Bro the comments on this video helped me figure out why I still had small amount of bleed every once in a while after cleaning my piercings even after 5 weeks! I was thinking by now I shouldn’t be bleeding at all! When I clean them I’m absolutely moving them around too much and it must be reopening the wound. It’s a very small amount of bleeding and there’s no redness or swelling so I know it’s not infection. THANK YOU UA-cam COMMENTS! Watched a whole other video on the proper way to clean new earrings and now I really think they’ll properly start to heal!
I appreciate this video, the creator gets good marks for effort. Even though there's conflicting info regarding whether to use cotton swabs or whether to turn the ring during the healing process. Other aspect like the suggested cleaning solution seemed to be accurate. Thanks nonetheless.
Two common mistakes and myths this video promotes: 1. Cotton Swabs: Avoid using a cotton swab. The small fibers of the cotton can actually irritate the open wound; 2. Turning your piercing: AVOID turning your piercing while it's healing. This is a very common misconception even among professionals. Moving it will most likely actually damage the wound and prevent it from healing. Any benefit you might get from moving your piercing won't be nearly as substantial as the benefits you get from not moving it. Also speaking from experience.
@@marsh2849 I personally use a wound wash spray and a paper towel to remove debris around the wound. I know cotton swabs are so much more practical, but they’re riskier ! Eventually, when it no longer produces debris, I just stick to the wound wash spray (I spray it once on each side of the ear and let it dry). I personally use NeilMed Piercing Aftercare Fine Mist Wound Wash. Really, taking care of your piercings is so much simpler than the internet makes it out to be. Trust me, I had to go through dozens of videos and articles until I finally found a good piercing aftercare routine (including the product I recommended above, which really seems to be the best one out there).
Never ,neverr turn or twist your new earlobe piercing!! After watching this video and all on other videos they are suggesting this , but i had worst experience!! My piercing was completely fine and healing and wasn't swell but since i cleaned them while twisting, and turning it again and again. My ears are now swell and just!!regretting now!
Helixes are cool but if you wanna see how it might look on you without actually getting the piercing/you cant get the piercing rn, cuffs r totally great! Tip is to find a bigger one that can be adjustable, and dont have it around your ear too tight. Most of the time its completely harmless and looks awesome
I used to do this actually, I will never get a piercing in cartilage ever it’s too painful and scary and the fact that apparently you hear a pop when it’s pierced is insane to me
What do you suggest using instead? I saw that you mentioned toilet paper. Anything else? And what kind of solution? Someone told me not to use the Claire's saline solution that they gave me. Thanks in advance ❤
I feel like the whole "twisting your jewlery" in new piercings is different for everyone. I have done it both with the 2 ear piercings I got done professionally, and the 2 ear piercings I did myself. For ME personally, my skin was literally healing to the jewlery itself when I didn't do this, causing it to be a pain in the ASS to clean/remove my jewlery. As long as you're careful about how fast you're twisting it, and making sure to ATLEAST clean your piercings EVERY NIGHT, then twisting them shouldn't cause any issues. I got my professionally done ones 3 years ago atp and the ones I did myself only had issues when I hadn't cleaned them for days due to depression. TLDR just figure out what works for your body. Some peoples bodies heal piercings VERY fast when they take good care of them, while some piercings on others NEVER fully heal even with the same care.
i know that loads of people are telling me not to turn the new piercing, but people also tell me to turn the piercing because it will heal around it and you wont be able to get the piercing out? so do i just leave it and not turn it until its been about 6 weeks?
For the antibiotics ointment, can I use Neosporin Original Antibiotic Ointment for my piercing? Or can you recommend me a suitable antibiotic ointment? Thank you
I guess just spray the cleanser on your ear, after reading these comments cause I just got my ears pierced. @@cruzblanco3588 I got mine re-pierced a lil over a day now, haven't cleaned as yet but I'll do so before day 2. Good luck to you & your method. Peace!
I was thinking of buying a pack of q-tips after the recommendation but now I'm not so sure I'll. Most likely I'm gonna use folded tissue (ensuring it's of a certain thickness & not too saturated with the solution thus avoiding breakage/shedding while cleaning).
My piercer told me the more I forget about my new piercing the better it will heal, my body will do 95% or the work all I do it do a salt water wash on them once a day and never ever touch it or break the plasma barrier it will increase chances of keloids!!
@@keto1690saline solution/ wound wash I know I’m super late sorry but if anybody else reads this I recommend the niel wound wash spray it’s helping me a lot and I’m usually prone to infection
I searched it up on Google, it said you can (for anyone who doesn’t have saline solution, just use hot salt water and soak your piercing 1-2 times a day.)
Bruh, I’m using that, like the ear and nose saline solution. My piercer said saline solution so I got what the pharmacy had. I guess it was the right one because there weren’t any contraindications. How is your healing process going?
Just got my ear lobe pierced, you don't have to twist or anything, it's better if you just forget that you got piercings. I would suggest taking a bath a few hours before doing piercings cuz you won't be taking a bath for at least a week. There should be zero contact of water on the piercings. In around 10 days they will be healed and you will be able to wear jewellery (gold is recommended). Other than that just use polyfax ointment during the first few days of piercing. I hope this will be helpful for the readers.

This video is like the instructions I got from the lady at Walmart years ago. Today the lady from the tattoo parlor gave me better instructions:)
had the same issue
Do you turn them or move them at all when cleaning them or just clean around it?
Tips I got from the piercing shop I got my earlobe piercing at: DON'T TURN YOUR PIERCING! USE A SPRAY FOR CLEANING THE PIERCING! NO COTTON SWABS!
So just soak them?
I got the spray and it got infected still. So idk.
I went to the piercing shop and cotton buds and cotton wools is what they recommended for my helix piercing
you can use aseptic gauze instead of swabs or q-tips!! that’s what my piercer recommended
Bullshit

NEVER turn a new piercing! All you're doing is ripping open the healing insides of your piercing hole!
But the instructions in the paper they gave says otherwise … so do* I turn it or not?
