I started with the Chimp for 2 years and also ordered the outdoor Island Kitchen. Last year I sold my Chimp and purchased the Silverbac and have it sitting on the grill stand, no cabinet needed. Love it and it is a tank. I live in Wisconsin and use all winter long every weekend in single digit temps and it holds temps just like it does when it is in the 80's and 90's. The front shelf does not fit when sitting on the Island kitchen cabinet but I did spend the $25 for the extra upper rack and would highly recommend you get one. then you have the full width of the upper rack to smoke multiple meats or a lot of wings etc.
@@meseahunt It is a great pellet grill. If you do not plan to do any large cooks its perfect. You can get about 2 pork butts at one time, really 2 of any meats is about max. If you can afford it go for the silverbac, but i understand it is more money. I sold my chimp and a OJ Bronco to pay for my silverbac. Nobody has ever said I wish I had not got such a big grill or smoker. But people do say I wish I would have gotten a bigger grill or smoker. Always buy as big as you can afford or hold out longet till you can afford bigger and you will not have any regrets.
@@GrillMarkCoHigh HOPES. I don’t expect the same flavor profile, but having long cooks with less prep(other than the protein itself) will be a nice change. Cheers.
Thanks John! I tried to hit every point in the video of things I liked and didn’t. Can’t wait to cook on it! What do you think about it from the video?
I didn’t see any blue smoke coming out of your grill. To me it look like a chimney. I can’t imagine you got much smoke flavor from that. Do you get a whole lot of smoke taste when you cook hot and fast or do you have to cook low and slow to get your food?
Great video on this grill. I own a Primate and want a Silverback now. My only suggestion is next video cancel the music in the background as it's distracting while trying to listen to you talk. Cheers! 🍻
Have you been able to update the wifi app on android? It won't even install on my phone and it looks like the app hasn't been updated since September of 2022!
I have questions about inside the grill, Like fans , super smoker ? Burner ,auger .... I found zero videos on website I like to see what they do differently. Thanks
@@GrillMarkCo Is there any cool mechanical innovations that this company does that's proprietary. I'm stuck between this grill and the Green mountain grill ledge..
@Ryan-yi6su they have the alpha smoke system and they it’s going through an upgrade currently. Green mountain are good grills. Grilla is built more heavy duty, to me, higher quality parts and amazing customer service.
@Ryan-yi6su I don’t know if there is anything proprietary, but there was a lot of thought and design put into these smokers. Whichever you choose, you can’t go wrong. If you go with the silverbac, get it with the AT Kart. It will make all the difference.
I can’t believe they sent you a free grill with the Wi-Fi. I called up to get the Wi-Fi and maybe a discount since I asked for it when I ordered mine and it wasn’t yet available. I couldn’t believe they wouldn’t even give me a discount. In my Opinion that’s not customer service.
I don’t understand. You’re saying you asked for WiFi, and it wasn’t available? The non wifi grill is cheaper. Why should they give you a discount for something that wasn’t available?
That’s a tough question. I don’t have a recteq but I know they are built well and run well. The Grilla I’ve had has run flawlessly. I’ve been wanting one of these for a while. I absolutely love my silverbac.
i’m new to the smoke game and the more I research the more I learn that grilla/reqtec is in the mid- tier level…….brands like Yoder and Pitts and Spitts r on the higher end/top of line…….and there’s even other brands out there that people haven’t even heard of that r even more expensive/higher quality build 😔😔😔
Oh yeah. Grilla is probably the best bang for your buck inder $1100. Yoders are fantastic and lone starz or pitts and spitts are all great. But go with that you can afford. Reqtec is great. I love my Grilla also.
I'm not sure about rectec, but I've owned a chimp for 3 years now and their customer service is out of this world. I've had to call twice, once for a faulty PID probe, and one for a faulty controller, left out in rain 😬....this is going to sound like a lie, but I swear both calls from hello to goodbye was 2-3mins. Told them the problem, they verified my address from the phone on file and they sent me my part....owned pit bosses and traegers and this is not the case...I'm just starting my outdoor kitchen and I'm buying all the grilla line (primate, Kong, and silverbac)...I don't care if it breaks, I care if there is someone that cares about getting the customer back up and grilling, not trying to come out cheap as possible
You missed some great points about this grill. You didn't mention the double wall construction and called some of stainless steel regelar steel. Otherwise great review! I owm one and love it!
Thanks? I love what I do and it’s just fun. I don’t do it for money or anything else. The amount of comments doesn’t drive my love for food, cooking, grilling, and sharing recipes. I appreciate you watching the video and I hope it inspires you to buy a grill and join me on the journey.
I just finalized my order for the AT Silverbac a few minutes ago and I am suuuper excited to start cooking. Thanks for the video!
Rock on! Welcome to the jungle! You’ll love it!
The Silverbac AT is a fantastic grill! Love my Grilla Grills products!
Right on!

That’s great advice. They have so many options when it comes to these grills, but the extended rack sounds like a good one to start with.
curtis, was thinking bout a CHIMP as a new smoke guy, any input u can give me?

Excellent demo Mark!

Great video, i am in the market for a pellet grill and am considering this grill, thanks for the video.
Glad I could help! Let me know if you have any questions. This grill has cooked flawless for me and I’ve done a few cooks on it already.

Hot and fast, not a ton, but it’s there. Low and slow, no matter the grill, is where you get the smoky flavor.

Great feedback. Thanks.
Looks very well built
It is because I put it together! Lol
Just got mine and it is built very well.
Cannot stress to everyone enough, buy it for the customer service alone...customer service is best in the business
I totally agree.
Have you been able to update the wifi app on android? It won't even install on my phone and it looks like the app hasn't been updated since September of 2022!
Great question. I am actually in Beta testing for the new app now. It’s true it hasn’t worked properly so Grilla is actively working on it.
I have questions about inside the grill,

Thanks
What would you like to know?
There is no super smoke setting, that’s a traeger setting.

I did mention that it was insulated. Either way, I appreciate it! This was a fun video.
Just burned my arm tonight.
It happens.
"The Internet's Favorite BBQ Expert" ?? LOL... Like your videos, very informative, but not a fan of embellishments like this...
It’s a joke. I know I’m not. The whole bbq expert thing is really something I do on TikTok when I talk about others bbq and cooking fails.
Act real secure for a guy with 3 comments on his shit.
I hope you succeed despite your shortcomings
