No one has mentioned the two members of country royalty in that video, who have since passed away. George Jones was singing the part of the manager telling him to lose weight, Charlie Daniels was playing the fiddle and talking at the end. I think you would really like Aaron's "Am I The Only One".
The second I read this comment, I realized exactly where in the video Charlie was. I wouldn't have recognized George Jones, but he was great in this song. Reminds me of the guy that sings "O Death" in the Oh Brother Where Art Thou soundtrack.
When Aaron was with Stained, I thought he was really good, but since he branched out and done things his way, I think he is absolutely awesome. He is so happy to bring other talents into his songs, but doesn't use them as a marketing ploy, the man is great, I hope yall check out more of his works.
Surprised as a rock person, you had no clue who he is. He is a rock star, who is a patriot, country boy. Love Aaron, both country version and rock, Staind. He has a fantastic voice.
Information: "Country Boy" is a song by American country musician and Staind lead vocalist Aaron Lewis, and is his first foray into country music. Released on December 7, 2010[1] through Stroudavarious Records,[2] three versions of the song are featured on Town Line, Lewis' debut EP[3] with a live acoustic version of the song on the iTunes Store deluxe edition of The Road, his debut studio album.[4]
When he says "12 years ago I sold my soul " he's talking about Staind. He was the lead singer and they were alternative. "It's been a while " is probably one you've heard of.
That explains why Dustin was getting the alt-rock vibe. I listened to Staind, but wasn't that big of a fan. I didn't change the channel when they came on, but I don't have any in my playlists. - Keith
I can't believe I have never heard this song before! Wow! I am seriously impressed. I looked it up and he told Billboard Magazine that he won't deny there is a correlation between this and Hank's a Country Boy Can Survive. It feels almost like tribute to the original song. The singer certainly has a unique voice and that's a compliment because so many newer artist (in country as well as other genres) all sound so much alike they don't stand out from the crowd.
I've been a huge Aaron Lewis fan since his days singing for Staind. Also, the New Riff single barrel is really good. I've had several store picks that were amazing.
I saw Aaron Lewis in Fort Wayne, Indiana in a country bar. He played 2 sets. First set was his solo country stuff. Second set was acoustic and was his stuff from Staind. One of the best shows I've seen!
I never like the Aaron Tippin song "You've Got To Stand For Something" the reason is I don't agree with the message in the song I'm the opposite, I rather have someone tell me what decision I should make.
It's very good. George Jones was the one singing lose some weight, your friends etc... and the old guy talking at the end is Charlie Daniels!! You could do some of the old country like Waylon Jennings....Outlaw Bit. Johnny Cash...A Boy Named Sue...Hank Jr. Fell off a mountain & it was sooo bad they couldn't get it all right. That's why he wears the hat & glasses...He sang about it...Called Ajax Mountain!! Hell, you can't go wrong with any of them! They have catalogs of music!!!

Aaron is from Western Massachusetts & the lead singer of the Rock band Staind. He chose to do country music as a solo project, this song is pretty autobiographical. His new song Am I The Only One is REALLY good! Just discovered you guys, your great❤
Born and raised in West Virginia. I'm 46 and if you don't love Hank Jr. And John Denver "Country roads " than you can't claim the mountain state as you home.
Fun fact: Aaron’s dobro player, Ben, was his tour bus driver for a few years when he was kinda in between albums but also stagnating with Staind, doing solo acoustic shows. This was his best period of solo music IMO. Didn’t rely on twang and other effects. Just a dude on a stool playing his heart out every night. This was right at the beginning of the country era for Aaron Lewis. Think like 2006-2011. I remember hitting every one of those shows that went through Indy, and traveling to others. Part of that early era solo show was taking random requests from fans. There was a show I was at with a buddy in like 2007 and he yelled out 4 non-blondes between every song. Aaron hesitated a couple of times but eventually played “What’s Up”. Made his night. Idk if that’s what inspired him to play that cover every show for basically the next four years, but he did. Hell he may still play it every show.
