You must be young not to have heard of Mike Scott?? Listen to his words up there with the greatest songwriters of all time...Lucky you to have found them...
A very long time ago while with a friend who was on an airport pick up , me and his sister who was my girlfriend at the time went along for company, anyway this song came on the radio and halfway through the song she leaned across and whispered I love you for the first time . Still get goosebumps when it is played.
We just did this song at Church this weekend. Not sure that was ever the intended audience, but that congregation walked out with this on their tongues.
It's 2019 and I'm in the US where the lyrics to this song resonate strongly. And I'm sure it also resonates with the Brexit situation and with refugee situations worldwide. Thank you, Mike Scott, for having a heart.
Great song still into this singer & band since the 80’s such as extraordinary musician Mike Scott is the best of them all glad to kept his awesome career going glad to have them in my life. This is beautiful to say the least!.....❤️👍☮️😻🙏
sometimes i read the comment this is such underrated artist and i dont agree but this time i think that this is an underrated artist cause for me mike is a genius and love his message.
This was at the Hospital a venue in London owned by Dave Stewart. This show was part of a celebration of musicians that changed music. (I can be corrected on this information)
Nice version of one of the best songs by Mike Scott on his solo albums. I tend to prefer the original version (I'm used to it, of course) but this one has got the "band treatment" with more eleborate arrangements.
I sometimes kind of wish Scotland gave out special titles or medals like all that English nonsense. Perhaps, "Honorary Laird of Celtic Wonder", something like that?
This is an extraordinary man. A fantastic songwriter and a wonderful human.
Beautiful song, arrangement and masterful performance.
Exquisite bass part from Yolanda Charles 🙌🎸
Yesterday was the first time I ever heard of the Waterboys. I've been listening to them nonstop.
You still listening nonstop?
Me too months now

Welcome in
Mike is such an extraordinary songwriter. He creates a MELODY like few others. Beautiful song. Beautiful rendition.
What an absolutely gorgeously beautiful rendition of a gorgeous song!

Mike and The Waterboys changed my life in 1986, and continue to do so!
Me too! :-)
Ditto, well wasn't 86, but Mike is like the absent family member and best friend that's never around and yet always there.
Jeez, me too!
He helped me with my Conversion back to Christ 🥰😇

makes a change from having God's shite on their tongues I suppose.
Not sure about that mate. I'm fairly certain Mike Scott is a Christian. How else would you explain Everlasting Arms?

Wow. I didn't think he could top the original album version, but this might just be it. Brilliant.
who is the original author?
Mike Scott wrote it himself. This live version is just different than the record version. Both very good.

Does anybody know if there are more videos on UA-cam from this particular concert ?
Bring Mike Scott to Germany!
The music that flows through Mike Scott is The Sea.
Or maybe the Waves Mike used for the Waterboys logo?

Is this the only vid available from this particular show? I've searched to no avail. I'd love to see more, it's such a good version of this song.
Glasgow man.
Who are the backup singers ?
Wow.
😘
fab, take on this, but where was it?
Very curious version....almost erotic. More songs of this gig?

Interesting to see a version of this song with soul sisters singing.....it was unfortunately just so obviously lacking soul !!!!
I've heard the name The Waterboys for years but this is first time I have actually heard them play. I'm not impressed. Are they Irish?
Are you relevant?
Too slow. The original had a sense of urgency about it.
Shite version, the original had conviction in every second of it.
I dont like birds playing the bass...its not reet.
Agreed how bloody dare they!
YoBass Charles shes great
