I feel so honored that you tried this! I agree, doesn't seem to be any issue with the Diamond Dust and that would be a good way to give just a little bit of pizaz to a wrap. The blue pigment would be interesting to try mingeling with other colors. I originally didn't think it would flow well for that but on second thought it may give a more controlable result than the regular two-part finish. Very interesting, thank you! John, thank you for your time in the military. It obviously meant a lot to you and I can't thank you enough for what you gave. We truly appreciate it.

I am sold that it is a variant of Createx UVLS, that being said Createx Candy 2o would make the colors much more vibrant. Candy 20 is an ink instead of a pigment. I am going to have to see if I can get the MSDS for the Thread Master and compare with the UVLS.

@@reelbluecustomrods I like the quick time set up of clear but 72 hrs sucks to let a rod fully cure lol but most custom rods take a while anyway but still cool stuff. Thanks again

Great vid!!! Well, I have a bottle on the way. Did the glitter float to the top where you can feel it? Is the surface smooth is what I'm trying to ask.

The surface is smooth, but I would recommend another coat of finish over the top of it.

@@reelbluecustomrods Thanks, I planed on it anyways but It's good to know to treat it like two part.

John, I frequently "re-purpose" rods. My problem is that after stripping the guides from a rod, I find that the color of the rod is different under the guides, i.e. a Wright McGill rod. I'm very intrigued with your mixture of yellow pigment in the one part finish. Is that finish flexible? Would it work to cover the dark patches left after guide removal? I thank you so much for your videos. I really like them even though I've only "liked" them but have never commented before now. Hope you will forgive me.

Thank you for watching and commenting David, and no worries for not ever commenting before. Just happy that you are getting value from them. It is a little flexible, but not sure I understand your plan. Are you looking to add pigment to a finish to cover darker blank spots where guides used to be?

Oh, i forgot to mention in my last comment in the other video, i noticed that it wirked like a color preserver and did not change the thread color and or cause the non color preserved nylon thread to go transparent.
More benefits and still less products to by. Perfect for underwraps and first coats on thread in general.
This will change things for me cost and application wise because i am an ammature builder and repair person mostly for my own rods.
Sorry to the other expensive brands but you cant continue to take advantage of the market and get away with it. There must be products for the small man with small pockets too. What we need is functionality over how pretty it can look.
We catch fish, not try to make the fish feel extra special because the like the finish and designs on our rods.
Thats why the average rods are so expensive now and other manufacturers have had to flood the market with cheape made rods and at times, they are still good quality. Just saying....

Thank you again for commenting Paul, and voicing your opinion in the thread. That being said, I there are some other reasons on why some rods are expensive and why some rods are cheap, but that is for another video.
Hope you have a great weekend. 🙏

The liquid pigment may be a solvent based product in a water based product causing a reaction between the two not allowing the two to mix properly creating a curdling effect creating the flakes. Spent many years as a automotive painter working with these types of products, they can do some crazy things. Adding a metal flake or products along the same line should have no effect or cause any reactions. Hope this comment was helpful to you. Thanks for your years of service from an old Jaarhead!
