I hear you loud and clear regarding UA-cam. It can be a tyranny if not approached with the attitude you expressed here. I too enjoy the artistic creative challenge it presents. I’m 72.5 years old… I count the half years with respect to still ADV motoing!
I look forward to this route! I'm on a Super Tenere and have friends with property in Vinton. I'll be able to use it as a home base. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the compliment. I have thousands of hours off road. Raced off-road for decades. The bigger bike did take a minute to get used to but it's still the same principal. Just go ride and ride some more. Muscle memory will take over.
Great to have you back... Guess it's time for me to get rolling again too. Lol. Funny story I took a wrong turn down Blue Creek Road like a week after I got my truck and realized I hadn't been there right when I got to that rut at 7:28... I backed all the way out and got a flat tire too. Love Vinton County though.
Jay, i love watching your videos man....i'm hoping i can figure out how to maneuver my panam like that and make it look effortless like you do! sláinte
My thoughts exactly. I kinda look at it like I'm making home videos for my family and friends to watch. My most simple cell phone, 3 minute non-edited videos have done the best with 10s of thousands of views. The once in a lifetime trip ones with hours of editing, no one sees.... YT can be a strange place. I will say, once you get to 1k subs, they will finally start helping you push content a little. As you said, who cares, if you enjoy creating, keep it up, don't need to sweat it a bit. Enjoy the content man, keep em coming!
we must have some strange connection as I Just watched your latest video earlier and then you comment on mine. lol. But yeah, I am back to creating what I want for nothing more than the fun and creative outlet. I a just finishing up 2 that I am super happy with. Love that you are out there doing the same and seeing your improvement over the last few months does not go un-noticed. Getting better at creating quality content just because , well getting better seems better.
@Local Route ADV that's crazy! Yeah, I was like "I wonder what he's been up to" lol, went over to your channel and saw your new stuff. Appreciate that man. Learning to edit videos has been super tough for me and sometimes DaVinci resolve doesn't help matters! Been trying some new transitions and cutting up the footage a bit more. Appreciate the good word buddy! Ride on!
At 58, I'm transitioning from a 2017 Triumph Tiger 1200 to a 2019 BMW 1250 GSA (better long ride comfort and lower COG characteristics for offroad). Live just east of Cincinnati and would be interested in trying some of the big bike friendly gravel/dirt you might have in your tool kit. I've done the SOAL before on the Triumph, but have yet to get the BMW off of paved road yet (that's going to change... LOL)
Yeah I'm with you on the gs comfort. The off-road ability surprised me. I'm taking in the some crazy off-road trails in a couple days. So we shall see. I put the word out on the Facebook groups for rides. They are great if your aren't a member yet. Soal group and southern Ohio adventure rides.
@@localrouteadv I just rejoined Facebook this week with the sole purpose of joining motorcycle groups since most of the rides are announced there. Been riding solo since the pandemic and I need to get more sociable again. :D
More than likely we are coming 2 up to do the smokey mountain 500 and then a bunch of other places. have 16 days. Definitely would love to come say hi.
Vinton County is the best county in Ohio for adventure riding in all types of vehicles.... Get maps showing these roads at the County Engineers office.

That is awesome. Hope I'm able to do the same 20 more years. Thanks for being such an inspiration.

You bet. Thanks for tuning in. I'd say one more time in that area and I'll have the Vinton big bike downhill route done.
I dunno how you make that terrain and downhill gravel roads on a big bike seem effortless.

Haha. I've heard so many wrong turn type stories on blue creek. Real adventure type stuff.
And yes I'm ready to get lost at last.

Thanks. The key ingredients is confidence and momentum. Or maybe it's just momentum? Lol
@@localrouteadv lol!! are you saying "when in doubt, throttle out?" lol
@@Eds_PanAm it works more than it doesn't.

Couldn't agree more. Thanks for the tip on the maps.
