Staind have been one of my favorite bands since their album “Dysfunction” released in 1999. I am not a fan of country music at all, but I have nothing against those who are. The music that people listen to is mostly a matter of perspective. Since I am wired differently than most people, I have always been drawn towards unconventional styles of music more than anything.

Right on man. I'm same way. I love Nirvana, AIC, Saoundgarden etc. That music changed my life and kept it ticking by. If u go back to pre chuck berry, it was ppl like Buddy Holly who took the best of blues, country, sped it up and here we are. I like both. But alot of music that's Popular, played on media constantly, I don't listen to. But if not for those who did music their way in early 50s, Cash, Elvis, Buddy, Carl, Waylon, we'd not have the music we love. I like older music cause ppl had talent all around. no singing auto tune, playing through computer to sound as best as can be. What makes it so gr8 is that it's not the same every time u hear it live, then on radio, etc. The imperfection is what makes us see and hear that it's not about perfection. it's about attitude, and trying hard. Like most newer things, music is suffering too. We need a new Cobain to shake it up like he did in early 90s. That was the last gr8 music revolution. Our John lennon. Our elvis.

I'm so thankful Staind has a new record. My favorite band of all time. Staind has made music that truly has explained feelings I could never express. Aaron wrote lyrics that made me feel like they were written for me. If I ever wrote music and wanted to fully express who I am as a person it would probably sound just like Staind. The new record sounds great so far and it's almost exactly everything I could hope for in new Staind. Thank you for this interview and soooo stoked to hear the new album. Like literally the thing I'm most excited for right now in my life

Omg the best Rockfeed guest and interview ever! Thanks to you Brian and Aaron for such an intimate introspective into Staind early days and Aaron's solo country career. Aaron is one of my all time song writers and if you are a Staind fan and have not caught his solo show you owe it to yourself to catch hlm, awesome!

You are not a throwback. You are finally coming back to your original fans! Us rockers that just enjoy your voice! I am privileged to get to see you on April 19th. You were my twin sister favorite vocal artist on your first album . And every albulm till she passed. "Secret song" my favorite! My sister unfortunately passed away. When I come to see you this week. It's not just for me it's for her as well! Love the country acoustic version. But I will always love your original sound. Regardless to this day no one has a voice like yours!

*edit* he wrote a song that my wife and I chose for the most special day in our lives in 10 minutes 🤣 He has no idea how special that song is to me. *edit*
I don't care for his personal beliefs, but Aaron Lewis is my favorite lyricist of all time and Staind has more of my favorite songs of all time than any other band.
So Far Away was the song my wife and I danced to 18 years ago on our wedding day 🥰 Started our marriage off right ;)
Wish I could tell him thank you.

He really has matured a lot, truly shows how real he is, how much he understands circumstances and how appreciative he is of people who have aided him, friends he still has, and when he talked about Chester and Johnathan Davis I shed tears too, can’t wait for the album
Thanks for this, well done man 🤘🏻
