What a time to be alive ! The great rock songs are (mostly) still being played, PLUS, we have this amazing guy to explain things in a way that completes the picture and makes it all make sense.
Geez, Rick!! These examples are amazing. Not a player but I would sit back and listen to an entire easy listening album of you making music like this. Now, they will have to be longer than 34 sec... 😊 Let me know when I can buy these Beato Beats!
Les Wise taught me that was called coupling. Pretty basic concept but it creates interesting sounds...colors if you will. You have great technique and harmonic sensibilities. Which of course is why you interview musicians like Pat Metheney and Sting so well.
Rick, you’re not just a great producer and overall musician, but one of the greatest guitarists. So how come that last nite on open E string sounds flat? “[Rickie], you got some splaining to do “
Dearest Sir..In all of your entire ventures, You have yet to mention. The Ruts,, _Album is the Crack.. Way beyound Nirvana.. 1979.. Time to get involved mate. You legend.
Hey Rick what about doing something on the "BARRY HARRIS b6 thing"? It shows well on piano too, (of course). And he just passed at the end of last year. Most explanations are lengthy but I imagine you could do something more immediately useful in your direct and concise style.
Rick, I watched your video on 5 things beginners should learn. I am not really a beginner but I am now trying to use alternate picking instead of "economy" picking. When should you use which?
What tuning was that in? Did not sound standard. The low E was definitely lower than normal. Sounded really smooth but dang short videos just give a dribble of what we need to hear.
Yeah, Jimi never played anything close to that!!! But still he was a legend in his own right and his solos weren't his greatness... His rhythms were 1 of a kind!!! Still I imagine that if heaven had a soundtrack Rick Beato & Jimi Hendrix would be on every track!!! HAHAHA
Does anyone know what that effect is that he's using? It's like a bass guitar with some synth undertones. Is it something he's adding in editing or some kind of effect in his rig?
If Edsel ever decides to stop “playing Xer0” for Static X, think Rick could be a good replacement. His hair is already starting to stand up on its own. ♥️
That's some really nice tone.

Welllll….
Something special on this one. And I’ve never heard him sound like this before has a dreamy floating then waking up
Check Endomorph from Allan Holdsworth for the same sound
Rick is a guitar wizard!
That guitar sounds so good.

I always watch these shorts before I practice just to get the inspiration flowing. Rick, you rock! I Always watch your channel.
your collection of short lesson masterclasses in growing rapidly. I’m falling behind!!
True , probably some of the best guitar short lessons out there...
Sounds great, Rick. Very inspiring.
You're the king!!

Truly inspiring, thank you kindly!
(Love your videos and channel.)
😎🇺🇸🙏❤
Very cool Rick
Too good I’m still trying to learn the two string pentatonic lesson from a couple weeks ago
Don't worry. You only have 20 years to go!
the journey is the prize :)
YEAH.!! Like THAT!! ☺️☺️
Rick… you’re living my dream life.
Carry on!
Like that! I sure do, like these shorts ❣️
Rick it’s a great idea in theory but in practice it sounds like the music from my dreams where the sleep monster shows up.
I like THAT.
You’re a legend Rick
Nice to see you playing your PM. Sounds nice acoustically into the mic as well as through the amp
Beautiful
Killer stuff Rick!
God dam it Rick you are a monster

Like that f-ing A right. So good thank you
I hated learning scales. I was always looking for the melody. Still am that way.
I'm a badass, like that!
Rick: show us some melodies made from these fancy scales.
If Devin Townsend played jazz.
I love that it would take me the rest of my life to understand 30 seconds of Rick Beato. :-D
The Professor!!!!
I like the way you play (heard in Slingblade voice)
Aha, arpeggios!
Solo album!
Wow. Now that's impressive... as usual.
Rick looks stoned AF in the thumbnail
You should sell "Like that" shirts
an actual cool short!
HELL YEAH!
This gives me Otmar Liebert vibes
Drummer here who can't play guitar at all. But dang, I do adore watching Rick display his talents and share his knowledge.
Just one listen
And I know it's gonna be
A lovely day
LIKE THAT.
Hey cool! I put up a slow jam centered around E7#9 (the Hendrix chord) on Tuesday. This would be a great technique to use with that track...
"Like that" .. please never take an interest in my wife, Rick.
Rick , I've noticed you changed the thumbnail pic HAHA .
That’s was cool

My E7 alt sounds waay different. I love this quartel sound he gets. Doesn't sound like melodic minor at all.
Sounds like Trevor Rabin
Big allan Holdsworth vibes
shred!
Like. That.
Rick! Can you do something on (early) Earth, Wind & Fire?
not a bad effort, Mr. Beato.
Dearest Sir..In all of your entire ventures, You have yet to mention. The Ruts,, _Album is the Crack.. Way beyound Nirvana.. 1979.. Time to get involved mate. You legend.
YEAH THATS IT ,, PLAY
Like that
I just can't
RELEASE AN ALBUM PLEASE

I did a video 5 years ago.
Love the sound of that hollow body! Impressive licks too!
Name of album is obvious. "Like that."
Rick, I watched your video on 5 things beginners should learn. I am not really a beginner but I am now trying to use alternate picking instead of "economy" picking. When should you use which?
I like to call the E7#9 at 7 pos the "Middle chord" on guitar.
like that
No one:
Absolutely no one:
Absolutely no one in the universe:
Absolutely no one in the entire multiverse:
Rick Beato: Like That!
Stop it
@@brettadkins7563 stop what?
🙂
Yngwie von Beato!
You're robbing all of us if you don't publish these practice sessions to Spotify.

What guitar is that??? 🎸
How were you ‘not’. In the ‘wrecking Crew’ ?
How do u scale a chord
i dont believe that the term hendrix belongs in the title for any reason though
Tabs Plzzzzzzzz😎
:-)
waaa? i thought the hendrix chord was D7#9 ??
Sometimes I feel like the guitar is a d tier instrument
Yeah, Jimi never played anything close to that!!! But still he was a legend in his own right and his solos weren't his greatness... His rhythms were 1 of a kind!!!

I don’t think his guitar is making the synth noise
….. you mean the background music? The background music that he isn’t playing?
Lately, you said that you would like to practice more on the guitar... Well, I think you did, because it shows...
Sorry rick. I don’t feel Jimi in that playing
Ur Shorts hurt my head RB. I just can’t keep up with ur fingers wailing away.
That's a sin
What What?
If Edsel ever decides to stop “playing Xer0” for Static X, think Rick could be a good replacement. His hair is already starting to stand up on its own. ♥️
What a horrible thumbnail. 😁
hah, it is kind of rough, now that you mention it.
I have no choice. It does it automatically
Your not in E7. You resolve to E7 duhh
I'm going to sorta rip off Rick and start playing for people and when I'm done I'm going to say, like so!
Play something tasteful for once. Jesus. We don’t care about speed or ur scale knowledge
Boring af. What about phrasing?
