A pub where you can hear yourself think and actually have a conversation? Nope, not many of those these days...oh, and a landlady who doesn't tolerate s#!t from irresponsible punters

I'm from Devon and used to work at Wylfa Power station. She was always really nice to me..
I worked for the CEGB, I was a fitter at Barton Workshops in Manchester. We did a lot of work for Wylfa.
A Scandanavian prison is like a 4 star hotel in London. Not just in comparison. A prison sentence in Scandanavia is basically a sabbatical from the daily grind.
This seems exactly like my kind of place, especially given the price of beer. I wish we had more such places here in Australia - nothing fancy, salt of the earth, no pokies, wankers unwelcome.
Looks like a decent place, decent pint and they seemed to be happy to deal with you.
I grew up in Northeast Pennsylvania. Very rural coal region. Drank heavily through my 20s and 30s. I’ve been in some bars/pubs that make this look like a 5 star establishment. I’d be a regular there.

One pub I didn’t get to when in Cemaes, but busy on a sunny Saturday afternoon. They even had an Irish folk band playing outside and seemed like great craic.
Its not a pub for tourists. I think we’ve established that there is no worse pint of Guinness than Leeds 😂

I would Drink there if I was ever in the Area, even the Toilets didn’t look too bad, I’ve seen much worse.

Makes me nostalgic for The Stanley. Go in with the paper for a few pints. Talk to a local crank for a bit. My kind of pub.

Go to the famous Eagle and Child pub in Oxford...this was frequented by Tolkien many moons ago...the toilets are disgusting...dirty toilets used to be the norm in the UK ...

4 pubs along one road in Cleobury Mortiner, worth checking out.
Dunno why YT recommended your channel to me but years ago I worked up and down the coast of the North Wales Riviera and I have been to this pub. Fortunately I look like a rather large Hells Angel. And I drink Guinness. Although mainly cider these days as I now live in deepest darkest Dorset. Liked and subscribed immediately.

Looks like any rough local you could go to. Guaranteed to have a good night in those pubs though.
That toilet looks like the Ritz compared to a Chinese school toilet. First hand experience. The cleaners also aren’t 5 years old and they use soap and more than 1 mop for the whole property.
It's hardly The Gatcombe (Hartcliffe in Bristol, gone now but basically the bar from Roadhouse)

The Panton Arms is Pentraeth sells the best Guinness on the island

My type of pub. I like landlords with a point of view and pubs where people just sit and chat to whoever is around. Looks like no food, no music, no nonsense.
The reviews on of this pub are a bit extreme and harsh. I thought it seemed alright.
Guinness ice cold keg needs no skill to look after it , it's the same everywhere , there is more shit talked about Guinness than any other beer all that bollocks about "lacing" is utter crap.
The pub itself seems fine unpretentious and perfectly friendly .
Could have shown us the special clock boys?

I'm going to be in Anglesey in July definitely going to give it a visit.
My vote goes to the Pompadour in Corringham Essex. Eventually it lost it's licence due to drug dealing. Thankfully it was demolished and a small block of flats built on the site.

Worst pub ? You need to get out more, Anglesey is a really nice place too , i can think of a hundred pubs a lot worse than that just off the top of my head.

This is just a quiet local pub, nothing wrong with the that.
on the surface seems fine to me, but i'm old school and like my pubs to be like pubs, not glorified wacky warehouses full of kids running riot with chavvy parents or smelling of greasy food. if i'm ever in the area i'd give it a spin for sure, i'll talk to anyone, even the Welsh !!

Looks a little dated but clean and well tended. My area has been infested by middle class newcomers from the south, who I can only presume made their money in middle/upper management, because they act like anchors. Cars now parked one in two spaces and snotty kids who have no manners. I have a fair bit of sympathy for this lady and wish my local was a bit more selective
They obviously have busy nights they wouldn’t be able to run a pub with only a couple of people every night
Trip Advisor reviews are done normally by very negative sad people - that pub was alright and the land lady was alright - a quiet pub without sky sports and fruit machines where people have to entertain themselves by talking to each other.
