    Before you buy the turn switch check the relay. They burn up and fail.

    Also make sure you put a cage bolts back so you have them for the future. Idk how many times if went to help someone and they don’t have cage bolts on the truck at all

    It was good to met you at UCC/ODR21 this past weekend. I was left stranded on my trip home as well, mine was a little more catastrophic. I drove my race vehicle to/from event hoping to not have any issues. About 90 miles from home the engine decided it had enough and crank broke (yeah it's a stock bottom-end duramax). Time to build bottom-end to handle 7.70 index class. See you at next event.

    When you're on the side of the road like that, keep your head on a swivel and don't worry about vlogging. Idiots on their phones kill more and more stopped motorists and wrecker operators every year. Don't be one of em.

    Yes a lift bumper kit would really help out since you changed to low pro 22 on the steer axle

    A good tip to remember when you're using your semi of course you know the brakes are powered off of air if you hear a pop and start losing air you better pull over because the brakes will lock up or you'll burn them up

    Get a push bumper kit. It pushes the bumper forward and then lifts the bumper up usually lower trucks have em but they come in handy

    You can get a front bumper that lifts up with air rams you see it a lot on the custom bull haulers

    You need to get your bumper mounted on air pistons to lift it on demand when you think it may hit drives,speed humps ect

    When I first started driving, just over 45 years ago. My first truck was a 1959 B-61 Mack with over a million miles on it when I got in it. Owner told me it had a rep of being a poor man's truck because it NEVER broke down and left a man stranded on the road ...

    Try restoring a truck like yours and doing over the road work at the same time 😆
    I rebuilt a western star and also run it 600-700 miles a day when I’m working half the year. The other half I’m working on it.
    U need a big wallet a lot of tools, spare parts and a whole lot of mech skill to keep u going sometimes.

    Told ya lol looks are the last thing you should be worrying about when you have a cat powered truck, brakes n air are one of the same in any semi, bleed air lines bro n check s clamps . . . Thought you would have gone over all the air lines as most of us semi drivers do, regularly

    • @ClarksAutoAndPerformance
      @ClarksAutoAndPerformance 3 роки тому +3

      It was nothing to do with the lines. The seals in the valve probably failed.

    • @triplehfarmsllc7348
      @triplehfarmsllc7348 3 роки тому

      He ain’t no truck driver though. If he was using it for a career you better bet he would go top to bottom. And the lines are fine it’s The valve seals. And I’ll bet you $1000 you don’t check your air lines regularly 😂 and that your truck airs all the way down over night 😆 you might check them if you hear air but that’s it.

    looks like an anti compounding valve. that valve keeps air pressure from going to the service side of the brakes when the emergency/parking side is active. if not for that valve you would run the risk of damaging slacks, cams, shoes, drums.

    • @tjtrent2351
      @tjtrent2351 3 роки тому

      Anti compounding is built in to most spring brake relay and service brake relays since the early nineties, just sayin. Yes, the crossover line helps avoid it, but it’s not an Inversion/Bobtail/AntiCompound valve. Thank god for updates to air system components over the years.
