I'm scared 🤧 sell us some rituals for finding a soul mate like your, Jenna i wish to have a relationship like yours!! You and your bf are so sweet and suportive, aaaaa
Yay you purchased a push broom, so much easier than a scrub brush.
MudWtr is fire been drinking it the last few months
Hi Jenna, please fix the roof and keep hounding the city/ province for a roof repair permit!!, maybe call Mike Holms for some help!!?? Thanks
Great job on saving and loading up all of that scrap metal. BUT PLEASE tell us that all that metal and wiring that you put in that dumpster is going to be TAKEN TO A METAL SALVAGE dump to be SOLD TO THE SALVAGE company. Surely your father told you that you can make money off of all of that metal and that has to be why you saved it all to be dumped all together?
I love how Nick has come out of his shell since you first started. We used to only see him from afar, from the back and an off screen voice. Now he gets almost as involved as Jenna does with the videos. AND he has a plethora of knowledge!
I've noticed as well i love his fun facts and them talking together about the house is so nice ans fun! We love Nick!!
I'm so curious what his background is! I've been like he's definitely a contractor, no he's definitely an architect, at various points throughout the series!
@@bbbqmac Omg yes! Just when I think I’ve figured it out he throws a curveball! Like “nope now I think he’s a plumber” or something 😆
And handsome
@@bbbqmacThey where interviewed on the local news. He's a electrical engineer. He also said he built a house from scratch before with his dad.
It was so cute when your neighbor (I’m assuming) stopped by and said “we came to visit our famous neighbors!”
I bet they're the talk of the neighborhood, as those 'crazy kids' trying to save a totally derelict house. I mean, UA-cam fame aside, even. They probably have a betting pool going on the outcome 😆
Of course, your neighbors are nice, your Canadian 😂🇨🇦
That was awesome Hahaa 😂” are you the new famous neighbor” well she is watching from the Netherlands ! 🇳🇱 Europe haha 😜
Watching from Texas. I love your videos 🥰
@ARTSIEBECCA We’re in Oregon but have Canadian family. We say around here “they’re not just nice, they’re Canadian nice” 😂
the swinging from the wires was a great moment lol And I'm soooo proud of how far you guys are coming with the house. The progress is incredible!
I was hoping it didn't break. 😊😊
It was my favorite moment in this episode.
Use the hoses , like you did in pool , to drain the water save your back, we only get one 😂
17:34 she came in like a wrecking ball
I saw Jenna swinging and started laughing 😆 Great Moment!!
Love how you don't fastforward through footage but its a slow paced, relaxing environment where you two have conversations and occasionally add soft music. Its fabulous
“I fee like I could be an electrician”…
“I hope the power is off…” 😂😂 you. are. ready! 😅
The neighbors are probably SUPER happy that y'all are cleaning the place up!
Then the next ugliest house on the block is the neighborhood "crack house" 🤣🤣
i know i would be! there’s one on my street that’s been abandoned and vandalised
That's what I always think watching those videos
Improving all of their property values.
i love how jenna's content has gone from cottage core knitting to being bob the builder now!
Love how Jenna used to say "I", "my", and now it's all "we", "our"❤ this project is comming out amazing! Good luck!
There should be an award on UA-cam for most adorable couple. Hands down you two would win.
Not that I don't agree, but have you watched Evan & Katelyn???
@@faithmly
Hahaha. They immediately come to mind as competition, don't they? Too adorable for words, those two.
Safiya Nygaard and her husband Taylor are couples goal, too, though.
Award of me being jelous for 14 episodes aka 14 weeks , i really wish i have meet someone in my life like that to help me and to help back, but still we don't know what is behind the cameras, but i hope and belive they are both going along great.
They're like the couple from the movie "Up"
@@raraavis7782 Yes! Forgot about Safiya and Tyler, them too
Jenna swinging from the ceiling was hilarious! 😂
I was going to comment that that's the funniest part of the video!😂
I almost choked cause I laughed so hard
Ok Maddie Ziegler
And also quite impressive.
My parents had that EXACT lighting system in their mid century house. And yes, they did shut off the lights in our room 😂
Wow! Interesting... :)
I love how Nick has so much knowledge of all the things. What is his background: engineering, electrician, carpenter, what?
Found this channel after they were interviewed on the local news. He’s an electrical engineer. He also said he built a house from scratch before with his dad.
@@jeanallan8106 Could you possibly provide a link to the interview...? Thanks!
@@jeanallan8106
Can you please tell me where I can find the interview? Thanks
Where can I find the interview?
@@jeanallan8106can you send the link to the news??
This has to be the best series on youtube atm xxx
Would second that
I do agree, though there is a very similar story happening @Shannon Makes. She's also a craft channel who bought a house that needs a huge, shall we say, reawakening? And she's also Canadian:))
I also second that and the Diddy (no I mean the original diddy, AI) is really good. I'll be humming that. I can't stop already 😂. 😮
I’m clearing out my dead parents’ old home that they lived in for close to 50 years. It’s full of stuff, especially my Dad’s workshop. It’s hard work - sometimes back-breaking, sometimes heartbreaking - and I’m doing it all alone. On days when I think, ‘ugh, I just can’t’ I watch you two cheerily doing all sorts of hard, heavy stuff and having a great time! I don’t feel so alone and it’s really motivates me to get back to it! Thank you both so much! You’re doing such a great job - in more ways than one. Best of luck for the next round of permits and for everything else. Take care ❤
You don’t realize but that electrical system was beyond state of the art in the 1960s. That house must have cost a fortune to build. Good move to remove the ducting the HVAV guys would have removed it anyway….great news about the pool. What ever they say go for salt water it’s so much easier to maintain
Copper ion system ftw
Who was the paint? It looked in good shape.
I'm really enjoying watching! My husband and I were married 53 years. We ALWAYS had a project going. There always were and will be surprises. My husband passed away 8 years ago. I watch you two and see some of our projects! It's always fun, hard, and rewarding! You keep posting, and I promise I'll keep watching! Blessings!
Yes, such an amazing house! It's so very sad that it was just left to rot. Jenna came just in the nick of time, looks like...
@@denverdubois5835Nick of time...😊
The amount of information your partner has to just hand out as needed is the best part of this series. So satisfying to my autistic brain.
I really hope that your permits get approved so you can put on a new roof! Sending good vibes.
They desperately need a new roof.
@@kathrinekerns8398Raise the roof!
Yeah❤
Why do they need a permit to reroof?
Maybe partnering with the roofing contractor may help get the permit for the roof a little faster
11:27 The mentioning of snacks after emptying the freezer had me worried for a second 👀
Note to self - if I ever cut power to a house with a working deep freeze, empty it first! I was glad I wasn't eating during that part!
😂
I was thinking the same thing😹 that was si disguisting😹
I like the master control switches for the entire house in the master bedroom! Today it would have to include Wi-Fi off switches. No more kids playing games into the wee small hours of the morning!
Until they hack the home automation server. :)
I love seeing other couples who seem to genuinely love hanging out
Me too
I really love that making a pile of like things now constitutes a room.
Somewhat unrelated comment, but every Wednesday, when your videos come out, I have therapy. I always save your videos as a little treat for myself for after my session, and it always lightens my mood (especially after sad/difficult sessions) and it‘s such a self-care element of my week to find out whatever is going on with the house. ❤
You are both kind of famous, you have nearly a million subscribers and rightly so. This renovation is by far one of the best I’ve seen.
Every video I see of the house renovation, I'm more in awe of all the hard work that you do.
I am thinking that with all the holes in the roof. The house was self- extinguishing if it had caught in fire😅😅😅
The tarp on the roof is trapping the water and water is heavy, hence slanted roof.
The bucket spots, they could set buckets with a drain hose. Run the hoses outside and let them self drain.
It's so beautiful to see true happiness on a person. The genuine laughter and smiles are so sweet. Happy looks good on them
can i just say that i really like the editing of your videos? i usually don’t enjoy house renov videos but your music choice, the sudden music cut, silly convos between the two of you and the humor just sums it up perfectly!
I was waiting the whole time to see if you would swing on electrical wire… thanks for not disappointing 😂
You need to have a drywall nail pulling party. House is looking good! Just putting this out there for others - you could have gotten rid of ALL of that metal FOR FREE. Just advertise free metal for scrappers. They will come pick it up and do all of the work. They'll recycle the metal (which is good) and make a few bucks doing it.
So will they. Metal yards pay for it. They just shipped it in a metal bin.
Yes my thoughts exactly!! You could’ve made some money then e
Yeah a couple loads with a truck just ask to keep ticket open til done bringing it.
@@Boga217 no different with the bin. The metal companies know how much it weights and will pay for the returning weight
@@growad and you'll pay a automatic percentage of it for drop-off and pick up. They may also not sort the non ferrous valuable stuff
The house that keeps giving. Every time I think you must be done with clearing out, there's more, like the chest freezer.
Your fun facts are fun! So interesting how things were constructed so differently back in the day and specifically in that old house!
I was thinking… how dare she not post a new video in time for my Wednesday lunch. And she heard me!! 👀 thank you!❤
Literally tho made some yogurt and opened UA-cam to this
Dinner for me. 😅
lol same 😅
same here
I can't think of eating something while they clean that fridge
I’m literally obsessed with this series I really enjoy getting to see the work that you guys have been doing already can’t wait for the next part🫶🏻
Jenna swinging on the cables is iconic 😂👏 i love yall and your unwavering determination
Permits denied three times??? I guess the city would rather have a dilapidated abandoned house rather than a taxpaying residence.
It's actually pretty normal for cities to send back permit submittals with comments that need to be addressed prior to approval. Usually you can get everything addressed with one set of comments, but it's not uncommon to have to go through multiple submittals before you can get final approval.
The amount of work you two have accomplished is stunning. You're doing great. 👍👏💐💕
11 min. Yay ❤
“I feel like I could be an electrician. Not easy being an electrician”. Real bars
It's actually.the easiest trade to be in 😅 try carpentry, floors, cabinets, plumbing. Electricians have the easiest job out there. Pierce holes, pass wires, attach wires, voila, power.
Jenna, I know you’ve been through a lot but girl, I think you found a keeper in Nick! You two seem to work so well together and mind you- doing that kind of work is exhausting - so if he can keep his cool like he has and continues to be so supportive- wow! Very happy for you. And I have to also add- how much you make us laugh Jenna for being you! ❤ 😂 you keep us guessing and in stitches- thank you!
Please be sure to put a new railing up as soon as you can. I know it might be convenient but that fall is easily the most dangerous thing you have on the worksite.
Copper is expensive don’t throw it away, bring it to a recycling place and get paid for it.
This was my thought. Most of this metal would make them $$$$$
I'm sure a scraper would have picked that up for free they didn't want to move it themselves.
Should've separated the wire from the other metal. Throwing money away. Hurt my heart as an odd time scrapper. But if you don't know you don't know.
Yeah I mean there's a lot of people who don't have their own resources who will go through and salvage copper!
I agree Copper is at a all time high in price right now. All that wiring is worth money. I know a scrapper in the lower mainland who would take all of that and seperate all the metals. I would only throw tin into that bin and seperate the copper and other metals.
Milk containers, (still) good for freezing wet things or fill with water and use to take up extra space in freezer for better efficiency. Old school way to reuse something disposable rather than buy new ziplock bags and toss.
OH that is smart!
Why did I never think of this? I need large cooling elements for the cooler in my camper (no electricity, sadly) and the ones you can buy are kinda annoying, shape wise. Frozen milk cartons fit perfectly in there and will keep it cool so much longer!
Growing up my family went camping in Wisconsin. The camp ground had a freezer with frozen 1quart milk jugs full of water ice so you could put it in your cooler and keep food cold. Only cost a quarter or something.
My mom and I watch this house series every week. Loving it!!! ❤❤❤
It’s so fun to watch your progress on this daunting project, Jenna. Nick is amazing. You’d be wise to put a ring on that good man.
Sorry about the permits. You guys are doing great, keep at it!
I think the very first step in being an electrician is not saying "I hope all the power's off."
I swear, I always test with two separate gadgets. I got shocked once and have no desire to repeat the experience 💀
yup! Tag out and lockout 😀
That bank of switches would be a cool decoration, like mounted in a shadow box.
If you have a scrap Yard near you, you can take all the copper wires and metal to them and they'll pay you by the pound for everything also a tip for y'all before you do drywall you might want to go through the whole house and remove nails/staples from the wood that held the old drywall/paneling up. It'll save you once your ready to do the walls. It was a nightmare for me when I redid my house after a fire😅 nobody told me I had to do that I thought it was the drywallers job. Turns out it's not their job to prep the walls
Those light switches are the kind my grandma has in her house 😂
You two were ROCK STARS in this video.......gettin' it done!!
You should put some temp rails by those steps, just a couple 2x4 would help. It would be easy to miss a step.
I have never been so impressed by someone with a man-bun. ❤ You make an excellent team!
I love how far you have come Jenna. From your first video throughout you journey to now. Can’t wait to see what you do in the future to your new home
Hearing cordyceps in the mud water drink my mind screamed “NOOOO THE LAST OF US” 😂
I am so invested in your journey!! I can't wait to see this to the finish! ♥️
This House is sooooo unique, i am beyond excited for what it will look like once you finish
I find myself anxiously awaiting a new progress video every week
I gotta say, the abrupt outtros, I'm loving them 😂
You have no idea how much I look forward to these videos every week ❤❤❤❤
I’ve never seen anyone work harder than you two have on this house. It’s going to be so worth it. Just a beautiful property. So glad you had the vision.
“I used to lift weights” *inserts photo* made me laugh and i appreciate the visual proof.
LOL, seriously I am cracking up today. The treadmill running and the swinging on the wires, ❤ Jenna lol you are so fun to watch. 🤣 😅 😊
Yeah those "centrally controlled light switches" were kind of common in the 70's. The modern version of this is still low voltage lighting, but today you'd probably do it with LED lighting. I would probably encourage "replacing" that system with something newer, but not straight up smarthome-cloud-controlled stuff. Just modern LED lights.
I loved the water splashing down a bit over the rocks when you were draining the water. I thought, oooh, a water fountain cascading down those rocks, with pretty lighting, would be a tranquil addition to your beautiful new home. 💗
My fiance and i love watching these videos together. Loving your progress so far 💕
That’s so exciting about your pool. Would love to hear more about what the pool guy said…like what it will take to get it back up and running again
Oh Jenna, Loved when you were swinging from the wire. So cute, you are precious. I love watching your videos. You have such a great personality.
Jenna looks so happy and bubbly when she's around Nick ☺
Laughed out loud when Jenna was Tarzanning the electrical cable at 17:30
In Europe, these on and off switches to the plugs are commonplace.
After moving across the pond and living here for many years I actually prefer it, and it saves me money on all the appliances bleeding current because they are plugged in all of the time. It's great for home, environment, and bank accounts accounts. Please consider this small life change.
Seeing that you posted an update this week literally made my day. I’m loving following your journey and can’t wait to see the end results!
loved when you swung on the wires like Tarzan sajhfkhjg, honestly , you're editing is soo good, these are so incredibly fun to watch! and you're neighbours are so sweet for dropping by haha :"D
I was so disappointed to see those colorful bath tubs go into the garbage. I really hoped you could have saved them. Jenna, you are really physically strong!! You're doing so much hard work alongside your beau. You're both doing such a great job.
Here, you could put most of this stuff on the corner and it would be gone in minutes. No need for the bin!
This is so 😎 cool to watch. I am waiting for Wednesday just to see what you have accomplished.
Watching you both going through the ups and downs through this whole process is so inspiring. Loving how through all the down sides of the house theres always a smile on your guys faces☺️
I love watching you gain confidence week by week as the house transforms. You guys rock!
Sending you encouragement and good vibes from New Zealand - kia kaha!
I'm sure the neighbors are thrilled to see stuff happening at the house.
holy crap this series rocks
You two are working so hard, I hope it all works out. You are much braver than I. Can't wait to see what happens next. Been here from the beginning. Good luck
I was cracking up when Jenna was swinging on the wires. Too cute! 😂
You two deserve a medal for emptying that freezer!
I would have kept some of those things for recycling: outdoor heated bathtub/sauna (!), the hall gate for garden, definately copper wire - can't imagine the cost of everything!!😂❤
I saw the tomato cages in the scrap pile and almost yelled "keep those" at the screen. I was sad to see those painted bathtubs go into the bin too.
You both are so amazing! Thank you for sharing this with us!
It's always an amazing day when Jenna posts a new video!
Thank you! Have a nice week! 🥰🥰
I stoped everything when i saw the video is out, jesus 14 episodes, and i'm here from the first one AAaa Jenna you better make a board on the home and write our names on it for sticking by your side haha.
I cannot express how much I am LOVING this series- seriously!!!!
🥰🌸🥰🌸🥰🌸🥰
Jenna’s sense of humor and amazing work ethic keeps me clicking the videos. Y’all are such hard workers and it’s awesome to get to go on this journey with you.
You hanging from those wires, omg! I was dying laughing! You two always look like you’re having fun while doing grueling work!
Love your videos! It is so interesting to watch you tear out the new and how well you two work so well together!❤
Love your channel and I binge watched all your episodes. I can’t wait to see the progression of this beautiful house. You two are an amazing couple. Love your humour and love how hard you guys have been working together and rebuilding your house with so much love. ❤
The switches are 1950's smart home technology!
❤❤❤girl you have a way of making this old woman smile even on my worse of days. Hey you can post as many videos a week that you can get out cause I think they're great. You two make hard stinky smelling work not seem so bad. Thanks for sharing. ❤❤❤
I see you're almost at one million.. congratulations!!!
I truly enjoy your vlogs! They give me such hope for my future projects with my wife and daughter
I was so excited when I seen another video for you, Jenna. This is a GREAT series. Thank you
I DREAD the moment for you when it’s time to pull all the nails for the old drywall.
I'm so excited for you, and to see what you do with the house!
And what's with all the rain around here lately?! It's supposed to be spring!! 🌷
❤❤
I mean, it is Vancouver haha
I'm in SW Washington, along the coast and although we had a warmer than normal winter I'm trying to grow a garden and the cold, wet weather needs to go. It's definitely time for the slightly warmer wet weather now.
Just love watching the updates on your old house. Slowly but surely it will get there.
I love this series so much! Thanks for sharing!!
