the Grilla Grill! Thanks for the comparison!
Nah, next Traeger down is the Lil Tex which is 22x19 (silverbac is 26x19) which is the same price with the same included items as the Texas Elite. So for the same price as the smaller Traeger you get more surface area on the main rack, plus the top rack, plus all the other added features.
Also grilla might go through pellets faster cause of all of that extra smoke, but they both had similar smoke rings. Not sure if thats true, but it might be something to look in to
I have never tried any beard oil or butter but always wanted to. Please choose me to broaden my horizons!
I say the clear winner in Grilla Silverbac. Just on cost alone.
One thing about a Traeger is mine is 10 years old and has been in all types of weather and still works like day 1.
Pre 2010 they were made in the USA and better constructed. Since then they were moved to China and quality has gone down. It sounds like yours is one of the better built ones. Do not expect the same quality if you ever have to buy a new one.
@@urgbot I think so. It's been outside all this time (under a covered patio) without a cover and there is no rust and cleans up good. The therastat went out last week and I got a new one.
You're lucky cause my Traeger was broken from day 1. Returned that sucker in a heartbeat. Seriously considering a Grilla.
@@mackducky Get a Masterbuilt Gravity 1050 or 560. I got one and then sold the Traeger. It smokes and grill using charcoal and wood chunks. It will go from 150 to 700 degrees. Works like a pellet grill where you can set the temp and it will stay there.
@@brent4770 my problem is the space and I want a Grilla model, which stands right up. I definitely want a traditional grill/smoker but in the future when I have a bigger and flatter backyard. Thanks for the info
I kinda like going with the mahogany look versus the black. I wrap mine once they get to a certain color.
Thank you very much for that review. The chart at the end was very helpful.
Jack, excellent video. I remember seeing the infomercial for the Traeger, and it said it was also useful for other cooking methods (i.e. baking, grilling, etc.). I'm just curious if the Grilla Grill is also able to perform these functions. I haven't decided which one I like better, and there are several considerations for me (including overall price). Thanks for producing a really great video, and if you want my vote for beard butter, I prefer good old fashioned hand churned butter; applied with a couple ears of corn on the cob. :-p
This entire video is sponsored and all free for him.
well i suppose the beard company paid for the meat since they are sponcring the video?
It's sponsored because Jack has been doing the show for years and has a lot of subscribers. Why would you knock him for that. If he reviews a product and it doesn't live up to what it says it's supposed to do Jack is honest and tells you so. I suppose you don't watch TV or listen to the radio because they have commercials. SMH 💩
Don't need any beard butter but Grilla seems to be the winner to me. Grow a beard Jack.
I went here to look at grills and we are talking about beard butter??
IMO, this is not a fair comparison. The Traeger Pro series 34 is closer to the Grilla, it has 2 meat probes, hopper door to change pellet flavors and comes with the upper rack which gives it more grilling area. No it doesn't adjust at 5 degree increments, but for the "non competition" bbq'r, I would think the Traeger controller does a fine job. Hell, I use the old style low, med, high controller for years and never had any complaints. The pro series 34 is $999 now and the elite is $899.
I've tried both and Traeger is superior
300 extra dollars more superior or just slightly?
Nice video, Jack. Really enjoyed it!
I'm a dapper dan man.
My hubby has been dying to try Detroit beard butter!!!!! He's a beard butter crazed man! Haha!
We love your channel!!!!!!! Thank you for teaching some awesome stuff!
Are You using left-hand or right-hand brisket's?
It looks like a no brainer on this choice. They both cook great, but Grilla is a better value. Now, if you compare durability or steel gage, you need to throw a Yoder pellet smoker into the race. Jack, please get Yoder to send you one of their pellet smokers and maybe Rec Tec too to have another comparison. Please get a Yoder though. Great video btw.
Cool stuff Jack! Personally I'd use either smoker. No competition in my opinion.
It takes a full 10 minutes to get the smoke out of the Traeger and that picture doesn't look anything like the smoke that comes from my Traeger even in five minutes. Your's just doesn't look right.
did you use the same pellets in both grills?
Maybe I missed it, but what kind of pellets did you use in each grill?
I believe it was Trager Hickory Pellets in each. I always use the same fire source on comparisons. It might have been Grilla Grills brand Hickory. I use Hickory and Mesquite in most of my cooks. Can't stop loving those flavors.
5 minutes in and you finally start talking about the grills.
How do I know you’re not Fluffy in disguise? 🤨
I would love to have the beard butters. I have always had trouble with my beard and people online have told me to use a butter but I was never to sure to get it. Now that i see that you endorse the product i would love to give it a try! Thank You jack. I follow you on all social media and have been watching your videos forever. You made great Content and i would love to be a part of the experience! Thank You Again!
Could you test the one of the green mountain grills out
silverback seems like the better bargain for sure after the graph. I could use some heard butter too Jack been watching you vids for bout 5 years now love your progression
I liked this video. The advertising wasn't bad like previous videos so good job
what was the weight of each brisket before they went into the smokers? pulled at 190, but what was the final resting/carryover temp... looks like it needed about 5-10 more degrees so you could get a proper bend and pull test on 1/4" slices... and just my personal preference that rub had too much sugar causing the darker bark you mentioned.
Mr. CookingWithJackShow, there is no way I can communicate how much better a double edged razor is than a cartridge razor. I would strongly recommend looking into it's use if you don't already use that type of razor. Its way cheaper blades for a way, way better shave.
need to do Yoder vs Smoking Brothers
Yoder wins everyday, but I guess it really depends on what you are comparing. The quality and durability of the Yoder is like no other.
I'd like a beard butter. I also still use a 1920's Gillette double edge, and a straight razor, you might need to do some looking around to find double edge blades that you like, some are pretty aggressive while others aren't.
when you show the brisket on the grilla grill it looked like is was covered in ash. was that just the way it looked or was it really covered?
Robert Gancarz right I saw the same thing. My Traeger has never done that. Not saying it is better but never seen that.
I would like to know as well.
I've got a full beard and could use some beard butter. May i have some beard butter, please? Also, now I'm hungry.
Before the beard I used a safety razor just like that. Mine was a FatBoy if I remember right. There is a reason that Gillette stopped selling them, the blades cost nothing. I like the fact that the Detroit Grooming Company used Michigan names in their products. I'll try some beard butter if you don't mind. Thanks for the vid!
Grilla Grill Has my vote.
ill take the metal comb that doubles as bottle opener and the bbeard butter would be cool
Everything is better with some butter ! In NYC I'll like some
Show a comparison of grill cleanup.
did you factor in the social media presence of Traeger all the support they offer and the recipes and online videos that they do
Beard butter sounds like something I could really use, please add me to the drawing
I would love to have one of the beard butters for husband. He always tries to grow a beard and ends up cutting it off because it looks scraggly. I''ll bet the beard butter would help. Thanks for the opportunity!
People often complain about the inability of the Traeger to maintain temperature. Would have been good to have compared both temperature controls with another thermometer for reference.
Oooh my husband would love the butter. I want the brisket my mouth is literally watering!
so.....it's now a battle of equipment, pricing and quality of the grill....along with the warranty
I have no idea what beard butter is but I'll try it. Great video, by the way. A good impartial review of two products that do pretty much the same thing. Do they use the same pellets? I don't think I'll be getting one anytime soon because I just got a Weber gas grill last year.
Jack, you've helped me take my cooking game to the next level! Help me step my beard game up! Excellent video btw.
Yum. Undercooked brisket...
jack my husband and my anniversary is on the 28th I would love some beard butter for him for our 11th yr. either way keep up the great video we have love trying the recipes
I love your channel Jack. Now look at my pic, I can use some goatie butter for this thing. And its twice that length now.
so buying trager is like buying a Jaguar, you buy the expensive POS just because you can. The Gorilla Grills is like buying a Tesla, expensive yet affordable and come with all the features you need.
Tesla is much much more expensive than a Jaguar Terrible comparison lol
It would be great if you dod a rec tec vs. yoder grill
Those were the 2 finalist for my purchase, but I ended up going with the Yoder for several reasons, but a big reason was that I was able to go put eyes on it before purchasing. I don't know about the durability and thickness of the Rec Tec, but I do know that the Yoder is the best quality I saw on any of the other pellet smokers.
Smoking function appears similar between both manufacturers, however, when comparing construction materials and warranty, the Silverbac has the advantage. I'm liking the SS, thicker gauges of steel and the double wall on the bottom of the Grilla vs. the Traeger. Looks like I'll be ordering the Grilla since i'd rather pay less and receive better construction and an additional year of warranty. Just sayin and no, i do not work for Grilla.
I'd love to try some beard butter and learn more about men's grooming. Of corse if they are not all ready taken. And always, thanks Jack for the video, God bless.
You didn't wrap and rest?????
Depends where you're from
Damn it Jack! now you got me hungry for BBQ. Thank's. LOL
Thank you, very helpful in my search for a good smoker.
good video, thank you. can you tell me what the temperature swing from the set temperature is on both.
Could you please compare the Traeger pro series vs rec tec?
I have an original 1936 Gillette safety razor in gold. Works amazing! Old razors are better in my opinion than new ones.
what about more cooking area? would that account for the price???
Being that you would call this a ties far as the food level goes I would be real interest in in you going to now quality built between the 2. Compare components And what they're made of as well as ash dump out go into the specifications now take it one step further as I am looking at buying these grill a gro pro
Huh?????
I live in New Jersey, I would like to have one of those butter for my beard
btw your show is great, I've cooked so many recipes
I'm going with the grilla, by the way my beard could use some butter. awesome video as always
on the silverback, why does it seem to have a lot of problems with the lid lifting after a few cooks?
that problem is long gone with the new lids they came out with earlier this year.
You get what you pay for.
I found this guy from "colossal is crazy" he makes some interesting points of what jack here is all about. I recommend you see it. The title is simply called "weed"
I would like to try the beard brush if you are not testing it
