I find VP has a slightly metallic taste. We ran out of our usual brand of collagen peptides (that I order) so I picked up VP from the store. That's when I noticed the metallic taste. I give my 10 year old Yorkie collagen mixed in water and she won't touch the VP brand unless I mix it in bone broth, even then she's not too happy about it. There are better tasting collagen peptides out there. Orgain is actually better tasting.

It is absorbed better when taken along with Zinc and a good vitamin C such as "Healthforce superfoods truly natural vitamin C" - a lot of supplements absorb better when taken with other things. We just have to be proactive and vigilant and do research unfortunately :)
Collagen peptides work better when mixed in cold foods or beverages. When you put them in things like coffee you’re not getting the full nutrients from it. I used to love it in my coffee until I found this out 🥲
I take this collagen in the morning with my coffee and then after my workout I’ll have a protein smoothie with a whey + casein blend and Creatine .. so I don’t rely on collagen for protein, I just look at it as a really nice bonus
There is a taste even though its unflavored. It tastes very gelatinous if you don't add sugar or some sort of flavor.
